Resumen
The present article examines the contradictions, fantasies and mythifications of the trial against the Mexican trafficker Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, which took place in New York City between Nov. 5, 2018 and Feb. 12, 2019. Drawing from the works of Antonio Gramsci and Ernesto Laclau, I analyze the hegemonic imaginary of the “war against drugs” which legitimized the judicial process and its implications for the fields of cultural production and the “national security” agenda in the current government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador. I argue how that imaginary has been originally articulated by U.S. institutions generating a “narconarrative” which mediates in the national comprehension of the phenomenon, which in turn conditions the strategy of pacification set forth by the López Obrador government.

Resumen
This article questions a predominant narrative promoted by the Mexican State since 2006 with the war it held against different drug trafficking groups, which is the categorical opposition between victims and victimizers. Those categories deal with the connotations of pain and horror they embody respectively. The aim is to revisit the dynamic processes between the unimaginable and the openness to the imaginable. To do so, we will analyse a number of fragments of two documentary films: La libertad del diablo by Everardo González (2017) and Soles negros by Julien Elie (2018). Here we explore the symbolic processes of dealing with the recent violence in this country.

Resumen
This article makes a comparative analysis between the different worker experiences developed in two company unions of the Fiat Group in Argentina in the period after Cordobazo (1969). While at the SITRAC, in the Concord plant in Córdoba, there was a strong unrest and a confrontational and radicalized trade union action (clasismo), at the SITRAFIC, in the Palomar plant in Buenos Aires, the conflict was limited and remained the predominance of a negotiating and conciliatory unionism (vandorismo). In order to explain these different trajectories, we analyze the union experiences of both working groups and the relationship between both processes.

Resumen
Starting from Zavala’s concern about the political neutralization of the narcoculture products, this paper aims to rebuild a re-politization of journalism from literature. We analyse the ethical, esthetical, and political implication of the fictionalization of the journalist, their voice and body, in the novels by Roberto Bolaño, Cristina Rivera Garza and Pedro Ángel Palou, which deal with narcoviolence in an explicit or implicit way. The symbolic characters created by those authors set an urgent discourse on the responsibility of art and journalism about how to represent narco and its social effects.

Resumen
In this essay I propose a reflection on the dialogical reasons of the testimony and the traditional concept of history. Starting from the ethics of dialogical communication and the anachronisms of memory, the novel A Costa dos Murmúrios by Lidia Jorge juxtaposes two versions of the past: a fictional representation of the colonial wars and a woman’s testimonial. Through the dialogue with an absent character as well as with the very structure of the narrative, Eva Lopo calls into question the testimonial device of those who in a critical way witness in loco and a posteriori the end of an empire.

Resumen
Since the eighties, Santa Catarina Island has become a tourist and housing destination for many Brazilians and foreigners, usually people with high cultural or economic capital. The analysis of the dynamics between transformations that "come from outside" and the local reception of them allows, as well as reflecting on these social transformations, to grasp invention’s processes at the local level, of categories such as environmentalism, sustainability. Moreover, it underlines the role of migrants in this specific space-time and their territoriality in contexts of cultural hybridization.

Resumen
Since the analysis of the female characters that appear in Regàs’ and Janés’ memoirs, this paper goes depth into the condition of women in the XX century in Spain. Through the portraits that each memoirist creates in her text, it is possible to see how two generations of women lived. On the one hand, the stories of those women who, after the unsuccessful republican experience, adapted themselves to the patriarchal society of the Franquoist regime. On the other, all those women who rise up against the male subjection, claiming their role of Modern Woman just before the establishment of democracy.

Resumen
Between the 14th and 15th centuries, the secular and ecclesiastical authorities of Castile and Portugal dedicated themselves to establishing laws and rules to stimulate the production of bread, highlighting its material and symbolic importance. From this documentary set, composed mainly of chapters on cuts, ordinances, chronicles and treaties, that is writings that guided and gave meaning to the practices of men, we will question the values associated with the consumption and cultivation of bread in both Iberian kingdoms in order to examine the construction of a common moral.

Resumen
This article analyzes the role of absence in Sara Uribe’s Antígona Gonzalez through the work’s construction of characters, portrayal of violence, and conceptualization of justice. By considering Antígona González as a “narconarrative”, this study illustrates how the work is innovative vis-à-vis most texts that stem from geographies and communities plagued by narcotraffic. Ultimately, this analysis examines how Antígona González engages in a dialogue with “narcoculture” and its glamorization by casting light on the often-ignored themes of absence and disappearance.
