Resumen
Lately, Knowledge Management Systems has gained a privileged place within organizational systems; its operation starting point is the knowledge “estimation” and its management. That “estimate” provides findings that account the efforts to manage this intangible resource, as well as the obtained results, from which emerges decision-making in terms of policies, procedures and processes that expedite knowledge creation, warehousing, distribution, use and measurement at the organization. Due to difficulties in analyzing and interpreting obtained information from that knowledge “estimation”, a descriptive documentary and purposeful analysis design research type was conducted, using the empirical-analytical method of scientific observation, with the objective to develop a proposal for Knowledge Management representation derived from its current status’ estimation, using knowledge management tools.

Currently, the growing interest in the study of small and medium-sized enterprises (SME’s) in the tourism sector has led to an increase in the development of research that addresses all kinds of relationships and variables. However, the communication climate (CC) is an element that has been scarcely studied in this context. This paper aims to address this gap, through a questionnaire applied to 260 companies in the sector. With the intention of exploring the relationship between trust (TT), participation in decision-making (PDM), support (SUP), openness in downward communication (ODC) and upward communication (OUC) and interest in high impact goals (IHG) with respect to (CC). The results indicate that all the variables include the positive-significant form in the (CC). Some implications are discussed.

Resumen
This document exposes a wider vision in the discipline of design within the business environment. Often, businesses limit the work of designers to areas such as corporate communication, brand image or identity and product or space design. However, here we aim to show design´s relevance and importance from a more inclusive, holistic and multidisciplinary perspective within the business environment. Explaining the relationship between design and the decision-making process for goods and services, product design and the impact this may have in problem solving processes from a responsible and critical point of view. Finally, we may appreciate the intervention and knowledge granted by design management, disregarding the company size; design responsibility and its mediator capabilities will ultimately define its interaction with individuals and the environment through sustainability
