Resumen
The uses and users of the Centro de Memória da Educação Física, do Esporte e do Lazer (UFMG) are analyzed starting from an educational action developed at the Ways of Measuring Bodies exhibit. Documentary and bibliographic researches were conducted. There was an increase in the quantity and variety of users, widening of collection exposure, scientific awareness and construction of critical understanding of subjects involved.

Resumen
The article addresses concepts related to users studies and informational behavior in archives. It argues that although the collection of large volumes of data, or big data, enhances the analysis of the uses of information, it also produces risks in relation to privacy. It addresses the general data protection law of Brazil and the ethical-legal issues in the development of studies of archives’ users.

Resumen
The research presents guidelines for the use of social networks by Brazilian public archives, characterizing the need for a specific team to create content on social networks, to plan, to assess the performance in relation to the objectives, besides publicizing the indicators achieved with sharing, comments and interactions of the posts of each virtual social network.

Resumen
The International Archives Council is developing the new archival description standard, Records in Contexts (RiC), to meet the current reality of archives, paying particular attention to digital documents. The present work studies the possible impacts to archives users, either people or information systems, caused by the replacement of the current archival description standards by the RiC.

It presents the analysis of the users' profile and the uses of the fonds of the Arquivo Público Municipal de Vitória, through a documentary research based in 109 service forms of the institution. As a result, predominances were identified in relation to the purpose of the research; occupation and location of users; informational needs and consulted materials.

The scientific events in archival science are a space for reflection on the theoretical and practical aspects of the archivist’s professional practice. Through an exploratory research, addressing the qualitative and quantitative aspects, the points of discussion about users in the editions of the national archival science conference were analyzed, showing a very small participation.

Resumen
This article discusses the reformatting of documents in the Brazilian legal context. They have been analyzed from the microfilming law to the latest draft legislation on digitization. It highlights that digitization advances in public institutions without being in line with a document management program for these digital surrogates that do not meet the requirements for authenticity assurance.

Resumen
In 1817, the Spanish king decreed the emancipation of over two hundred Africans transported on the Dos Hermanos frigate, who had been sold as slaves in Cuba in 1795. Regarding this interesting process, this paper explains some of the characteristics of mothering under slavery, including the freedwomen’s efforts to rescue their children and regain control over their fates.

Resumen
The article discusses the relations between feminism and catholic conservatism from the beginning of the 20th century, a subject that has not been widely explored by women's studies. It also analyzes the disputes around the meaning of feminism in Amélia Rodrigues's texts, a writer from Bahia, starting from her considerations about suffragism and the social action of catholic women.

Ana Rita Fonteles Duarte é professora efetiva do Departamento de História da Universidade Federal do Ceará, atuando nas linhas de pesquisa Cultura e Poder e Memória e Temporalidades do Programa de Pós-Graduação em História da instituição. É também coordenadora do Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisas em História e Gênero, junto ao CNPq. Entre seus livros publicados estão Carmen da Silva − o feminismo na imprensa brasileira (2005) e Jogos da memória − o movimento feminino pela anistia no Ceará (1976-1979), lançado em 2012.
A entrevista foi realizada por Magali Engel, uma das editoras convidadas deste número. Doutora em História pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas, foi professora na Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF), na Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (Uerj) e, atualmente, é professora visitante na UniversidadeFederal da Bahia (Ufba).
