This paper focuses on the figure of the client and what their existence means for the sex worker. Following specific abolitionist literature on the subject, we investigate the supposed motives that lead to the consumption of paid sex and question the existence of the different profiles that comprise it. We then focus on the violence that can be perpetrated by clients alongside pimps, landlords, law enforcement and institutions, and show the negative consequences of laws that focus on the criminalisation of clientelism in countries where it has been implemented. Finally, we relate the above to the responses obtained in a series of interviews with sex workers, focusing on their conditions and consent, the importance of their empowerment, the sexism of clients and their position towards them, the characteristic violence of emerging neo-abolitionism, and the way in which this relates to the trans* experience.

The research developed has the utilitarian purpose of providing the university, especially the Main Campus and the selected careers, with the indexes of the situational state regarding the analysis of the associated factors: motivation, habits and study techniques of first-time freshmen; projecting them qualitatively and quantitatively in the university academic formation they have chosen. The methodology applied had a quantitative approach with a non-experimental design, of descriptive-correlational type allowing the results achieved to be part of a diagnostic evaluation of the population under study in the spheres or variables involved. The data and information obtained were collected through the design and application of a digital instrument, sent to each student's institutional e-mail address, by means of Google Forms. This instrument was validated with experts through the Dean's Office of Research of the university because it is a registered research project. The presentation and analysis of the results is demonstrated by descriptive statistical sketches, percentages, frequencies that were obtained by the SPSS statistical program. These constitute a significant contribution, confirming that the greater the motivation of students, the more they apply study habits and techniques. Likewise, it is considered that a theoretical contribution is made to educational psychology by evaluating the students’ individual characteristics and providing relevant information on how these variables interact in the teaching-learning process, in order to acquire the competencies and skills expected at the end of the process, in this specific case of the careers that are part of the Specialized University of the Americas.

Most of the countries that form the Hispanic World has manifested publically worry for the results obtained in the teaching of the mother tongue. This situation turns particularly serious when the problems are perceived to be revealed in the university classrooms. The UDELAS university students have deficiencies in reading comprehension, bad quality in writing and in oral speech. All this is motivated by low indices in lexical richness and syntactic maturity, the use of infant cohesive schemes, and frequents breaks of textual coherence, among other linguistic factors. The purpose of this investigation is not other than to describe, analyses and arrive to offer concrete and true solutions to this basic problem, from a scientific perspective. That has been possible thanks to techniques of data collection consisting in the application of an instrument of measurement: construction of texts to evaluate the written production of the students. They allowed to measure the indices of lexical richness, syntactic maturity, lexical cohesion, and discourse coherence. The result obtained is a characterization of the indices of the students’ written expression that may be useful for the design of pedagogical interventions for the improvement of the ability. In all variables the levels of Low and Middle are higher than 70%, and the development of the written expression skill is graded as Bad. Therefore, the conclusion is that de written expression development is insufficient in the first admission students of the Specialized University of Americas.

The present research aimed to: Demonstrate that the administration of oxygen via a mask at concentrations of 8L and 12L favors the recovery of the elite cyclist from Panama during their training in order to improve their performance in international competitions. It is a quasi experimental, prospective, cross-sectional, pre-test-post-test research design, with the same group being both control and test subject, made up of high-performance athletes, to which an O2 stimulus of 8 and 12 liters will be applied. Lts will do a pre-test, and post-test measurement to evaluate the recovery of these athletes during their training. When verifying the results, it was shown that when using oxygen levels of 8Lts and 12Lts, these improved the cyclist's performance, favoring their recovery, finding significant data in the components of respiratory frequency in which when using concentrations of 8L of oxygen (r: 0.733, p: 0-039), this increases the respiratory rate of the cyclist, increasing their physical performance, a high positive correlation with significance is also shown between glucose without oxygen concentration and glucose with oxygen concentration (r: 0.757, p: 0.030).

The main objective of this research is to measure the enjoyment and efficiency of the physical activity in the Panamanian youth. It is a longitudinal, prospective, and comparative study of pretest-post design with a control group. A public high school in a community in Panama City was chosen with 30 children both boys and girls, with an average age of 7 to 8 years old. The intervention has been based in the auto efficiency and enjoyment of the level of physical activity showing significative results according to the statistics between an experimental and control group, as well as the pretest, and posttest groups. In the measurements of physical activity, the results confirm that there is no difference between genders in the pretest and posttest. Regarding the control group there is no evidence of a positive change. We can conclude saying that this intervention during COVID pandemic has been positive because it generates more auto efficiency at the enjoyment, also the perception of the physical activity in regard of the control group that show a decrease in his efficiency.

