This work analyzes some of the preliminary implications that the COVID-19 pandemic has had in Higher Education. Faced with the panorama of global repression and immediate impacts, different Higher Education Institutions decided to adopt distance education. The same that has not only led to re-inventing teaching and reorganizing the teaching-learning process. But besides, it also deepened the gap and the real structural conditions of a disadvantaged student population. Consequently, it is doubly meritorious to strengthen a distance education that does not only include the mere participation of the training institutions themselves. On the contrary, given the extraordinary situation, it will be necessary for the different levels of government to intervene in order to redouble efforts in educational measures, programs and policies that effectively guarantee the right to distance learning at this level of education.

This research seeks to analyze the variables involved in prosocial behavior and his ability to act as a protective factor against gambling addiction. This study is quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional and correlational. The sample was made up of 258 adults residing in the province of Valencia (59.5% women) with a mean age of 20.95 years (SD = 2.19). Questionnaires were applied to measure the variables involved (Brief Resilient Coping Scale, cuestionario de apoyo social, Escala de Prosocialidad y South Oaks Gambling Screen) and a structural equation model was performed. The results showed good fit indices (X2 (41) = 59.31, p = .06; CFI = .97; GFI = .96; RMSEA = .04) and indicated that social support and resilience were not related, being both predictors of prosocial behaviors. Furthermore, prosocial behaviors were predictors of gambling addiction. This research presents an explanatory model of prosocial behaviors (30%) and gambling addiction problems (8%), which, if replicated, can be very useful at clinical and university fields, helping to understand the functioning of prosocial behaviors and incorporating this knowledge for the development of programs that promote social values.

It is evident that, in the territory, it is where the enclave of fundamental values occurs to exercise the future profession, the community agent being a fundamental actor in the training process. The territorial intervention made it possible to strengthen the promotion of values such as empathy, respect, equality and equal opportunities. The training process makes sense if it is carried out in collaboration with the territory, identifying problems and seeking solutions to overcome them, thus generating co-responsibility and social ethics.

The aim of this research has been to reveal the educational proposal carried out by one of Honduras universities to virtualize its processes during COVID-19 and to determine the satisfaction of professors and students regarding the proposal. This research, under an exploratory and non-experimental descriptive design, had two phases: reconstruction of the experience and a satisfaction study using a Likert-5 point scale tool carried out to a sample n = 1156 students and n =130 professors. The results have allowed to identify three transition stages to virtualization: ensuring, reorganizing and implementing; to define face-to-face education with a virtual support as the modality study applied, and to verify a high level of satisfaction of students and professors. The results allow the transition and development of a face-to-face education with a virtual support modality as an alternative to the virtualization of educational processes in higher education.

Assessment is one of the most important and controversial elements of University training. Despite the extensive bibliography that supports the use of formative assessment processes in Higher Education, in practice, there is still a great predominance in the use of traditional assessment systems that seek to stablish a grade at the end of the training period. The aim of this article is to carry out a review of the concepts of assessment and show the characteristics that formative assessment processes in Higher Education must have, in order to make a series of recommendations and proposals that can serve as reference elements for the change in the assessment processes. It is necessary to advance in the use of these procedures in a systematic and planned way to achieve a more formative environment in a system that keeps a single numeric grade as the culmination of the process.

This article has as its scope the questions concerning the teaching and writing of school history in the conception of the Italian Jesuit Raphael Galanti (1840-1917). With the emergence of the republican government in Brazil, the teaching of history underwent important transformations, such as the inclusion of new heroes, the recovery of a past with democratic connotation and the strengthening of the defense of moral and patriotic values, already elucidated in the works published throughout the second half of the nineteenth century. In the case of Father Raphael Galanti, his conception of the history of Brazil can be understood through his textbooks, as well as through the speeches published in the Journal of the Brazilian Historical and Geographic Institute in the course of the eight hundred. In this sense, the teaching of history proposed by Galanti expressed a current concern in the school historiography of the time in the process of building republican memory backed by the mythification of new heroes.

Late was the appearance of the Chair of Sacred Scripture at the Javeriana University according to its founding schedule: in 1605 two grammar classes would be opened, the courses in Philosophy in 1608, those in Scholastic Theology and Moral Theology in 1612, around 1613 the Chair of indigenous language, the chair of Vespers around 1616, the chair of Medicine in 1636, the studies of Canons and Laws in 1706, and the chair of Sacred Scripture in 1722. The explanation of this phenomenon is offered by Fr. Gonzalo de Lyra, who in the Annua Letter of the years 1611 and 1612 writes that “instead of writing and Hebrew,” it is convenient that they study chibcha for being more useful to Jesuit theologians and clerics attending class. During the seventeenth century the teaching of this science was linked to the chair of Moral Theology. In 1722 the Belgian Jesuit Simón Vinans had assumed the responsibility of the chair. The operation was normal but we cannot offer a qualification because all documentation remains unpublished.
