The financial institutions increasingly offer more services to their customers through the internet, and in this context this study addresses the objective of analyzing how online trust and users’ satisfaction influence on the intention to use financial services through the internet. To address this goal, the present study proposes a conceptual model through PLS-SEM (Partial Least Squares). The obtained findings show that the user trust depends on the system security, usefulness and the competence of the financial institution; highlighting the impact of trust, ease of use and design on users’ satisfaction with online financial services.

Salmea scandens, it is known as chili stick, is an economically important plant in the Oaxaca coast region. To document the traditional knowledge of its use and the nutritional content of the edible part, the present study was conducted in Buena Vista Loxicha, Pochutla, Oaxaca, Mexico. Semi-structured interviews were applied. In stem, crude fiber, fat, protein and minerals were quantified. Two morphotypes, chili white stick and chili black stick were found, with edible and medicinal uses. Vascular stem cambium is eaten, preferably boiled, which contains 9.44% of raw fiber, 2.51% fat and 3.10% protein es consumed. The most abundant mineral was potassium with 505.53 mg 100 g-1.

A statistical correlation study is carried out between numerical data corresponding to the concentration of the suspended particles and the concentration of polluting gases which are obtained from the measurements registered in the Automatic Atmospheric Monitoring Network database (RAMA) for Mexico City and the Metropolitan Area. An important dependency between the gas pairs NO2-NOX, NO-NOX, CO-NO, CO-NOX and the PM2.5-PM10, PMCO-PM10 particle pairs is reported when the study is carried out with reference to a single monitoring station. On the other hand, there is a close relationship between ozone (O3) from one station with ozone to another for different pairs of stations.

High blood pressure, diabetes mellitus type 2 and cancer are important chronic diseases, which have a high demand in the use of alternative treatments. The objective of this study was to analyze the traditional knowledge of complementary alternative medicine for chronic diseases in communities at southern Oaxaca, Mexico. For this purpose, 65 traditional doctors were interviewed selectively and using the ethnographic method in 2016. We found 52 species to control diabetes mellitus type 2, 49 to regulate arterial hypertension and 37 as a treatment for cancer. In the communities of southern Oaxaca more than 50% of traditional doctors have acquired their knowledge from their ancestors’ legacy, which in some ways complements the lack of access to health services in the state.

We consider some aspects of the inciting relation between gravity and thermodynamics and describe how this has led to propose that gravity is not a fundamental interaction, but an emergent phenomenon with a statistical thermodynamic origin. To develop this idea, first, we briefly review the main aspects of black hole thermodynamics and the Unruh effect. Then, we present the work of T. Jacobson and outline the idea proposed by E. P. Verlinde that gravity is an entropic force. Finally, we discuss some of the consequences that follow from considering gravity as an emergent phenomenon and how this new concept may be important to solve some problems that current gravity models have failed to solve.

This article proposes a reading of the performance work of Mexican artist Rocío Boliver from the perspective of critical cynicism. The artistic and political stance of the avant-garde of the XXth century has similarities with the principles of cynicism, a philosophical current that, since its genesis, has proposed the dismantling of normative discourses that carry effects on the body. In this essay, a parallel will be made between cynical bodily practices and action art. Subsequently, some performances by Rocío Boliver will be analyzed to demonstrate her cynical character based on the restoration of female sexuality and its deconstruction. With this, it will be evident that both cynicism and performance art propose a resignification of the body, art itself and its social conventions.

The Gleaners and I (2000), Agnès Varda's documentary, begins by reflecting on Millet's famous painting from the 19th century and the labor of gleaning. Harvesting in those times is in contrast with the work of the gleaners of today, who must survive with what they can gather on the streets. This montage of daily life in two eras and the filmmaker's own experience allows a dialogue to be established with Walter Benjamin's work about everyday life. Benjamin writes about 19th century authors and the experience of loss or shock in modernity, and the role of memory in the face of this loss. In this sense, the concepts of experience and time are involved in the memory and history of everyday life. Varda and Benjamin, also in dialogue with other thinkers, seek an everyday life in a time that is hardly progressive.

This article goes over some concepts that stucture Aby Warburg's (1866-1929) thinking to, through his methodological keys, deepen into the interpretation of Antonio Berni's artistic work produced between the 50's and the 80's. During this period of time the artist incorporates a variety of materials and objects into the space of representation that distinct it. Recovering certain conceptual forms from Warburg and applying them over a specific case like the installation The innocents slaughter produced by the artist in Paris between 1971 and 1972, will allow us to explore the richness of the statement condensed in this works by Berni in their material dimension.
