Resumen
The unruled social lifestyle in this contemporary time we are living in, has left our youth with a problem of sense crisis. The withdrawal of traditional institutions that provided meaning implies a progressive individualisation of life projects, which are made manifest as a feeling of permanent search. Today’s youth live in a situation of «moral inclemency», where nobody is able to guarantee that their behavior is correct in a clear and unique sense. On the contrary, a possible solution corresponds to the emergency of a value configuration around the notion of self discipline.This involves the formation of a cautious reflection, which allows for the protection of their own subjectivity in a world where the rules are relativized, avoiding unwished consequences and to avoid, provisionally, toward the demand for direction. In order to analyze this phenomenon suitably, we resort to a qualitative methodologic strategy beginning with the technique of group discussion.

Resumen
This article observes the way in which great contemporary transformations (economic, political and cultural) have an impact in the daily life of family, childhood and youth. Toward the problematic area, the literature of social sciences around the concept of management of social risk is explored, more specifically in the scope of childhood and youth in a difficult situation. In fact, the theory of the risk has nowadays become a great preoccupation, perhaps exaggerated and politically interested. This documentary observation predominantly collects and resists of materials of the United Kingdom, Latin America and Chile. Part of an historical revision of the risk concept identifies a series of theoretical schemes to approach it, and soon it is centered in the debate of management of the risk in relation to childhood in a difficult situation. It is observed that there is still lack of a model for social intervention of risk. Nevertheless, a continuation between two great tendencies is identified: one that is centered in control and looks to avoid the risk, whereas the other emphasizes the participation and the empowerment, taking positive risks. Questions for future investigations in this scope are included.

Resumen
This project is carried out within the framework for the investigation «Intersections between inequality and secondary education: an analysis of the dynamics of production and the reproduction of scholastic and social inequality in four jurisdictions». We carried out a comparison of the Regulations of Coexistence of the secondary schools of the jurisdictions of Plata and Neuquén. From the compiled documentation and the interviews carried out with the students regarding scholastic rules, it is of interest to us to analyze the ways which traditionally regulate the modern school, especially where appearance and punctuality persist or are redefined at present. At the same time, we will investigate new transgressions anticipated by the rules. In connection with the hypotheses of the project, we will maintain the presence of forms to structure the coexistence in the schools, dissimilar by jurisdictions and the social sectors taking into account the configuration and reconfiguration of inequality.

Resumen
In the middle of changes has generated by Age of Information called, acquired importance the phenomenon of Computer Mediated Communication (CMC). This is related to the increasing access that the Chilean society towards the internet, that positions it like leader in Latin America in the subject. By the proximity that the young people have with new technologies, this age group has been has itself appropriate with greater intensity of this new communicative tool. The instant messaging has become an important tool by he socialization processes of the young people, having occupied the place that in last decades use the telephone. Compared to other technologies the mail has become one of the few common elements that it crosses the social segments and the varied urban tribes in who the Chilean young people live their processes on construction of the identity.

Resumen
This article, synthesizes the main theoretical and empirical elements of the construction of a scheme of classes based on the Neoweberian principles of John Goldthorpe, in order to observe the educational mobility of youth between the ages of 20 and 29, who come from homes pertaining to these established socio-occupacional classes, from the data base of the Census of Population and Housing in Chile from the year 2002. To this regard, results stand out as the presence of ascending educational mobility in the majority of the classes, the high probability of inheritance in parents with a basic cycle and the differences in probabilities of reaching for a higher education in each class when having one parent with a secondary education, and the other with only a basic education.

Resumen
The rapid adoption and massive use of video games in our environment impose the need to investigate the impact of these recreational applications on children and adolescents in our country. Taking into consideration the findings described by several studies on the extent of use and social impact that video games have reached in other countries and in different sectors of the youth population, the present study, of an exploratory nature, aimed to determine the use of VJs in a group of Chilean adolescents and to analyze their gaming practices. Additionally, and based on previous research, it was considered relevant to know the players' perception of the cognitive skills and values promoted in the VJs, especially those associated with sexism in gender relations. With some exceptions, the data provided by this study are similar to those found in other countries.

Resumen
This article looks at addressing some topics which are considered relevant for studies on the complex relation between youth and politics. A survey of 492 twelfth grade students of Public High Schools in the Commune of Maipú was carried out, in which 4 topics were addressed: the value of politics, the value of democracy, political participation and political socialization. The results of this study relates from a criticical perception point of view of youth regarding the four topics which were analysed, coinciding with the results of national surveys which we have provided within the last few years.

Resumen
When we began to address youth topics, we ended up describing this social group way beyond the range of ages and biologics, trying to accomodate them with a view to social sciences, which helps us explain the diverse phenomena which occur with youth, and in this way we understand their problems and social acts. Normally, these definitions touch the concept of «youth culture» where different youth manifestations are boxed in. We are now going to review the following pages, not only for value or relevance to the term «youth culture», but also to make a revision of some points of view on youth, and the association of the culture. This reflection brings us to the following questions, which we do not intend to answer, but rather reflect upon. Does «youth culture exist»?

Resumen
The present article covers from a qualitative research strategy the trajectories of young students at the
moment of graduating from secondary school, their entrance to higher education and the moment of
professional insertion as subjective expressions of a new social sector emerging from working classes
and made up from the opportunities opened by the market-based education in a new middle class.
The objectives are, on the one hand, to characterize the way in which education has served as a guide
for the intergenerational transition of these sectors; on the other hand, to get a closer look into the
subjective dimension that links the education trajectory of young people with class formation, as a
proposal for the understanding of this social sector.
