This review is about the book #Nodes. Entangling Sciences and Humanities, edited by Gustavo Ariel Schwartz and Víctor Bermúdez. #Nodes is a book which aims to bridge the gap between the sciences, humanities, arts, and literature. It brings together a variety of interdisciplinary perspectives on ten issues which have been occupying researchers from all of these fields for a long time: complex networks, metaphor, the cosmos, chaos and complexity, emergence, perception, memory, emotion, consciousness, and big data. Literature plays a key role in this book, not only because it constitutes part of the book, but also because its relations to different scientific fields are highlighted in numerous of the short articles of #Nodes.

Our purpose, with this monograph of Tropelías, is to fathom into the term ‘sinister’ and investigate, a little more, why we continue to get closer to what causes it, why it attracts our attention and what moves in us. What do we hope to find and also what do we intend to hide, what do we intend to enclose when, voluntarily, we submit to its effects: how does the sinister help us?, does it, in some way, vent our dark part?

This article analyzes a set of texts that show two manifestations of the love experience: utopian love, fleeting, ephemeral, in a fragment of the novel Gaudeamus (1986) ―a lyrical evocation― by José María Conget, and familiar love, experienced and lived, beautifully nuanced, in four poems by Ildefonso-Manuel Gil. It is concluded that, despite the apparent opposition between the two forms of love, the two reflect love forever, due to how strongly their experience is.

In 2008, Complete Poetry (1963-2003) Memory and Desire by Manuel Vázquez Montalbán was published and it brings together the Catalan author's poetic work. His poetic work is less well known than his narrative work, especially with the appearance in 1974 of his detective Pepe Carvalho as the protagonist of the crime novel series. It is essential to approach the author's poetry in order to understand the multiple facets of his writing. Therefore, this article proposes an approach to Montalban's poetry from some vital keys that transit in his work.
