Prematurity is one of the main issue of perinatal health; taking into account its high incidence, the morbidity shown in the short and long term and the scarce scientific evidence that determines the influence that risk factors have on motor development in preterm infants, we propose to conduct a study that will analyse the influence that perinatal factors risk have on the gross motor development of this population. Method is based on: cross-sectional observational study on a sample of 261 preterm infants, evaluated from November 2014 to April 2018. The Alberta Infant Motor Scale (AIMS) was used to assess the level of gross motor development, the percentile in which is the premature one and the Perinatal Risk Inventory (PERI) to determine the score and the level of perinatal risk. Results are a significant and inverse relationship between perinatal risk and gross motor skills is found in both sexes (p = 0.000). So, the gross motor development of preterm infants is lower as the level of perinatal risk increases. Intracranial hemorrhage and gestational age are the perinatal risk factors that have shown the greatest influence on the gross motor development of preterm infants.

The use of transcatheter aortic valves replacement (TAVR) has increased due to the aging and high risk population. Some reports have shown promising results on their hemodynamic performance with adequate morbidity and mortality rates. However, the impact of these bioprostheses on left ventricular mass (LVM) is unknown. The main objective of our study was to analyze LVM regression and ventricular remodeling with theses bioprostheses in real-world patients after TAVR. From January 2010 to December 2011, 61 patients underwent transcatheter aortic valve replacement due to severe aortic stenosis. The demographic and clinical characteristics and hemodynamic, electrocardiographic and echocardiographic parameters were collected and analysed. The results are: we observed statistically significant differences between the preoperative and postoperative values in the electrocardiographic parameters, expressed by the criteria of SokolowLyon, Cornell and their respective duration-voltage products, the size of the interventricular septum showed a decrease of 14mm to 11mm and the indexed ventricular mass showed a decrease expressed in terms of the magnitude of the difference of up to 30 g / m2, that is, it has been reduced from 145.5 g / m2 to 115 g / m2. The conclusions are: ventricular remodeling is favorable in TAVR groups measured by echocardiography and electrical criteria, improving contractility and event-free survival at one year follow-up

Shoulder pain in patients with spinal cord injury is one of the most prevalent pathologies, especially due to the use of assistive devices, since the joint is initially prepared for other functions. It is a hypermobile joint with little stability, so it is often injured. The aim of this study is to prove if dry needling used in these patients is effective in the disability (DASH) of the sample. In this randomized, single-blind, controlled trial, it was used the fast-in and fast-out Hong technique on an active trigger point in infraspinatus muscle within the experimental group and compared with a control group that received a treatment of placebo needle. The variables used in this study are: DASHe (Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand version Spanish version), McGill pain questionnaire, SPADIe (Shoulder Pain and Disability Index Spanish version) that were evaluated before and one week after the intervention, and pain pressure threshold (PPT) and range of motion (ROM) of the shoulder of internal rotation and horizontal adduction that were evaluated before, immediately after and a week after the intervention. Statistical analysis was carried out using the SPSS 22.0 program, from which, after the homogeneity of the sample, there were no significant differences in any of the variables, except for the pressure pain threshold after one week between the study groups. Dry needling used in myofascial shoulder pain syndrome in patients with spinal cord injury seems effective in increasing the PPT after one week of treatment. A study with sample expansion is needed to determine the effectiveness of the intervention.

The role of muscle strength in the performance of activities of daily living and exercise, as well as in the prevention of chronic diseases, is increasingly recognized. The objective of this study was to analyze the strength levels of the upper limbs with the quality of life in the European population over 65 years. 419 elderly people (69.12 ± 9.19 years) were recruited from different European countries (Bulgaria, Spain, Hungary, Italy and Portugal), belonging to the European project IN COMMON SPORTS Erasmus Plus. The strength of the upper limbs was assessed by means of the Handgrip of both arms and the quality of life through the EuroQol-5D test (EQ-5D). A descriptive analysis and a Pearson correlation was performed. The results show an inverse relationship between quality of life and higher train strength, that is, higher values of higher train force are related to better quality of life for the European population over 65 years.

Considering that, aging is associated with changes that could significantly affect sexuality, and that individuals over 65 years are a group of great sexual heterogeneity, the main purpose of this work is to explore the differences between older men and women in terms of sexual desire, activity, and practices. This study was carried out through a questionnaire survey in order to analyse the differences between the men and women in terms of sexual activity during the past year, sexual desire and practices. Results show us that sexual activity in general, and the type of sexual practice in particular, as well as the frequency of such practices, reflect relevant differences between older women and men. Specifically, results of this work reveal that there are men who acknowledge a greater concern about the decrease in frequency of sexual practices; however, a significantly more pronounced decrease in the frequency of these practices in the past year occurs among women. Although there may be significant differences in some specific sexual practices and in the level of sexual desire and impulse between men and women, a significant number of men and women are sexually active throughout their old age
