Resumen
We propose a perspective on the figure of the devil of love developed between the 16th and 18th centuries in Peru and Chile as a cultural construct that persecutes female affection and carnality. For this purpose, we address the damning records such as the demonization of love and sexual temptation, the act of kissing and female flirtatiousness through clothing as well as the theological discussions that validated restrictions using the devil as a resource. A case analysis methodology is used, theoretically supported by authors who have addressed the issue of demonization and women.

Resumen
This article provides a critical revision of the literature dealing with indigenous rebellions in the Andes, which has set the pace for the current debates and agendas. I put forth this revision as a starting point to rethink the ways in which these revolts are theorized and interpreted, and to recognize the central role that the impact of regional mobilizations holds globally. I start from the bibliography on rebellions between 1970 and 1990, to later highlight more recent literature. This recent literature has been marked by the agenda established in the previous stage, and further denoted by new questions around the nature of the political sphere, and the links between the material and the cultural ones, as well as the subaltern agency.

Resumen
The essay examines the complex relationship between the Chilean military dictatorship and the symbolic production about it. Specifically, we will analyze the neovanguardist art of Escena de Avanzada, whose artistic practices provide interesting visual and discursive materials. Those materials help to understand how experimental art was trying to reconfigure the Chilean artistic field and produce a critical discourse against the shuddering landscape imposed by the dictatorship. All this led to a counter-hegemonic look at the readability of history in a context of horror and destruction of the human condition.

Resumen
This article aims to discuss aspects of the civil-military dictatorship in Brazil (1964-1985) from two filmographic works: O ano em que meus pais saíram de férias (2006) and Pra frente, Brasil (1982). Therefore, considerations are made about the context of dictatorship, especially regarding the curtailment of freedom, censorship, and repression. Knowing that the films, although fictional, help to reflect on the past, both works are taken as a historical source for the study of the Brazilian dictatorial regime, because they portray the 1970s, the period of the hardest dictatorship.

Resumen
The article studies a selection of texts published in the early years of the 21st century by the cuban writer Orlando Luis Pardo Lazo, one of the main exponents of the so-called Generation Zero. The essay examines the representation of the writer in those texts, and analyzes the policies of writing that these writers propose in order to solve two problems that affect his/her literary production conditions: the institutionalization of language and the monumentalization of archive by the state and its cultural authorities. The article seeks to understand how the new generations of writers are considering the relationship between literature and politics in Cuba.

Resumen
Since the 1990s several Latin American countries have entered a phase defined as “post-conflict”. This concept has quickly ceased to indicate a new beginning to become a common place underlining a governmentality model in continuity with the past, or a synonym for neoliberalism. In this paper we analyse the case of Guatemala. We propose that the ethics of compassion, based on the ideas of Human Rights and ethnic identity, although allowing the end of the war and the envision peace, it shapes a post-conflict order that perpetuates inequality, favours social violence (emblematically represented by the mara phenomenon) and criminalizes poverty.

Resumen
1829 began in Mexico with a political crisis due to the result of the presidential elections and the expulsion of the Spaniards, quite apart from the fact that both entities had its own problems. This context will be reflected in two riots that took place in the city of Sombrerete, where different demands came together as a representation of the participating social sectors. Those riots are studied as expressions of popular politics showing the tensions between ruled and rulers. For this reason, the aim of this essay is to analyze who took part in the riots and why, as well as what were the reactions of the government.

Resumen
This paper aims to investigate the concept of “limit” in Hay algo que no es como me dicen, el caso de Nevenka Fernández contra la realidad by Juan José Millás, a work characterized by an interaction between literary writing and reportorial writing. From a methodological point of view, the very concept of limit or border refers to the analyses of hybrid genres, as stated in the works by Sobejano, Chillón and Valls. Our goal will be to explain and examine the creative ways that allow the coexistence of literary writing and reportorial writing.

Resumen
The present work tries to develop the analysis of the poetic composition of Martín Fierro, by José Hernández, considering the plot of political, ideological, historical and biographical motifs that are part of the textuality. We will address the tensions that go through the subjectivity that goes from the author image to the main character. Those tensions will be considered as contextual conditions between the two parts, which make up the entire poem: La Ida (1872) and La Vuelta (1879).
