Summary The diagnosis of lung cancer (LC) is made in advanced stages. In this sense, High Resolution Computed Tomography (HRCT) allows to demonstrate the presence of the disease in cases with normal radiography. The present article aims to characterize the pulmonary patterns associated with LC by HRCT, in patients treated at the National Institute of Oncology and Radiobiology of Cuba (NIOR), during the period between 2017 and 2018. The type of study was descriptive, of retrospective cohort. 53 patients with LC were studied. The information was obtained from the database of the Department of Imaging and the Clinical History. The data was processed in an automated way (SPSS version 22.0). Frequency distribution analysis and the independence test were used. In the main results, it is highlighted that most of the lung tumors presented central location (64.2%). High attenuation patterns predominated (67.9%). No significant differences were found, when comparing the frequencies of the histological varieties between each of the patterns, with the rest of them (p values> 0.05). It was concluded that the high frequency of central radiological presentation of lung tumors in our study does not coincide with the national and international reports. This study does not provide sufficient evidence to be able to suggest that there is a relationship between imaging patterns, forms of radiological presentation, or histological varieties of lung cancer.

The objective of this research is to determine the relationship between resilience and coping  strategies present in graduate students of Clinical Psychology of the Technical University of Manabí (UTM), during the COVID-19 pandemic, between the months of July and August of 2020.A mixed research approach, both qualitative and quantitative, and a descriptive-correlational design were used. 69 students participated in the study to whom a sociodemographic record was applied to know the characteristics of the sample, a resilience scale to identify the levels of resilience present and an inventory of coping strategies to characterize the most used coping strategies. The main results highlight that the graduate students have good scores in the levels of resilience, the variables and characteristics of the sample show little statistically significant difference and the levels of resilience have a weak correlation with adaptive coping strategies.

The teaching-learning methodologies used in Higher Education may have different approaches, which are distinguished from each other by the way the student learns. The choice of methodology varies depending on the competences that the teacher wishes to obtain in his students. The constructivist methodology does not have specific forms of teaching, but it does provide elements for analysis and reflection on educational practice. There are many authors who have contributed their ideas and reflections on the subject. This work aims to specify constructivist methodologies for the teaching-learning process in higher education, in order to develop training workshops for teachers on the subject based on the active role of students in the development of the educational teaching process. The research was carried out by means of a descriptive, prospective and quantitative longitudinal study based on inductive and analytical methods, the universe was made up of teachers who participated in the X Scientific Methodological Seminar of the careers of Agricultural Engineering and Computer Engineering and Networks of the State University of the South of Manabí. The results reflect that the indicators of mastery of the constructivist teaching-learning methodologies according to the educational model applied in the university showed difficulties in the adequate application, in the class for a better development of the educational teaching process.

The objective of this article is to evaluate the management of academic coordination and determine the degree of satisfaction of students in the leveling process in leveling courses at the Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí, Ecuador. Work was done under a qualitative-quantitative-descriptive-taxonomic approach, with analysis of each of the variables. The main results show determining aspects with quality, referring to the fragile conditions of infrastructure, access to the minimum necessary didactic and technological means. It is evidenced that 91% of the students were satisfied with regard to the topics learned and their usefulness for the learners in learning. The use of counterweights as a management strategy that mitigates the impact of the deficiencies is verified and finally, it is confirmed that the answers in the evaluation to the students are contradictory before an observable reality, favoring their analysis in subsequent investigations.

This research presents the result of a project developed at the State University of the South of Manabí developed in the months of January to March of 2017 in the city of Jipijapa, Manabí, Ecuador. This research aims to evaluate the environmental impact produced by the generation of waste, both solid and liquid, in the mechanical workshops of Jipijapa. The following scientific methods were used in the study: observation, interview, documentary analysis, analysis-synthesis and induction-deduction. Visits were made to all active workshops in the canton. The main results stand out that the pollutant load of each of the workshops was determined and the conditions were created to develop a plan of mitigation measures that, once implemented, reduce the impact on the environment in the city. It was possible to draw the attention of the authorities to this environmental problem and it was determined that the waste is discharged without control in the surrounding areas, endangering the health of people and biological diversity in the area.
