The recent recovery of the newspaper La Violeta places Monterrey, Mexico, within the history of the press during the 19th century, when women from northern Mexico were actively involved in writing and managing newspapers. This paper especially emphasizes La Violeta as a space dedicated to publishing literary texts, columns, and essays written by women, which focused on moral and social issues but, above all, on women’s identity and their right to education. This article offers a review of two periods of the publication’s history, as well as a discursive analysis of the newspaper’s content and how women expressed themselves through their writings. The conclusions point to the construction of an imaginary that highlighted new possibilities for women outside the domestic sphere.

El artículo propone el proyecto Cuentos Mexicanos, del periódico El Nacional, como un espacio para atraer a los lectores que gustaban del género breve y de los autores anunciados en el prospecto. La sección apareció en un contexto adverso para el periodismo en México; sin embargo, en el campo literario, las polémicas colaboraron en el cambio de función de la literatura, y permiten analizar los argumentos de los grupos enfrentados. El proyecto propició la escritura de textos afines al modernismo decadentista, por lo que terminó de agrupar a algunos jóvenes escritores que, un año después, fundarían la Revista Moderna. Una de las firmas, Ana Ruiz, se propone como seudónimo empleado por un modernista para participar en el proyecto sin consecuencias adversas, dada la pelea entre los directores de periódicos.

El artículo, enmarcado en el enfoque glotopolítico, estudia las condiciones histórico‒políticas de surgimiento de la revista infantil «La Enciclopedia Escolar Argentina», publicada en Buenos Aires entre 1879 y 1881. Busca demostrar que la publicación puede entenderse como parte de un programa de gestión de un modelo educativo para la Nación que su director, Adolfo van Gelderen, también implementó desde el ejercicio administrativo y legislativo. Las hipótesis de base son, por un lado, que las lecciones publicadas en «La Enciclopedia» (entre ellas, las de gramática) operan como estrategia para generar representaciones en favor de imponer un curriculum escolar moderno. Por otro, que la pauta lingüística expresada en las lecciones de gramática no respondía tanto a razones de soberanía lingüística como al sostenimiento de la red de gestores de la política educativa nacional de la que van Gelderen participaba. Para demostrarlo, en primer lugar, el artículo presta atención a algunos agentes centrales de la política del período, como Domingo Sarmiento o los hermanos Estrada, quienes tienen incidencia directa en gestión de «La Enciclopedia». Luego analiza las condiciones materiales y genéricas de publicación a través de las cuales se advierten las pujas por la instalación de una pauta educativa nacional.

Juan Diego Incardona (1971) is an Argentine writer. He has published a saga ―composed of short stories, novels and even a nouvelle― which deals with the transformation of Villa Celina, a neighborhood at the edge of the metropolitan area of Buenos Aires, after the consolidation of neoliberalism in Argentina during the 1990s. In this series of texts, composed of four volumes (Villa Celina [2008], El campito [2009], Rock barrial [2010], and Las estrellas federales [2016]), Incardona exposes the catastrophic consequences of neoliberal policies and consolidates Peronist myths. By making it clear that the myths set forth in the saga are intentional, his narrative puts forward a partisan stand and makes clear their political potential. In spite of his project, and going one step forward, Incardona also provides a reflection about the role of myths and literature in the generation of knowledge. A pretended autonomy of myths and the wish to direct them are in constant tension, and it is here where the condition of possibility of Incardona's narrative resides.

This article intends to study El fusilamiento de Penina, the only book by the Argentinian poet Aldo Oliva (1927‒2000) not composed of poems; instead, it is about a research on the illegal shooting of the anarchist worker Joaquín Penina, in 1930, by Uriburu’s dictatorship. Finished in 1975, the book was confiscated and burnt by the dictatorship of 1976, and remained lost until 2004. After a reconstruction of Penina’s story and of Oliva’s book, the text analysis is focused on an evidence: in the investigation the traces of Penina’s subjectivity, and those of Oliva himself, are deliberately erased, leaving their place to the study of «objective conditions» and to the «objectivity» of de researcher. This fact sharply contrasts with the subjectivist vision of history that one can find among Oliva’s poems, and also differs from others examples of the genre, that elaborate in other ways the marks of subjectivity and the entanglement between testimony and fiction. To exemplify this contrast, the article finishes with a coda that analyses a poem by Oliva about a figure that could be thought of as the reverse or the negative of Penina: Severino Di Giovanni, the expropriator anarchist.

A partir del análisis en torno a la confianza en la utopía revolucionaria que trasuntan las poéticas comunistas del siglo XX y su contraste con un presente distópico en el que se ha disipado el horizonte de futuro que esas poéticas anunciaban, este trabajo propone una reflexión crítica acerca de la práctica de investigación en la actualidad en tanto «ejercicio melancólico». Toma como disparador un poema que Robert Desnos le dedica a Raúl González Tuñón en 1937, durante el Segundo Congreso de Intelectuales para la Defensa de la Cultura, para indagar algunos momentos artísticos, políticos y teóricos puntuales de una historia apenas esbozada de sucesivos comienzos y finales del futuro utópico revolucionario.

A selection of Latin American women’s narratives shows them to act as memory machines, and maps of a contemporaneity in which violence and family history are inseparable. Narrators’ trans‒territorial position redraw the lines between inside and outside, and track their ancestor’s steps. Volverse Palestina (Lina Meruane, Chile), La tierra comenzaba a arder (Cynthia Edul, Argentina), Mar Negro and Infieles (Ana Arzoumanian, Argentina): in each text we encounter a narrative of loss, mourning and melancholy, in an oriental world dominated by colonialism, authoritarianism and violence. The writers take a political y ethical position.

For years, small and medium-sized enterprises have made a positive contribution to the global economy, not only because they generate a large number of jobs, but also because they contribute significantly to the region's economic development. Due to the above, an investigation was carried out in the municipality of Benito Juárez, state of Sonora, which aims to determine the relationship between the managerial skills of creative problem solving, motivation and emotional intelligence of managers of small and medium-sized companies. due to competitiveness and that allows generating a proposal for a management model that makes its processes more efficient. The type of study was correlational and descriptive with a quantitative approach that addresses a social problem from the perspective of the company's director.106 managers of small and medium-sized companies were interviewed through the application of a questionnaire and with the support of the statistical software SPSS v.25. The results obtained accurately identify the relationship that exists between the variables involved, which allows us to conclude that there is, at least, one managerial ability directly related to the competitiveness of the company.
