Resumen
The artistic installation El mar del dolor by the Chilean poet Raúl Zurita establishes a controversy with the treatment given to migrants in the media, particularly with the photograph of the dead Syrian boy on the beach, taken image by Turkish reporter Nilüfer Demir in 2015 year. Zurita responds to this picture by creating a piece of humanity —a concept of Georges Didi Huberman— for the migrants who were on that boat that was shipwrecked. In their piece of humanity, the subjects invisible to photography, whose names have been forgotten or crossed out, recover their names; and, the victim no longer has a strange, unique or exotic experience, as in the photograph, but its occurrence is linked to other experiences of pain, mainly those of the author of the artistic text. In opposition to neat photography, which shows the sufferer isolated from his context, the Zuritian humanity plot makes the different forces of the conflict appear, generating spaces that are not just a set. Also, while the overexposing photograph enjoys the pose, the plot returns the movement and life to those who had been captured and kidnapped by the lens. With this, Zurita polemizes with overrepresentation, a photography as a spectacle where the spectator is a specter of what happens; and with the under-representation of those who have no right to image. The poet manages to remove the visitor from the installation of his status as a spectator and introduce it to the experience of the migrant shipwreck

Resumen
The following work addresses the influence of the United States in the political thought of Dr. José María Luis Mora, who was considered one of the most important Mexican intellectuals of the 19th century. The fundamental objectives of this research are, on the one hand, to make known their perceptions about the Anglo-American experience, and on the other, to demonstrate that this was more determinant than what Charles Hale’s classic proposes about it.

Resumen
The following article analyzes the journalistic production of the left between 1950 and 1989, to give an account of the processes of transformation of political practices that affect public opinion. From 1950 until 1973, leftwing parties produced newspapers and magazines in an attempt to dispute the political domain using different journalistic strategies. From 1977, the political left regained different journalistic strategies that had been used prior to 1973, changing formats and contents in their publications, expressing their own tensions and reformulations to delineate the domain of the political, during a period where the re-legitimation of politics was key to defining Chile’s future democracy.

The following article aims to study the visits and inspections carried out by three presidents of the Republic, and their respective committees, to the Maestranza Central de Ferrocarriles, located in the city of San Bernardo, during the years of Radical Governments. In these State visits we try to notice the character of political practice that was in them, also proposing that in those made to the San Bernardo Maestranza, the intentions of feeling the feeling of the railroad guild against the event of the country were hidden, to loyalty their support and, where possible, place the Maestranza as a model workshop at the national level, in which it was possible to successfully implement the developmental policies carried out from the State.

Resumen
The article describes the dialogue between the poetry and thought of Eduardo Anguita and different disciplinary currents (literature, philosophy, psychoanalysis) to analyze a particular conception of eroticism presented in the piece Venus en el pudridero. It proposes an interpretation of the poem that understands eroticism as a point of access to a peculiar ontological reality, representing a radical arrival and opening up to a dimension that remains hidden in the usual course of things. The permeability of this event leads us to propose the complexity of this conception, seen through the presence of the unpleasant nature that lies within this opening, which at the same time as it allows access, also produces an estrangement, establishing a diaphanous dialectical game inherent to the erotic rhythm that is subtly described by the poet.

Resumen
Although the idea of meritocracy is widely present in social research, few studies analyze and discuss this concept. This research note shows the results from a first stage of a wider research project on meritocracy and distributive preferences in Chile, which is based on 9 interviews with social science scholars whose research is related to these issues. Findings show that researchers refer to merit and meritocracy not only departing from different definitions but also giving them contentious social relevance. Furthermore, effort takes precedence over talent, a more developed dimension in international research. The results are discussed taking the Chilean socio-cultural context into account, characterized by rapid neoliberal modernization as well as high economic inequality.

Resumen
Is it possible that an anarchic thought, be at the same time, civic, builder of the polis? This is what Charles Péguy has argued through the formulation of three methodological rules to properly conduct the anarchic-civic thinking. These are the universal competence authority of the reason of the subject; the freedom of thought; the rooting of both in a memory that generates the thought event. This anarchic-civic method allows thinking in a new way, the factors that support the polis.

Resumen
From the reading of Marcelo Cohen’s Un año sin primavera, this essay thinks over the concern about ecology in contemporaneous literature, autofiction discourse and own limitations of the language in its evaluation of reality. Mirroring Cohen’s range and proposal with that stream of autofiction monotone literature that apparently stands out of the recent (up to date) literature, the linguistic and fantastic imagination appears as a key element that can be extrapolates to other recent narratives: Schweblin, Meruane, Geisse and others. To sum up, we can observe a current of strict experimentation as well as of imagination emphasize in recent Latin American Literature. Those are different narratives proposals that, however, join themselves in aesthetics and ethics explorations, as well as drafts futures or lives able to be imagined in a try to power, from the imagination, alternative regards in front of geopolitical and vital projects that self-design as unavoidable options of our present .
