Introduction: systemic lupus erythematosus is an autoimmune disease that mainly affects women of childbearing age and has been associated with increased maternal-fetal morbidity and mortality. Objective: to describe the main maternal-fetal complications in pregnant women with systemic lupus erythematosus. Methods: a developmental, descriptive and cross-sectional research was conducted in 137 pregnant women with a diagnosis of systemic lupus erythematosus attended at the “Mariana Grajales” and “Arnaldo Milián Castro” Hospitals between January 2015 and December 2019 with a predominance of documentary analysis. Results: pregnant women between 20 and 24 years old, with medium-high school level, primigravidae, who attended five or more Prenatal Care Consultations and one or two Rheumatology and High Obstetric Risk Consultations during pregnancy predominated. The 94.98% were diagnosed before pregnancy and the interval of evolution was predominantly between one and four years. The main comorbidity was arterial hypertension (22.63%), followed by diabetes mellitus (18.25%). The most frequent maternal complications were preterm delivery (28.47%) and premature rupture of membranes (24.81%), while the most frequent fetal complications were prematurity (32.77%) and low birth weight (24.37%).Conclusions: the study showed an increase in maternal-fetal complications in pregnant women with systemic lupus erythematosus.

Introduction: individual aging could be considered relative if it is known that in Imperial Rome young people of 20 years of age were already old and life expectancy did not exceed 27 years due to infectious diseases, the infant mortality rate was very high and the birth rate and mortality rate were very high. Perhaps half of the individuals died before the age of five and many who reached the age of 10 died while still young. Objective: to summarize the literature on the subject.Method: a review of literature related to aging, published in Spanish and English, was carried out. The information was searched using the Google Scholar search engine. Conclusions: the application of STOPP/START criteria and rationalization of prescribing in elderly patients eliminates unnecessary prescriptions and reduces the average number of drugs administered to each patient and their prescription lines. In addition to improve care indicators (reduction of polypharmacy) and management indicators, pharmaceutical and economic savings are achieved and, above all, patient comfort is maintained.

Introduction: the majority of breast carcinomas subtype are positive to the expression of hormone receptors which is associated to a good response to the endocrine therapy. Objective: to determine the incidence of the luminal subtypes luminal A diagnosed at the Teaching University Hospital Celestino Hernández, Villa Clara and its correlation with classical prognostic value clinic-pathological variables. Methods: a retrospective, cross-sectional study was carried out at the Hospital Celestino Hernández of the period from January 2017 to June 2019. The research included 281 women with diagnosis of infiltrating breast carcinoma, whose biopsies were studied by immunohistochemistry. It was determined the incidence of the luminal subtypes luminal A and B and their correlation with the variables: age, location, tumor size, histologic type and histologic grade. The proliferation index was determined for luminal B tumors. Results: the molecular subtype luminal B had a higher incidence. In both luminal subtypes more than two third of patients were older than 50 years old, more than 60 % had no special histology tumors and similar percentage were associated to moderately histological types of breast carcinoma. The poorly-differentiated tumoral lesions and the tumor size larger than 2 cm was reported with higher incidence in luminal B tumors and more than 90 % of tumors of that molecular subtype had a high proliferation index. Conclusions: the molecular subtype luminal B had clinic and histological features that render a more aggressive biological behavior.

The objective of this study was to perform the biometrics of fruits and seeds in natural populations of H. speciosa and to verify the relation of these biometric variables with edaphic variables and with phytosociology data. The study was conducted in fragments of areas of Cerrado stricto sensu containing natural populations of H. speciosa, where 10 square plots of 10 m x 10 m (100 m²) were allocated in each area, with one H. speciosa, and a soil sample was performed in each plot. In these plots, a phytosociological survey was performed and in each central genotype of H. speciosa, 20 fruits were sampled in physiological maturation stage and measures of fruit and seed variables. Descriptive analysis, correlation study and multivariate analysis were performed. It was found that the areas of occurrence of populations of H. speciosa differ mainly in relation to soil characteristics. However, the fruits of H. speciosa of the Providence population are larger, have higher pulp yields and are sweeter than those of the Canaan population. In each population, there was a specific pattern of correlation between the variables, without significant and high magnitude correlations between the fruit size, the pulp mass and the total soluble solids with the soil and phytosociology variables. The community of plants that occupy the same habitat as the Canaan and Providence populations is not exerting much influence on the variables fruits and seeds of H. speciosa.

