In the veterinary clinic, contraceptive surgery is the most commonly performed surgery in female cats. However, it is not established which surgical technique is the most appropriate. In order to reduce postoperative pain, recovery time, surgery time and technical ease for the surgeon, different surgical techniques and variations of these techniques have been described. This has created the dilemma of performing ovariohysterectomy versus oophorectomy; type of approach: midline, lateral or laparoscopic; and method of ovarian pedicle ligation: harmonic scalpel, plastic and titanium clips, bipolar electrocautery, pedicle knot and traditional ligation. With this in mind, with the objective of establishing which is the most adequate contraceptive surgery in female cats and supported by evidence-based medicine, a systematic review was carried out. Using Google Scholar, Web of Science, PubMed and Scielo search engines, with the following variables to be evaluated: pain, time and technical difficulty. It was found that there is little evidence to establish the superiority of any surgical technique over another and that the choice of surgical technique should be made based on the patient, the surgeon's skills and the availability of materials.

Resumen
The objetive of this research was to evaluate the nutritive and fermentative quality and methane emissions in corn stover silages with nopal (Opuntia ficus-indica), for which three experimental treatments were evaluated, T1: corn fodder; T2: 75 % corn stover + 25 % nopal; and T3: 75 % corn stover + 25 % fermented nopal. Twenty-one micro-silos (7 per treatment) were prepared in plastic containers and left to ferment for 30 days. At the end of fermentation, the chemical composition, fermentation parameters, gas production and methane (CH4) were evaluated. Dry matter (DM), crude protein (CP), neutral detergent fiber (NDF) and acid detergent fiber (ADF) contents were different among treatments (p

Resumen
Ambystoma mexicanum is in danger of extinction in free-living, due to anthropogenic actions; sperm cryopreservation for captive breeding can help in its ex-situ conservation. This research aimed to identify the viability of fresh and post-thawing sperm from different spermatophores. During the breeding season, spermatophores releasing was induced in nine specimens by reducing water temperature. The mean concentration per spermatophores was 2.6 ± 0.6 x104 sperm. A reduction of 30 % of living sperms and an increase of 15 % of abnormal morphology were determined in fresh and post-thawing sperm. With the WGA and PNA lectins bounded to FITC, two different fluorescence patterns were determined in each one, which showed the membrane presence and distribution of N-acetyl glucosamine, sialic acid, and mannose respectively. Sperm percentages in each fluorescence pattern showed differences associated with the number of spermatophores in each release. Differences in sperm viability from releases with different numbers of spermatophores were determined. The sperm collection and cryopreservation protocol of A mexicanum were efficient as tools for using cryopreserved semen for ex situ reproduction.

Resumen
The white-toothed woodrat (Neotoma leucodon) inhabits the arid zones of north-central Mexico and is important for rural communities for food and economic income. The objective was to characterize the habitat of the white-toothed woodrat in the Potosino-Zacatecano Plateau. In 44 sites with burrows and 44 random sites, the altitude, slope, slope exposure, ground cover: shrubs, grasses, rock, woody material and bare soil, as well as the density of cactus, agave, shrubs and palms were recorded. In addition, 21 hunter-gatherers (H-G) were surveyed about woodrat habitat conditions. The woodrat builds its burrows in agaves (40.4 %) and 47.6 % of the H-Gs stated that the woodrat was more frequent in nopal cactus. Ninety % of the burrows were located on terrain with low slopes (≤ 4 %), where shrub density and cover were dominant (2085.6 ± 1825 ha -1, 36.1 ± 17.5%, respectively). Rat burrows are associated with shrubs and cactus, as they provide them with food and protection from predators. The H-G consider that in order to conserve the woodrat it is necessary to allow them to reproduce, establish hunting seasons and maintain the vegetation.

Resumen
In Mexico, bullfrog (Lithobates catesbeianus) production is carried out in only 35 animal production units, and improvements in its commercialization are necessary to increase demand. Faced with these challenges, innovative technological options such as Biofloc are emerging, which improve production efficiency in favor of environmental, economic and social sustainability. Thus, this study measured the effect of using reused water from a Biofloc system for tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) culture in the intensive production of bullfrogs (Lithobates catesbeianus). With a biological material of 4,000 organisms (Lithobates catesbeianus), treatments were evaluated: T1 (drinking water), T2 (30% Biofloc reuse water), T3(60% Biofloc reuse water) and T4 (90% Biofloc reuse water); the variables Weight Gain (WG), Specific Growth Rate (SGR), Survival Percentage (%S), Survival Rate (SR) and Feed Conversion (FC) were measured. The results were analyzed in SPSS Statistic version 27.0.0 with an ANOVA and Mauchly's test of sphericity. The results showed that intensive production of bullfrogs (Lithobates catesbeianus) with reused water from a Biofloc system of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) culture is feasible.

Resumen
Cryopreservation induces oxidative stress that has adverse effects on post-thawed semen quality. The objective was to evaluate the effect of adding quercetin to sheep semen cryopreservation medium. Semen was collected from three sheep stallions by artificial vagina, and a commercial diluent was used. Treatments were: control; quercetin 200 µM; vitamin E 100 µM; and the quercetin and vitamin E combination. Vitality, motility, acrosome integrity and fertility were evaluated in vivo. Numerical variables were analyzed with ANOVA and gestation rate with chi-square. In the evaluation of sperm motility characteristics, no significant difference was found between treatments. The treatment with the highest percentage of live spermatozoa with intact acrosome was quercetin 200 µM (22.33±2.51%) compared to the other treatments (P

Resumen
One of the obstacles poultry producers face is the mutation suffered by pathogens that complicate the combat againts them; due to this, there are considered alternatives to improve productive and immunological parameters. The present study evaluated feed intake, weight gain, feed conversion, Newcastle antibody titers, and mortality in broilers, adding their diet with sulfated polysaccharides extracted from seaweed (PS). The experiment consisted of four treatments with six repetitions, each one with 25 animals of Cobb genetics. The treatments were: control with vaccination, control with PS, and PS with the vaccine. The food was weighed daily, the rejections and the birds were weighed weekly, blood samples were taken at days 9, 21, 28, 35, and 42 of life to determine antibodies to Newcastle. The control group PS obtained the best food conversion with 1.83 (P
