Our Home by the Adriatic (1886) by Margaret Collier is a travel book which provides historical, social and cultural knowledge about the people, spaces and places of the Italian region of the Marche. Collier’s marriage to a former Garibaldian officer was the occasion for her move to Italy, where her need to write developed as something different from that of a tourist. Indeed, her topographical writing was spurred by her desire to prove that women were capable of traveling and writing (Mangani), and to undermine the stereotype of the woman who “[…] could not write so well; [if she did] it was her brother’s, no doubt” (Battestin 380-381). Beyond the gender dimension, the essay will survey how Collier’s travel writing depicts through its anthropological approach both the lights and the shadows of the Marche, and how the portrayal of the region itself proves to be crucial to her understanding of place and perception of space.

Objective: To identify the best scientific evidence regarding health interventions to reduce the body mass index in school children with obesity. Method: Literature review based on the PRISMA-2020 statement; selection criteria: quantitative studies, controlled clinical trials and case-control studies; published from 2015 to 2020, Spanish, Portuguese and English languages, free text. Descriptors: (child), (child); (obesity), (obesity); (body mass index), (boby mass index); (schoolchildren), (schoolchildren). Six selected studies with a level of evidence type I and grade of recommendation "A". Main results: Studies applied in primary schools in the United Kingdom, Spain, China and Chile; the primary result was the statistically significant lower BMI after the intervention, 83.3% showed a level of evidence I and grade of recommendation "1A" recommendable for its application in practice. General conclusion: The literature shows a significant decrease in BMI, this decrease is only during the intervention period; the need to develop interventions with long-term follow-up is identified. It is recommended to continue with the analysis and dissemination of the various interventions designed by the scientific community, as well as to favor their inclusion and application within the framework of the health programs of each country.

Objective: To explain the association between risk factors and the prevalence of breast cancer in women in a gynecological-obstetric hospital. Methodology: quantitative, predictive, non-experimental, cross-sectional and retrospective study. Two groups of women with and without a diagnosis of breast cancer between 20 and 70 years old were carried out during 2015-2020. Result: 284 files of women were studied, 136 formed GCC and 148 G-SC, with a median age of 50.5 and 43.1 years, respectively. The risk factors associated with the development of breast cancer were age (OR 0.946, CI 95% 0.920-0.973 p = 0.000), family history of CAMA (OR 0.275, CI% 95% 0.837-1.126 p = 0.000) and consumption of alcohol (OR 4.151, CI 95% 1.772-9.725 p = 0.001). Conclusión: The prevalence of breast cancer is associated with non-modifiable risk factors such as: older women and family history of breast cancer. Other non-modifiable risk factors such as alcohol consumption are associated with an increase in suffering from this neoplasm.

Objective: To analyze the scientific evidence available on the external and internal distractions of the health worker and worker during the workday. Method: Bibliographic review in five databases between the years 2001 and 2021. Main results: External (electronic devices, noise pollution) and internal (anxiety, physiological needs) distractions with a greater presence in the work environment that have as a consequence errors in the execution of procedures, delays in the provision of the service and influence on work performance. General conclusion: The scientific evidence found in this phenomenon was scarce. The most reported external distractions were the use of electronic devices and noise pollution, while internal distractions covered emotional aspects and biological needs. Few studies propose strategies to mitigate their impact, which is why they are invited to unify them in a single intervention and thus enhance their effect.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is made up of a group of memory progression disorders, mainly, but with impairments in other cognitive functions that lead to functional decline that progressively reduces autonomy in people who suffer from it. Since the diagnosis of Alzheimer's in the elderly, care has been explicit, initiating a series of changes in the family, which range from assuming a new role to emotional and economic transitions. The caregiver is hardly cared for, most care strategies are aimed at training the caregiver for care. There are several non-pharmacological techniques such as art therapy, however, they are oriented towards the patient suffering from the disease, not the caregiver. Art therapy can be implemented by nursing staff in order to enhance the communication and expression of emotions of caregivers, therefore the objective is to propose a nursing intervention based on art therapy for caregivers of older adults with Alzheimer's.

Speaking of health care, it is convenient to recognize the influence that the meanings that people have generated about health and disease have on it from the interaction with their context and previous experiences with similar situations of their own or others, for which this part of how the health situation is perceived based on its meanings, it is essential to keep it in mind when providing the care that nursing professionals provide to their patients, since the success or failure of the interventions is directly related to observing these meanings. That is why, through Herbert Blumer's symbolic interactionism, it is intended to help understand that the meaning of health care has its origin in social interaction and the importance that this has in order to understand the behavior of people in specific situations, like health care.
