The present article is a reflection intended to tackle the forms in which male and female young people are made visible by digital written media– as a part of the social construction of youth – within the context of COVID-19 pandemic in Chile. An adultcentric context is recognized as the ground for performing the communicative act based on a perspective of youth as a natural condition supported by three principles reinforced during the contingency of a pandemic: the biological heritage of the definition of youth, the stigmatization of youth groups and the reading of the context from a perspective of generational conflict between young people and adults.

In the mid-2000s, evidence showed that one out of seven higher education students in Chile were the first generation in their families to reach this level of education. The present article intends to give insight into the consequences of this process for their socio-economic conditions. For that purpose, it is focused on the currently 25-30 yearold cohort, comparing the educational and labor trajectories of this first generation with higher education to two other groups: those who have higher education and are children of graduated parents (heirs) and those who are children of parents with no higher education, not even reaching that education level (reproducers). The analysis is based on the 2017 National Socio-Economic Characterization Survey (Casen), including a set of indicators about education profiles, labor activity, income and housing. Results show that, regardless of the fact that the first-generation students set apart from reproducers both in labor and social terms, a set of differences between them and the heirs mark social and labor distances.

The article goes through the stereotypes that mark out girls and boys among their school time. For that purpose, the following categories are recognized: generation X, juvenile presentism, violence culture and light generation; being these the categories that position youth images that appear in the juvenile life, not obtaining further recognition of the experience and juvenile contexts. What happens then with those youths that do not fit the stereotype? Those youths that point serious differences with the scholar scheme, do suffer the weight of the norm and the stigma. That is why the question the relations between teacher and youth where a non simetrical relation persists which validates the power of one over the other, relations sustained on the control and domain of the world of the young; these non simetrial relations are reviewed checking their implicancies and possible changes.

The article tries to discuss the transformations that are happening in the sexual and affective life of the Chilean young from a psycosocial point of view. The objective of this article is to present the major results of research of a project which has the knowledge of the end result how Chileans socially construct the otherness of the other woman-being, indigenous and immigrant. Specifically it aboards the perspective of youth in relation to the socio-image of the adult world, respecting the other woman-being. The central argument of this article is to re-affirm that the familiar «machismo» forms a part of the Chilean identity, understood as a social construction and is imaginary, and, as a result of this act of symbolic violence, our traditional culture has finally given this assertion. However, continuities and ruptures on the dominant discourse about the alleged inferiority of women seen in contemporary Chilean society. In the context of a globalized world are the youth who speed up the movement that is gradually changing gender relations, through critical views of the past and new social practices.

This presents a basic conceptual framework that addresses the processes of consumption among youth from a relational perspective. It comes in the first instance as a macro-social context that defines societies with a consumer culture and its relationship with youth. Subsequently it develops a set of psychosocial and cultural elements of consumption for further analysis. Eventually it develops a relational presentation of the conceptual elements to guide the interpretation of consumption in youth within a specific social context, that is, within consumer societies.