Arterial hypertension is a public health problem that is positioned worldwide as an important cause of morbidity within non-communicable diseases. In Panama it is estimated that around a third of adults are hypertensive. Adherence to pharmacological treatment and periodic health control for this pathology is essential to avoid complications that can lead to death. Despite this, the adherence of hypertensive patients to their medications is low in the world. The main objective of this research was to identify the factors that are associated with adherence to pharmacological treatment and health control in hypertensive personnel of the Universidad Especializada de las Américas. In addition, the proportion of hypertensive patients, the sociodemographic and clinical characteristics of these subjects, as well as the level of adherence according to the Morisky Scale (MMAS-8), were described. To this end, a quantitative observational study with a descriptive and analytical component was designed. The statistical association between the factors and adherence was analyzed through a case-control model with variables in dichotomous categories using the "chi" square statistic and the odd ratio to measure the level of association between the variables. The proportion of hypertensive patients was 39.9%. A third of the subjects presented low adherence according to the Morisky scale and 8.1% had never attended health care for control of arterial hypertension. Among the factors associated with low adherence that were statistically significant were the use of alternative medicine and subjects with mild depression according to the Zung Scale (ZDS).

Occupational risk is the possibility that a worker suffers an illness or an accident at work. The incidence of people who suffer occupational accidents and deaths has increased in recent years, affecting the labor process and the worker. The objective of the research is to validate an occupational risk prevention program (PRL), to train industrial high school teachers in skills and determine their efficiency. The research design is mixed quasi-experimental pretest - posttest with a type of documentary, descriptive, exploratory and explanatory study, with a health approach to prevention and health promotion, structured in two phases. A first, diagnostic, using an instrument for measuring knowledge and occupational risks through google form applied in the Professional and Technical Institutes in Panama and in Darién, the second phase, of intervention to implement, validate the program (PRL) and measure its efficiency, during the months of May and June 2021, in the same Institutes. The results allowed to obtain the labor risks due to safety conditions, consequences derived from the working conditions; of physical, chemical, biological or environmental conditions; the characteristics of work and work organization in high school teachers, it is possible to validate the PRL risk prevention program obtaining a significance level of 0.005; With this research, it was concluded that replicating the program in industrial high school teachers contributes to training, generating new skills, and with the data obtained will allow the development of a multisectoral policy that supports the promotion of prevention, reduction of accidents and occupational diseases.

The perception of health status and lifestyles become important as an essential element to strengthen university work environments with administrators and teachers and incorporate future professionals with appropriate lifestyles into students and establish a framework to meet the SDGs (García-Arce, Pérez - Ramírez -Gutiérrez Barba, 2021). The study aims to analyze the relationship between the perception of health status and lifestyles in collaborators of the university. This research work is within the quantitative, non-experimental, cross-correlational paradigm. The calculated stratified sample was 362 between administrators, teachers, and students. A total of 636 administrative teachers and students participated in the study. To measure the perception of the state of health, questions were taken related to the suffering of diseases and attendance at the doctor, weight, and height, emerging four categories (Very low, low, high, very high) and for lifestyles, the evaluation of lifestyles. of healthy life (risk, with and without risk, adequate, healthy) carried out by Mora and Munera (2015). Results: The perception of lifestyles was characterized between adequate and healthy in the three groups and the state of health was classified between high and very high. Conclusion: At a significance level of 5%, there is a positive correlation between the state of health and the lifestyle of the administrative, teaching and student staff of the Specialized University of the Americas.

The objective of this work was to evaluate the Apgar family functionality psychometric scale and its relationship with performance and contingency. For this, an exploratory instrument called Family was developed, which measured family functionality in times of pandemic. The Apgar and Family instruments will be applied in Chilean university students, relating both instruments to each other and to academic performance. The Apgar instrument showed Cronbach's alpha measures = 0.864 and KMO = 0.858. The Family instrument showed Cronbach's alpha measures 0.449 and KMO = 0.553. The Pearson match between Family and Apgar was 0.599, positive and highly significant. Conclusion: the Apgar instrument showed high reliability, not the Family instrument. Family functionality in times of pandemic reveals not to be related to academic performance.

The general objective of the research was to evaluate the effects of behavioral strategies in addressing conflicts in six multigrade educational, Bugaba district,Chiriquí, during the 2021 school year. We worked with a population of 119 fourth, fifth and sixth grade students, with their respective guardians and 11 teachers. It was a mixed study with a descriptive, explanatory and correlational scope of behavioral strategies applied by teachers in the face of conflicts. The main results obtained were the high frequency of conflictive situations of academic management. It was found that teachers apply behavior modification techniques and as an alternative means attempts are made to apply mediation, little management of the phases of mediation was evidenced, since one or the other is applied, but the process does not occur. In its whole. It is concluded that the disciplinary measures that are handled are usually the cause of conflicts, which aggravates the situation and it is necessary to implement school mediation processes in the curriculum and thus strengthen the culture of peace in educational centers at the national level.
