The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of parental styles on the affective development of children between 4 and 5 years of age. The methodology was of mixed approach, field, bibliographic type and under the method of analysis-synthesis reasoning. The research techniques were an interview to the director of the institution, a survey addressed to parents and a checklist applied to the children. The results showed that the authoritarian and permissive style is the most prevalent in 4-year-old children. In addition, it was noted that the communication and family functionality used by parents have a direct consequence on the emotional state of the children.

Building knowledge involves teaching methods accompanied by strategies, for education these components are necessary and complement each other, one of these methods are the literacy processes that are combined with different types of practices to develop properly; the purpose of this research was to strengthen these literacy processes through animation by photogram, for this a qualitative approach was developed under an action research design, where collecting information was mediated by observation, tests and didactic sequence.

The article deals with the comparison between Multiple Linear Regression models vs supervised Artificial Neural Networks in the prediction of academic performance in the form of grades of the Ser-Bachiller evaluation of Ecuador, period 2018-2019. This by testing assumptions and calculating adequacy measures to identify the best prediction method. To meet the objective, information from the results of the Ser-Bachiller tests of Ecuador in the 2018-2019 cycle whose database is located on the official website of the National Institute of Educational Evaluation was used. There were 514852 students evaluated from all over the country. With this information we compared models that predict the scores in the domains of Mathematics, Linguistics, Science and Social Sciences, through factors associated with academic performance of Institutional, Pedagogical, Psychosocial and sociodemographic type.

Este artigo propõe 12 alternativas para reforçar a educação virtual através das Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação (TIC ) com base num estudo descritivo-quantitativo através de inquéritos a uma amostra de 50 estudantes do Centro de Admissão e Nivelamento da Escola Politécnica de Chimborazo (ESPOCH), Equador. Verificou-se que os estudantes consideram eficiente a utilização das TIC pelos professores . Além disso, os professores organizam as suas actividades de forma adequada para o desenvolvimento de aulas virtuais, com um acompanhamento contínuo antes, durante e depois das aulas. Algumas das alternativas foram encontrar um parceiro TIC adequado, encorajando o trabalho de grupo, formação envolvendo colegas . Conclui-se que as TIC na modalidade virtual são ferramentas pedagógicas essenciais utilizadas para um desenvolvimento e aprendizagem complementares dos alunos.

With the health crisis that humanity went through with the appearance of Covid-19, many countries are facing a great challenge, which is to be able to achieve the continuation of studies while complying with the social distancing and maintaining the same quality in education. In this sense, technological tools are shown as a means that helps and supports through its various educational programs the teaching-learning processes. The new era of technology forces education to change from its foundations in order to achieve in students an integral formation and as part of it, the ability to learn. The research developed for this proposal was of an exploratory qualitative type, sources were collected from different research works, web pages, articles in which the problem that many teachers have when developing new and practical educational resources was described. This research shows that the use of digital tools in the development of educational resources favors education, making classes more practical, interactive and dynamic.

This paper presents a bibliographic analysis of STEM methodologies in the training of engineers. For this, some scientific articles have been analyzed to know the new trends in engineering for their contribution to modern industry and the development of new technological proposals that contribute to the solution of social needs. In this sense, a brief and concise review has been made without depth to evaluate the trends required by industry 4.0 for new engineering professionals and how this should influence the educational reforms of the training of engineers. The main results show that education in polytechnic schools must readjust their profiles and curricular meshes so that future professionals can be competitive in the digitized industry.

This research was conducted in the university system, with the objective of determining the existence of the reading habit in a segment of its students and how this frequent behavior affects their academic performance. To fulfill this purpose, the population was focused on the seventh semester of the Language and Linguistics career at the University of Guayaquil, to know from their texts the existence of the reading habit and if the documents read have contributed in their learning and academic performance.  The research was framed in the non-experimental qualitative paradigm, with a correlational, transversal, simple descriptive, phenomenological and hermeneutic approach, because it allowed us to encapsulate the opinions of the students at a specific moment, and with this information to analyze and interpret their reading behaviors, and the subsequent connotations.

En este artículo se abordan los diferentes cambios en políticas educativas en el Ecuador, partiendo de un análisis de la historicidad en Argentina, Chile y México, así como de aquellos factores adyacentes a la conso­lidación de las políticas que deberían reflejarse como mejoras en las prácticas educativas propiamente dichas. Es así, que los datos obtenidos en la revisión bibliográfica realizada en artículos publicados en revistas indexadas permiten reconocer los cambios y acciones en estos contextos desde finales del siglo XX y como los mismos se articulan, evolucionan y traducen en políticas públicas que responden a los contextos y necesidades del siglo XXI. Desde un paradigma interpretativo y un enfoque de investigación cualitativo sustentado en el método de revisión bibliográfica, se establece considerar que los procesos educativos estén en constante actua­lización, renovación y direccionados a la realidad de los educandos. En este sentido la formación estudiantil deberá construir un perfil educativo holístico que fomente el pensamiento crítico, creativo y sea un anclaje para la resolución de los conflictos de las sociedades actuales y futuras.

Esta investigación se realizó en una institución educativa de la ciudad de Cuenca (Ecuador) que se fundamenta en la educación bilingüe, empleando AICLE en los procesos educativos. Se contó con la participación de diez docentes y dos personas que integran la dirección de este centro. Estas personas han compartido sus vivencias como profesionales durante la pandemia de covid-19. Por ende, el objetivo central se ha centrado en profundizar y comprender los desafíos y dificultades enfrentados por estos docentes de la educación bilingüe durante la pandemia. Para cumplir con este acometido, este estudio se enmarca dentro del enfoque cualitativo a partir del estudio de caso. Se han empleado técnicas de investigación como la entrevista y diarios de campo para comprender y obtener información. Todos los datos recolectados fueron triangulados, obteniendo de esta manera información con mayor solidez y confiabilidad. Los hallazgos alcanzados tienen que ver con los problemas de bienestar del profesorado y la falta de apoyo por parte de los representantes de los estudiantes. Además, muestran que estos docentes están aún preocupados por las pérdidas de aprendizaje de sus estudiantes y que, al final, concluyen que la covid-19 ha representado un duro reto.

El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo describir contextos y aptitudes de 25 pacientes hombres, del Centro de Tratamiento a personas con Consumo Problemático de Alcohol y Drogas (CETAD) en la ciudad de Azogues, frente a las actividades de promoción a la lectura en contextos de reha­bilitación social. La metodología aplicada fue la Investigación Acción a través del diagnóstico, diseño de un plan de actividades y reflexión de resultados obtenidos mediante la aplicación de instrumentos para la recolección y análisis de la información. Los resultados alcanzados indican una mayor comprensión lectora, incremento en la capacidad de decodificación, reconocer diversos géneros literarios; manejo de emociones como la sorpresa, alegría y tristeza. En cuanto a las aptitudes de los participantes, se evidenció un mejor uso del tiempo a través de la lectura, autonomía en al aprove­chamiento de la nueva biblioteca equipada con 200 obras, recursos que los motivó a incrementar la frecuencia de la práctica lectora y a potenciar diferentes destrezas como la modulación, el léxico, la fluidez verbal, seguridad y creatividad.
