Introduction: an element that distinguishes health professionals, and especially medical specialists, is continuous professional improvement.Objective: to expose the result of the implementation of a professional improvement program for the angiologist on chronic arterial insufficiency.Methods: an educational research with a dialectical hermeneutic approach was carried out in the angiology and vascular surgery service of the General Teaching Provincial Hospital of Ciego de Ávila, in 2021. The study population was made up of all the specialists directly linked to patient care in the province of Ciego de Ávila (19). The Wilcoxon signed-rank hypothesis test was used to evaluate transformations before and after applying the professional improvement activities. Ethical principles were met.Results: the actions of the improvement program were implemented in three stages: theoretical updating, training orientation for diagnosis and demonstration with real cases. The transformations in the specialists with statistical significance (α = 0.023) in the evaluated indicators were corroborated and the qualitative transformations were specified.Conclusions: quantitative and qualitative transformations were revealed in the preparation of angiologists regarding the application of novel regenerative medicine treatments for chronic arterial insufficiency, the adequate management of the complications produced and the follow-up of the patients

Introducción: la enfermedad de Menetrier es una enfermedad infrecuente con escasos reportes en la literatura mundial. En la actualidad es reconocida como una condicionante para la neoplasia.Objetivo: presentar un caso de enfermedad de Menetrier, gastropatía hipertrófica infrecuente de etiología desconocida.Presentación de caso: paciente varón, blanco, de 54 años con antecedentes de hipertensión arterial que lleva tratamiento hace 10 años para la misma. Debuta por edemas generalizados, disnea y cuadro muy parecido a un síndrome ulceroso acompañándose de diarreas, síndrome constitucional con pérdida de 10 kg en sólo tres meses y palidez cutáneo mucosa. Los estudios analíticos de laboratorio mostraron hipoalbuminemia con anemia discreta. Los exámenes imagenológicos y endoscópicos realizados hicieron posible llegar al diagnóstico clínico. Muere abruptamente por infarto del miocardio y los estudios necrópsico e histopatológicos mostraron que se trataba de una enfermedad de Menetrier.Conclusiones: la enfermedad de Menetrier es una afección infrecuente que ocurre usualmente en personas de 30-60 años, es rara en niños y jóvenes. Presentamos el caso de un paciente con esta enfermedad cuyo diagnóstico sólo fue posible por imagenología, endoscopia y estudios anatomopatológicos. Debe tenerse en cuenta que puede simular otras afecciones clínicas, desde un síndrome ulceroso gástrico, un síndrome nefrótico y una cirrosis hepática, hasta progresar a un síndrome neoplásico

We investigated the association of landscaping plants with the communities of ground-dwelling arthropods within pastures and tested the hypothesis that arthropod biodiversity increases with vegetation heterogeneity. The community characterization and biodiversity of arthropods in a pasture were compared with those within communities with landscaping plants, including forest remnants, Forsythia koreana and Prunus serotina. The total abundance of mites was greater within the forest remnants than within the pasture; however, the abundance of insects and spiders did not differ. Nonmetric multidimensional scaling and the multiresponse permutation procedure revealed that the community composition of insects and spiders differed according to vegetation type. The abundance of Teleogryllus emma was highest within the forest remnant community, which suggested the species’ dependency on vegetation type. Species richness and the Shannon index of insects increased within F. koreana but not within P. serotina compared with the pasture. This suggested that belts of shrubs might have a greater promoting effect on insect biodiversity than belts of trees. Species richness of spiders did not differ by vegetation type. The total number of insect and spider species within the study area increased by 2.8 and 3.5 times, respectively, by establishing three types of vegetation. These results suggested that increasing vegetation heterogeneity by establishing landscaping plants is a good option for conserving insect and spider biodiversity in pastures.

Brazil is among the top 10 countries with the highest number of deaths from road traffic accidents. Within this scenario are the Federal Highway Police (FHP), who carry out overt patrols, seeking to ensure public safety and preservation of life. A cross-sectional observational study with an analytical descriptive approach was conducted, investigating the sleep quality, stress, fatigue, and executive functioning of these professionals, aimed at updating the institutional health intervention guidelines. We identified a prevalence of individuals with impaired sleep quality, and the presence of chronic fatigue and vulnerability to work stress, in infrastructure and routine (EVENT test). This factor relates to issues such as of working double shifts, health problems and accidents at work.  

