The way in which the news of the murder of a police official at the entrance of a poor district of the urban Buenos Aires, became a propitious occasion and the massive means of communication put in scene of the media figure of the young person (male) of an infamous sector associated to violence and crime. The stereotyped figure that appears natural and essensialized, so this social construction condenses three problematic areas with district differences: «insecurity», «violence in young people» and «crime», which constitute different phenomena, with different causes that require particular interventions according to each one of them. This article analyzes the way in which (particularly the graphs) were treated on the news, to put in evidence present declarative procedures of form certain appellant in the narratives in which the young people of infamous sectors appear as the unquestionable faces of «insecurity» and the urban violence, resisting treatment with the results of our ethnographic work in the same district. To reconstruct these procedures allows retraceable steps and the way of the naturalization to give a critical account of one of the most important mechanisms of social construction of the feelings of insecurity, and its consequences in the treatment of youth.

This exhibition is a theoretical approximation of literature about the presence of young people regarding recent past developments in Chile. This research aims to contextualize and discuss the construction of youth representation from the analysis of conceptual frameworks and their link with the historical course over the last decades. It is important to emphasize how there is a (in)visibility of the youth situation after the division that produced the 1973 coup and military dictatorship. Since young people are able to stress the status quo and reposition themselves as agents of their history, especially in light of the recent student demonstrations that have been repositioned in the current citizen scenario.

This study addresses the phenomenon of teen fatherhood. It stands as a phenomenon of fatherhood exercised by an individual actor embedded in a set of family relationships. Young parents were interviewed, between 16 and 19 years of age who had a son / daughter a year or so old and had a relationship with the mother of the child. The design sample was a non-probabilistic, and the technique was a semi-structured in-depth interview. Respondents were two cities of Chile, Iquique and Santiago, both which are popular strata. The analysis performed does not distinguish subgroups in the sample. The method of analysis was the analysis of discourse. The research questions were about how fatherhood is expressed within the first year of the birth of the first son or daughter, and how they visualize the relationship in the process of adaptation to new circumstances of life.

In the present article diverse conceptions of trust are presented, starting by mentioning that it can be understood as a rational process; conceived as an abstract state in people, which is developed consciously. This implies that people rationalize the trust that is bestowed on others, meaning that it can be seen as a state of mind of men which indicates security and optimism in his relationship with his environment. Trust builds social relationships and is strongly associated with social cohesion. In this process, young people are very wary of social institutions, in particular those related to politics. This phenomenon —the lack of trust in the institutions that are in charge of collective matters— would jeopardize the possibilites of achieving good levels of social cohesion.

The present study is about the social integration of young people, in this case, through the concepts of alienation and psychosocial anomie, addressing the normative condition posed by the social world, in objective, institutionalized and subjective aspects such as the relationship of the individual with respect to «the others» and the «other» in a more abstract dimension. Fourteen interviews were conducted in-depth with school youth of different sexes and income levels. The results will consist of five discourses that enable youth to discuss the current conditions of individualization and the imaginary relationship of youth publicly and socially.

The work presented here is part of an investigation that had two main objectives, firstly to analyze the formation of youth employment policies deployed by the state and secondly, from a more subjective view, to analyze the major social and economic impacts in young recipients of these policies. In order to carry out this study, the subject was approached from different secondary targets which allowed me to characterize the main criteria taken into account when designing policies and monitoring the adequacy of those policies to the problems experienced by young people and identify what were the changes in the lives of young people from their inclusion in the projects. The field work was realized in Villa Itatí, Quilmes, Buenos Aires. The policies analyzed were «Hands on», and the program «Included». To carry out this research a qualitative methodology and participatory was used, as it allowed access to understanding the phenomenon of the investigation.
