Nayib Bukele assumed as president of El Salvador on June 1st, 2019. His victory ended the bipartidism that had prevailed for thirty years in the country between FMLN and ARENA. The youngest Latin American president is now known as a millennial due to his presence in social networks. Bukele constantly uses these tools as a means of political communication. This article aims to investigate the construction of Nayib Bukele’s political discourse on his Twitter account during his first hundred days of government. It seeks to figure out how he has built a deideologized and ahistorical discourse around the idea of efficiency, transparency and good administration of the State’s resources.

Under the complexity and uncertainties of actual markets, and as never before, customers are disrupting the business game from the outside, transforming the way organizations/functional areas operate, and how people think and act. Because of this, it is necessary to focus on customer’ long-term value, new organizational models, changing role of the Business/Marketing Officer, out-of-the-box capabilities, and digital technologies integration, for which Customer Experience (CE) operation levels are required to be raised in many more organizations. As a consequence, a link-to-value perspective on CE operation must be instilled at company-wide, focusing on the customer model/journey and on a new mindset, needed to implement an eco-friendly business environment. It is studied CE, customer long-term value and related matters, proposing ideas for a better implementation in firms of every industrial sector and size. The hypothesis of this work -which was corroborated- suggests that it is possible to enhance company results, performance and competitiveness raising its CE operation level and implementing an ecofriendly business environment. It was used a qualitative methodology with a bibliographical, exploratory and descriptive study, and a not experimental and transversal design.

This paper discusses the relationship between design and engineering through interdisciplinary teaching experiences for raising circular economy awareness. Education is essential to enable this process in a systemic way for future professionals in both areas, introducing integrated project methodologies in product design and manufacturing. The goal is that in addition to the areas of expertise (architecture, design, management and engineering), prospects are established to rethink the current path of economic development. This will create a skills base to promote circular innovation, aligned with the need for modern societies to move towards a more sustainable paradigm

If we take as starting point the emergence of the Bauhaus school, Design as a discipline - a conjunction of theory, practice and education – completes, in 2019, a century of existence. Over that time, it has evolved into a fundamental element of contemporary society, marked by mass production and consumption, urbanization, and the revolution in information and communication technologies. Its original essence and function - to plan and shape all the artificial things that humanity creates, guided by a rationalist and deterministic idea, in search of definitive solutions - had to be transformed to meet the demands of society. More recently, the demand for contextualization, digital media, and the development of so-called active matter point to even deeper disruptions. In this paper, we make a historical and critical review of Design, and - from four turning points - we propose a new look at the most fundamental aspects of the discipline and its challenges for the future.

This paper provides a vision regarding the design of materials as a theme of industrial design, generated from the influence of the Italian referent based on the design philosophy of Carmelo Di Bartolo. Its objective is to demonstrate the contributions of basic design linked to bionics, applied to the construction of a projective methodological approach of the observant industrial design of the materials that make up the artifices. Basic design is the method based on the observation of nature, from which designers extrapolate bionic principles towards the conception of the artificial world. The relevance is the ability to integrate contributions to the field of energy savings, material and an intrinsic commitment to the environment. Not because of having extensive economic, productive and technological resources, the creative process must be unlimited and excessive. Approaches are presented that are expressed in the integrative project process called Material Driven Design, which incorporates the concept of perceived quality to integrate functional and emotional aspects of materials. The conclusions are related to the considerations that the three aspects (Basic design, bionics, and Material Driven Design) contribute to the design process.

This text aims to demonstrate how Digital Printing Inkjet technologies are enabling the visual characteristics of surfaces of a different nature to rekindle the discussion between nature and artifice, because the artificial object is leaving transforming into nature as the basis of technological civilization. It seeks to distance himself from the treatment of matter as a result of the complex creative act that achieves something unique and unique. It aims to observe the creative work supported by Digital Printing Inkjet technologies, on human artifacts, objects and habitats. For this reason, it is available as an exploratory observation to obtain a judgement on the problem and as an introductory part of a descriptive study. This text is considered an exploratory research, because it seeks to know the relationship between matter and artifice, focused from the potential of Digital Printing Inkjet technology.

Designing for people, their environment and their situation also means changing the approach towards human beings, their experiences and their context. It is necessary to go from a change in unconscious development, that is, only due to increased productivity, to conscious considering the cycles of the elements and their impact in the future. Design careers likewise have undergone a shift in focus from object to subject. The problems’ complexity gives designers more possibilities of development, but the limits of the discipline are more blurred. This work explores the link between design education and distributed economy based on the concepts proposed by Ezio Manzini, Brown's emerging theory, and Diamandis' exponential thinking. Because of that, several design exercises and experiences are reviewed. The intention is to achieve a better understanding of how these concepts contribute to projecting more strategic design solutions ad hoc for new development models such as distributed economies.

Undertaking recycling initiatives with a real impact is not so easy. Closing the loop to a circular economy business model carries additional complexity, but increases the potential for profitability and thus economic sustainability. It requires an operational and commercial structure, which is difficult for entrepreneurs to achieve. BYOS as a venture capital company created in 2016, works in the life cycle of vegetable oils. This article describes the itinerary realized, from the initial idea to the concretion of a circular economy business, with special emphasis on the role of the stakeholders involved. All of them fulfill several simultaneous roles in the circular economy process. From the fundamental role of the public sector, passing through consumers and citizens, erected, at the same time, as collaborators and auditors, to reaching the companies with whom they operate daily
