Previously, as much as considering the criteria to the base of the decision as the perspective of future wished for childhood and adolescence. The study was of descriptive character, in a qualitative frame of methodology, in which a design of multiple cases in three stages was used: i) survey, ii) Delphi group, and iii) diagnosis-propositivo workshop. In each stage the information of the sectors was compiled separately, education, health, justice and government. This article is a partial study which moves around the perceptions and social representations of the female body, in which these young students from two different universities have, one of a public scope: The Autonomous University of Mexico City, and the other from a private scope: The Intercontinental University. It is intended, from the qualitative method, to decipher how the feminine subjectivity operates in young people with the purpose of discovering, describing and understanding the ways in which they think, interpret and use their body daily. The work concludes with a presentation of the results of the first stage of this investigation, which is divided in three phases, where the main representations and scopes of relation with the body are located, which will be departure point for subsequent phases.

This investigation searched for the view that the Chilean youth, in this case university students, have on old age. The work is based on the movements of the gerentological thought which to a great extent emphasizes minusvalias in older people which is a product of their social exclusion and unfavorable cultural context, more than of their physical state or mental condition. These exclusions were the object of an investigation made among Chilean youth, by applying a semantic differential test to 682 university students. The intention of the study was to extend the knowledge of the images that the Chilean university students have of old age and propose, a reflection on some of the consequences that these images can have in our society. The results showed a predominance of negative images that are generalized and projected on old age, those that could be affect the perspective of well-being of present and future of the old aged in an increasing context of population aging and increase of the life expectancies.

It was intended in this research to understand the processes of construction of the urban juvenile identities starting from the cultural expressions of the group Street Dancers who identify themselves with the hiphop culture. The integrants of this group were between 15 and 24 years old in 2004, when the field research was initiated. A research that assumed ethnographic characteristics was made, with observation and listening of statements of the youth of the group, in public spaces, as the Campo de São Bento, in Niterói, where the group Street Dancers did activities that can be defined as cultural practices that combined simultaneously with leisure proposals, search for social recognition and possibility of insertion in the artistical-cultural working world. It was observed that the group sociability enabled provisionally, the construction of a collective project around the dance, having as main question associationism, that is, walking together searching to transform leisure in paid work and garanty of survival.

A theory of age in modular production by Pierre Bourdieu, would be a rejected project without even being close in depth to the notion of habitus of age. Working on the notion toward a goal of code of age, this article analyses the articulation between social field and age. It’s two sub-fields (longevity and classes) distinguish the reality of the modern dominant culture, social production of habitus of age differentiated from (childhood, youth, adulthood, the elderly, etc.). It also distinguishes generational habitus, in relation to the sub-fields of these generations. This article applies for conceptual elements which are constructed as useful tools for gerentology and other topics which address age.

The present article gives account to the phenomenon of values from a sociological perspective and establishes an entailment with the valoric production of the youth. The values are products of change and transformation throughout history. They arise with a special meaning and they change or they disappear at different times. All beings have their own value. In synthesis, the diverse opinions infer two basic theories about values depending on the position of objectivism or axiological subjectivism. All of them are addressed in the present article.

This article discusses over the elements in the base of the educational process carried out in schools, regarding poverty contexts, analizing the implicancies of the «social representation» that teachers figure out of their students in such process. This research give us a first clue: that the the way that teachers represent their students is determined by the norms and the role that the scholar institution assigns to the students. But, is today’s school an institution among the classic sense of the term? The tools given by this institutional concept to the teachers board, do enable them to solve the strains imposed by practice? It looks like the masification of the inclusion of a new scholar public, questions the most fundamental bases of the concept. Therefore, on which foundations is the educational process defined? It seems that it would be rather the representation that the teachers have of their students, conformed since the properly scholar domain and issues that are external to those which would be defining it. This representation would be guiding «what is being done» in the school, demanding a new configuration of the teaching role and why not, a new way to conceive education.

This article reports the results of an exploratory, qualitative inquiry into the construction of the perception of social inclusion and/or exclusion in school and school-age youth. For this purpose, interviews were conducted with various social science specialists. This work made it possible to obtain clarifications regarding the relational, contextual and temporal aspects of the concept of social inclusion and/or exclusion. It also showed the need to look at school not as a space that excludes in itself, since most young people participate in school, but rather as part of a broader system, a social system that excludes or includes, a social system that fosters expectations regarding life paths, but does not necessarily generate the opportunities to achieve these expectations.

The present report accounts on a study carried out in order to learn the perceptions of young people belonging to a governmental school, regarding the use of information technologies in the scholary environment. A qualitative method was used and the resulting information was obtained through two focal groups and a interview carried out to first and second high school students. The information analysis was carried out following the model suggested by the Grounded Theory, building a descriptive and rational analysis of the information available.  The resulting information points out that students feel that technology is an immediate need, to which the school is not answering adequately, therefore, they reach for alternative learning strategies in order to cover the above mentioned need.
