Currently we see that the approach to female sexual and reproductive rights in the field of development cooperation is experiencing a double tension: on the one hand, cooperation agents, especially Non-Governmental Development Organizations (NGDOs) have prioritized their attention over this theme, in the measure in which efforts have been redoubled to prevent, reduce and eradicate the effects of gender inequalities in different areas. On the other hand, there is a clear setback in the exercise and enjoyment of these types of rights worldwide. A possible explanatory hypothesis for this tension is that the different ways of conceptualizing female Sexual and Reproductive Rights condition the situated practices of organizations insofar as they significantly affect their reason for being and their organizational nature. That is why the objective of this work is to investigate how female sexual and reproductive rights are configured and condition the reason for being, the nature and the situated practice of NGDOs.For this, a case study is carried out, the object of which was the development cooperation system in Andalusia. A combination of quantitative - qualitative methodologies was used, although in this work we are going to prioritize the results derived from the structural and dialectical techniques as they are especially significant. This work shows that Andalusian NGDOs move between a tension marked by a proactive interest in this type of rights and a structural deficit of competences to be able to manage them effectively.

The aim of this paper is to identify the manner in which emblematic restaurants are related with the agri-food heritage of Quito from the connection with small local producers. Based on a case study, an analysis was made around empirical observations and secondary sources. The results show that the food offered tend to be acquired from large suppliers of remote areas, decoupling from the local agricultural sector. It is concluded that tourism can play an important role in the equal distribution of income among the diverse economic participants of the sector and in the continuity of the local agri-food systems. For this, the coordination between the tourist and agri-food industries is fundamental, starting with the logic of local commerce.

The frequency and intensity of natural disasters are expected to increase due to climate change. In this context, this work advances in the estimation of an absolute measure of mortality risk generated by natural disasters, in regions of Argentina. In particular, exceedance probabilities of mortality are estimated using the information diffusion method. The historical data of natural disasters provided by the records of DesInventar are used. These records cover the 1970-2015 period and are published by the Social Studies Network in Disaster Prevention in Latin America (LA RED).The results suggest that the Centro region is the one with the highest risk of absolute mortality, while the Noreste region has the lowest risk levels. In a given year there is a 0.93 probability that, at least, one death will occur due to natural disasters in the Centro region. In the Noreste region, this probability is 0.77. The results are robust and significant

In the context of globality, there has been a sustained migration from the countryside to the city, which has generated a loss of traditional knowledge of rural and indigenous Latin American communities.Faced with the need to recover this knowledge, and in this requirement to efficiently manage resources, the objective was to create an initial strategy for evaluating the feasibility of managing this knowledge. For this, two “case studies” were carried out, the “Construction System of mud and straw houses, in the commune of Colchane, Tarapacá region, northern Chile.”, And the “Rural Women’s Table in the commune of Licantén, Maule region, southern Chile. In these cases, it was verified if there is still a system of activities and interconnection between knowledge, which allowed us to corroborate the feasibility of managing this knowledge, as heritage and resource for the sustainable development of the communities in its territory.

This research is based on a descriptive methodology regarding the main urban-architectural typological characteristics of the historic cities of Puebla, Havana and Quito, emphasizing current legislation and conservation policies for their protection. This is due to its complex and diversified political-administrative, cultural, tourist, etc. functions, which continue to maintain a certain homogeneity. However, some interventions jeopardize the conservation and preservation of their tangible and intangible cultural heritage. Therefore, this research is focused on analyzing and comparing regulatory plans and planning tools aimed at both the commercialization and the rehabilitation of the cultural identity of these Novo-Hispanic cities that currently play a relevant role as cultural heritage cities of humanity references Worldwide.

The Eastern Rif Mountains are frequently subject to exceptional rainfall events, whose consequences are sometimes disastrous. The impact of these phenomena on environments is more important as the majorities of slopes are bare and subject to strong human influence. The protective natural forests of the slopes are almost destroyed; they currently cover only a few peaks of mountains in the region. They represent 1.84% of the total area of wadi Tleta sub-basin and only 1.32% of the Tarmast wadi sub-basin. However, croplands, occupying respectively 60% and 34% in the two sub-basins, extend even on the steepest slopes. Similarly, the accelerated and uncontrolled human occupation of the urban peripheries, located downstream of the basins, amplifies the vulnerability of these environments to the hydrological hazards, that threaten several sites surrounding the agglomeration of Taza. Thus, the whole region is subject to different degradation processes. Hydric erosion affects the majority of the slopes; it causes excessive sediment production that may exceed 60 t ha-1 year-1 in some sub-basins. Similarly, flood disasters are quite common in the region. The flood of 20/9/2000 is a reference, with a volume estimated at 4 million m3(DRH-Sebou 2000). Human and material damage was enormous in the rural centers and in the northern outlying districts of Taza. This contribution aims to present and analyze the combined impacts of the extreme rains and the actions of the human societies on the dynamics of the prerifain environment and its adjoining spaces.

The purpose of the investigation, carried out in the municipality of Genoa (Italy), is to verify the existence of a relationship between crime, observed at the place where the criminal act is committed, and social deprivation. In other words, it aims to investigate the relation between crime and social deprivation from a spatial perspective. Crime, which manifests itself in various forms, is identified in the scientific literature from the concept of a “deviant act” that can be analysed with spatially, temporally and psychologically based approaches. Social deprivation, on the other hand, is a complex phenomenon, defined by Townsend, whose analysis is based primarily on the relational aspect of marginalised and vulnerable groups. The main contribution of this work is the high territorial consistency of the data, referring to the local districts of Genoa. The methodology consists in the realisation of two aggregative quantitative analyses for the construction of the indices. On the one hand, crime is measured using a method based on the sum of standardised variables, while social deprivation is studied by DP2 method. The analysis shows a trend of high levels of crime in districts closest to the centre of the city of Genoa, a trend that decreases as it moves toward the periphery. The city centre areas are the most crowded and the most difficult to control continuously due to the intense traffic of people, especially during rush hours. A similar result can be observed in terms of social deprivation: the districts closer to the centre tend to be more socially critical, while the more distant districts have a stronger social fabric, also due to less traffic by residents. The work can be a useful tool to help policymakers define timely and localised measures to combat crime.
