A non-experimental and descriptive research was conducted in a probabilistic sample of 1339 public school teachers in Panama, with the objective of knowing the dominant brain quadrants in the different activities used by educators to teach. The Herrmann Brain Dominance Model was taken as a reference. According to the results obtained, it can be seen that the tendency of teachers is to use the right limbic cerebral quadrant. The instrument developed by Herrmann evaluates dominance using the cerebral quadrants left cortical (CI), left limbic (LI), right limbic (LD) and right cortical (CD). The questionnaire reviews ten basic traits that intervene in the teaching process: Personality, Relationship with students, Relationship with classmates, Class preparation, Program, Teaching control, Learning evaluation, Pedagogical support, Teacher meetings and Attitude in class.

This research inquiries whether recent movements critical of hegemonic masculinities have influenced the behaviors and notions of masculinity of the new generations.  Interviews were conducted with a sample of 40 young university students from the most prestigious public and private universities in the city of Lima, Peru. We chose the university environment because it has been the scene of the emergence of a thriving feminist movement. We focused on relationships with the most significant women in men's lives: mothers, sisters, friends and partners. The results find both changes and permanence. The women seen by the young people are independent and have conquered the public space. Not few of them criticize the traditional masculinity model. Regarding permanence: mothers continue to be associated with the care of the home and traditional notions of femininity (fragility, need for protection) that legitimize forms of control persist. The identification of masculinity with sexual initiative, control of women and authority is still in force. A proportion of young men perceive these ambiguities and are open to change. A minority reaffirms acquired notions and rejects movements that confront them. Key words: masculinity; university; students; feminity, Peru.

This article examines the dilemmas and challenges facing Latin American feminisms in the current paradoxical conjuncture, in which on the one hand, feminism, in all its diversity, occupies a prominent place as one of the most important and dynamic social and political forces in the subcontinent; and on the other hand, it faces strong external and internal tensions due to a strong onslaught by conservative, anti-rights and fundamentalist groups and internal polarisations around the very objectives of the feminist project. To this end, I propose to describe the characteristics of these contemporary feminisms that are actively intervening in the political conjunctures of each country in the region, demanding an end to violence against women in all its manifestations, the legalisation of abortion, and respect for their labour, territorial and economic rights. Secondly, I will refer to the challenges faced by these feminisms in a context in which a strong reactionary counter-offensive has been generated against some achievements in terms of equality and the sexual and reproductive rights of women and the LGBTQI+ population. Finally, I will refer to some internal debates within feminism that highlight the current quest to deepen its reflection from the concrete, articulating memories, struggles and proposals contrary to the liberal framework of law. I will conclude by pointing out how in the midst of these difficulties and tensions, the feminist movement remains a source of hope.

The emergence of the so-called "rights agenda" in the region has not been exempt from difficulties. The expansion of rights for LGBTQ+ individuals and the recognition of sexual and reproductive rights have triggered reactions in different spheres of society. In recent years, we have witnessed a resurgence of conservative discourses that place gender, family, and tradition at the center of the debate. "Gender ideology" is presented as the new common enemy that religious and far-right groups seek to combat. In this article, we aim to build a dialogue among three different positions that we consider paradigmatic in this neoconservative advancement. We analyze the discursive rhetoric of a religious referent from the neo-Pentecostal evangelical sphere, a political referent from Uruguayan party politics, and a renowned writer who occupies a relevant position in the media. The objective will be to identify synergies and tensions in discourses that originate from different realms but find common ground in opposition to "gender ideology".

Communication is an eminently interactive activity through which the establishment of interpersonal relationships is fostered, especially trying to transmit information to others as happens with health staff, especially nurses who dedicate the greatest percentage of their time to patients care. Considering these aspects in this work, the objective was defined to analyze the relationship between the assertive communication of nursing staff to mothers about vaccines and compliance with the immunization schedule in children under 5 years old at the Atahualpa health facility, September period. 2022 – August 2023. To achieve this purpose, a phenomenological exploratory study was developed in which 183 mothers from the aforementioned health facility participated. Based on these results, 62.8% of participants were identified with an understanding of the explanations provided and adequate levels of satisfaction with the information received, as well as the corroboration of the working hypothesis that assertive communication by the nursing staff influences the compliance with the vaccination scheme by the representatives of the children.
