Resumen
The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the need for sustainable development in our country and increased social inequalities, implying that governments have a major challenge to reduce it. Nevertheless, we should not only wait for the current government to face it, but we must all collaborate in the solution of this problem. In this way, the universities, through research and develop activities, can also contribute. This work presents, in summary manner, the actions that the Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá has been carrying out with the vision of creating innovative communities through sustainable projects in time, for the benefit of its citizens. The main features of the proposals, projects and the different community development programs are shared here, with the objective of promoting, disseminating and replicating good practices with the premise of the interaction of the students' knowledge in the search for solutions to the problems of the communities.

Poultry production is one of the industries with the best development within the Panamanian agricultural system, however, for the next few years a growth in food demand caused by population growth is expected. This has led to solutions such as encouraging the emergence of a greater number of producers and boosting intensive animal production. Faced with this problem, a new field of research has emerged called Precision Livestock Farming (PLF), which is defined as the ability to monitor and track in real time the welfare, production, reproduction, environmental impact and health of livestock, using new technologies in artificial intelligence, automation, internet of things and information systems. This article aims to be a review on the fundamentals of precision livestock farming in broiler breeding, gathering current works and their work trends, from bibliographic research bases, with a view to the adoption of this field in future projects within Panama. As a result of this review, it was found that European countries such as Belgium, Netherlands, United Kingdom and Italy have the largest number of researchers and works related to this branch, being projects based on sensors, machine learning, artificial vision and sound analysis the current research trends, it was also found that ethical dilemmas related to animal care and welfare are still being discussed within this field.

Resumen
At present, one of the difficulties presented by the environment is the continuous growth of anthropogenic activities, and its effects manifest a clear risk of serious environmental deterioration, which will have to be tackled by finding the means to maintain and develop a balanced approach, by planning and managing policies for sustainable development. Therefore, a proposal for planning and management of natural resources has been made within the polygon of the Changuinola River basin, and thus differentiate the areas for proper management of natural resources, since the development of anthropogenic activities in rural areas modifies the geographical space and causes an alteration of the natural environment. Reduction of forest cover and degradation of natural resources. This planning is based on an assessment of the Natural Resources of the Changuinola River basin, one of the main in the province of Bocas del Toro. This research integrated biophysical factors of the basin. The methodology consisted of data collection, current soil analysis and proposed environmental planning and management. Among the products obtained, there is the spatial location of biophysical information, the analysis of land use conflict, the potential that exists within the area through a SWOT analysis, and a proposal for an initiative for the management of the basin polygon. It is recommended to share the environmental planning and management proposal with local users to contribute to the sustainable use of resources within the area.

Resumen
The application of virtual environments in areas of medicine is a study that has taken influence in recent years due to the great impact that these technologies provide to support or know the patient's condition. Simulation systems allow to give the user a glimpse of the various methods that will activate or initiate their recovery process. Physiotherapy in turn is a sector that has leaned towards the use of these practices to support the patient in his locomotor recovery, either for the upper or lower train. This article develops a virtual environment that aims to simulate and capture the movements performed by a patient in rehabilitation tasks, taking the approach of the use of exoskeletons to give or not a support to it. The proposed system uses motion capture technologies through OptiTrack to detect the user's trajectories, which are sent to a virtual environment developed in Unity to simulate and display the movement performed. These trajectories are manipulated in a Matlab application obtaining the results on the levels of deviation detected in the rehabilitation exercises, thus concluding with the validity and efficiency that exoskeletons have in supporting physiotherapeutic approaches.

Resumen
The emergence of the current COVID-19 Pandemic; due to the spread of the virus SARS-CoV-2, has led most countries throughout the world, including Panama, to establish mandatory biosecurity approaches to reduce the number of infections from this virus. In our country, the reopening of establishments, businesses, recreational areas, and other places with massive attendance and the continuance of their operations are directly conditioned to the fulfillment of the mandatory biosecurity guidelines established previously by health authorities and the national government. However, for the citizens, it is difficult to know whether these establishments are following the biosecurity guidelines and to determine if it is safe to attend these places. For these reasons, throughout this paper, we proposed the development of ABI, a mobile application that will let users check and report in real-time how different establishments are following biosecurity measures. Hence, with the diffusion of valuable information to citizens, the level of trust will increase when they decide to leave their households. Furthermore, the user-centered design framework was used to develop the prototype of the application. During the validation phase, it was determined that the application would contribute to increasing the amount of trust of the users when leaving their houses. Moreover, an important level of satisfaction from the prototype was expressed by the users, this indicates that the application is efficient, easy to use, and that they will recommend it to others. For these reasons, we can infer that the application would have an important level of acceptance within the Panamanian population.