The article examines the public security policy in the state of Pará in view of the analysis of homicides in Belém in a period of the year 2018, facing of the critical theoretical premises of Liberation Criminology. The assumptions on which this analysis is based are: a) the penal system selectivity; b) the lack of social control mechanisms; c) the emphasis on the repressive measures. The reflections start from studies on the territorial distribution of homicides in Belém, specifically in the neighborhoods of: Cabanagem, Telégrafo, Paracuri, and Nazaré about a criminal and socioecomonic profile of 26 young victims aged 18 -29 years old.; study on a criminal profile of homicide victims in in Belém; also a study of the analyzes of the actions of state inter-agency planning in the areas of public security, health and education, coupled with the analysis of the performance of ostensive policing in the four neighborhoods. The results achieved indicate that the incidence of homicides followed the logic of a punitive practice, which has socioeconomic selectivity of the victims, defining the concentration of cases in peripheral areas of the capital Pará, as well as the criminal and socioeconomic profile of the victims signals for failure of local social control mechanisms, also that the concrete results of public security policies, materialized in the Multiannual Plan of Pará, reflected of a necessity about cross-sectoral coordination among public security policies, remaining to show only the reinforcement of repressive actions by the ostensive police in the neighborhoods. Based on the cartographic analyzes and indications of liberation criminology, there was an opportunity to systematize the homicide analysis methodology by criminological cartography for the ostensive police.

This article aims to investigate the attempt to charge the monitored person to pay expenses arising from the electronic ankle bracelet from the point of view of the economic expansion of criminal law. Based on a bibliographical and documentary research, it is observed that norms for this purpose result from a repressive feeling from a part of society, added to the state austerity in prison matters. In this sense, states have been passing laws of the type claiming concurrent legislative competence in Penitentiary Law, incurring the defect of formal unconstitutionality At another point, a criminological approach to the problem demonstrates that such pecuniary obligation hinders the re-socialization of the monitored, due to the expenditure of resources that would be destined for subsistence. The research concludes that the referred attempt results from a social and state interest in reducing expenses and from the guarantee of this precautionary measure.

The present paper seeks to analyze the constitutionality of the institute of the provisional execution of the sentence in the decisions rendered in the scope of the Court of Law based on the innovation brought by the Code of Criminal Procedure, by the Law 13.964/19, regarding the execution of the sentence in crimes with penalty equal or greater than 15 (fifteen) years of incarceration. Its problem rests, among other aspects, on the implementation of the provisional execution of the sentence as a punitivist institute, which directly affects the increase of the prison population, that is already decadent. Thereunto, the hypothetical-deductive method was used through research in doctrine, legislation and other bibliographic sources. Finally, it was concluded that the provisional execution of the sentence does not comply with the guidelines in the 1988 Constitution. In addition, data from the National Penitentiary Department show a significant increase in the prison population related to qualified homicides in 2020; a fact that demonstrates the punitive nature of provisional execution

This study analyses the influence of temporal factors on the dynamics of residential burglaries in the city of Cuiabá. For this, it uses routine activity and rational choice theories as theoretical reference. Despite analysing the distribution of such crimes by year, month, season, day of the week and period of the day, the statistical results only show that violent residential burglaries are more concentrated at night. However, the research indicates that residential burglaries have specific time patterns, which is of great importance to support public security policies in Cuiabá, which could adopt, for example, varied prevention strategies for different periods of the day and year.

The present article seeks to understand the parliamentary vision, concerning the social reality, that, in 2003, gave birth to the Statute of Disarmament. To do so, the research uses documents review and legislative arguments coding methodology to visit the shorthand notes of the discussion of the disarmament project in the National Congress, seeking to find the arguments that justified the measure. Once this information is found, the article, using of a literature review, confronts it with the social reality of the moment, seeking to determine if this vision was according to the social context. The answer, with reservations, is positive.