The urbanization process of cities conforms to a typically urban climate, most of the time characterized by the loss of quality of life due to climatic phenomena, such as urban heat islands. The adaptation of the urban form to the local climatic conditions has the potential to compose a sustainable urban environment, with thermal comfort in the open air. The present work took the city of Arapiraca/AL, in order to analyze the relationship between urban morphology and microclimate. From an analytical approach using the ENVI-met software for computer simulation, it was possible to compose four hypothetical models for the hot and dry period. The base model starts from a fraction of the city with a tendency to verticalization, the others vary according to: thermodynamic properties of materials, canyon geometry and vegetation. The results indicated significant thermal effects on urban morphology. The presence of high albedo materials promoted a decrease in air temperature. The orientation of the roads and the geometry of the urban canyon determined the solar access, the number of hours of exposure to direct solar radiation and the use of the winds. The presence of vegetation presented the potential to favor the thermal conditions of the microclimate. It is evident, therefore, the need to insert the study on the urban climate in the urban planning process of cities, in order to promote quality of life for its inhabitants.

The survey of medicinal  plants used by people in the Fazenda Nova district, Brejo da Madre de Deus Municipality, Pernambuco State, Brazil was the main aim of this work. Data collection was conducted through semi-structured interviews. The botanical material were identified and deposited at the Herbarium Professor VasconcelosSobrinho (PEUFR) of the Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco. Were recorded 81 species, distributed in 45 families. The families with  larger number of species were: Euphorbiaceae (7 ssp.), Caesalpiniaceae (5 ssp.), Lamiaceae ( 5 ssp.), Mimosaceae (5 ssp.), Asteraceae (4 ssp.), Fabaceae (4 ssp.), Bignoniaceae (3 ssp.) e Solanaceae (3 ssp.). Therapeutic indications for respiratory problems (24.54%), gastrointestinal disorders (17.47%) and inflammation in general (11.52%) are the most cited. The tea was the main form of preparation and the leaves were the part of the plant most used in the production of natural remedies. The species angico (Anadenanthera macrocarpa (Benth.) Brenan.), aroeira (Myracrodruon urundeuva  FR. Allemão), babosa (Aloe vera L.), colônia (Alpinia zerumbet (Pers.) Burtt. R. M. Sm), hortelã-miúda (Mentha crispa L.) e romã (Punicagranatum L.) stood out because besides being mentioned by all informants there was complete consensus regarding the main use of the plant, reaching ROP 100.

Considering that the current Brazilian Forest Code (Law No. 12.651/2012), among Brazilian laws, regulates the conservation of natural resources in relation to activities carried out on rural properties, determining the percentages for Permanent Preservation Areas (APP) and Legal Reserve areas (RL), the objective work to be used the QGIS Software as a tool for studies aimed at regularization rural properties to this law. Among the tools and applicability, visualization, mapping and calculation of areas based on georeferenced data were used to show the viability of environmental regularization and present mitigating measures that must be established in the study area, aiming at reducing the effects from environmental impacts negative. The regularization of the Farm Dois Irmãos das Bicas property under the Forest Law nº 12.651/2012, took into account the framing of the areas of RL, APP and Consolidated Activity (AC) to what determines the norms of the legislation. The percentages of land use and occupation destined for the AC and RL areas comply with what is established by law: respectively 67.58% of the land cover of the property is used for agriculture, which is fully adequate to the percentage established by law (up to 80%). The total of 27.17% is preserved, contemplating the minimum value of 20% destined to the occupation of remaining native vegetation as RL. The APP covers about 22.3 hectares with the presence of native species. For the APP to comply with the legislation, the Farm will need to restore three hectares with regionalized native species of the Atlantic Forest.

Science Teaching has been discussed in the educational field regarding its methodological strategies on how to improve experimental activities that arouse students' curiosity and, consequently, stimulate practical teaching that is different from traditional teaching. The objective of this study was to verify the student's knowledge about the concept of bacteria and to identify whether the experimentation brings scientific knowledge closer to the student's reality. The study subjects of this research were Science students from a 7th grade elementary school class at a municipal school located in Arapiraca - AL. For this, a questionnaire was applied, both to investigate the students' prior knowledge about bacteria and to analyze the knowledge acquired after experimentation in the classroom. This experimentation consisted in the visualization of bacteria from the human oral mucosa, with the aid of an optical microscope and took place shortly after the students answered the initial questions of the questionnaire. Initially, it was possible to observe that most students had some difficulty understanding the microbiological world, and the learning process was limited to their imagination. On the other hand, experimentation provided students with greater participation in the class and sharpened their curiosity to observe and discover the microscopic universe of bacteria.
