ABSTRAC: The propagation of forest species used for reforestation or ornamentation can be done through seeds, which may have dormancy, not favoring the germination process. Therefore, the present work aimed to evaluate different treatments of dormancy overcoming in A. pavovina L. seeds. The seeds were collected in three matrices in the city of Serra Talhada-PE, and subjected to different dormancy: control; soaking in water at room temperature for 48 hours; immersion in water at a temperature of 100 ºC for 10 seconds and subsequent conditioning in the freezer for 6 hours; manual scarification with nº. 120 sandpaper on both sides and opposite to the hilum; immersion in NaClO (2.5%) for 24 hours; soaking 30% caustic soda solution for 30 minutes. The seeds were sown in two hundred cell Styrofoam trays using medium-sized vermiculite as substrate. The experimental design was completely randomized, consisting of six treatments and four replications of twenty seeds. The parameters analyzed were emergency percentage (PE); emergency speed index (IVE) and mean emergency time (TME). With manual scarification treatment with sandpaper nº 120, on both sides and opposite to the hilum, the that for TME the number of days is higher for seedling formation (1.98 days) but it was the treatment that showed the best PE (84%) and IVE (1,3375) in A. pavonina L. seeds, due to ruptures in the integument, favoring the increase of water imbibition, being the main stage for the beginning of the germination process. The use of manual scarification with sandpaper on both sides of the integument and opposite to the hilum is recommend as pre-germinative treatment in A. pavonina L. seeds. ABSTRACT: The school that adopts environmental education as an instrument of awareness should guide the student to seek values that lead to a harmonious routine with the environment in which it operates. And, in this sense, the school garden can act as a field of teaching and learning within the school, and can be accessed at many times by the students and teachers of the institution who adhered to the technique as a teaching tool. Given the above, this work aimed to use agroecological techniques associated with environmental education for the construction of a school garden in the Deputado José Lúcio de Melo Municipal School. The action was developed from January to March 2019. For the construction of the garden, soil management, fertilization and subsequent sowing of seeds and seedlings in the flowerbeds were carried out. Given the implementation of the school garden, it was noticed that opposing to the conventional model, the agroecological techniques have a potential for the production of organic food, thus ensuring the maintenance and preservation of the environment used for the garden. The process becomes fundamental for the teaching and learning of students, and can be verified according to the answers obtained from the questionnaire about the experiences during the process of construction and monitoring of the garden until the harvest period. Therefore, it is concluded that the agroecological techniques associated with teaching practices in environmental education were fundamental for the process of implementation of the school garden. ABSTRACT: This paper aimed to analyze the socio-spatial segregation that occurs in the city of Batalha, in Alagoas, comparing the neighborhoods Avenida Governador Muniz Falcão and Bairro Alto São Jorge. The spatial arrangements and socioeconomic profile of its residents were verified as markers of the urban landscape, besides identifying the agents that act by modeling these spaces and generating specific forms and functions in the urban scene. Methodologically, the research was conducted through literature survey, primary data from questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. Even though it is a phenomenon in the small town scale, the processes resulting from the capitalist mode of production in the western cities reproduce the same logics of inequality and dialectical production of differences, intensifying the struggles and segregation in the daily life of the city. ABSTRACT: The gestational period is not an infection problem that affects maternal and fetal health. There are risks of developing infectious diseases transmitted vertically, which can lead to several problems in the development and vitality of the future concept. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the frequency of infectious diseases in pregnant women submitted to prenatal screening, using the filter paper technique in the city of Aparecida de Goiânia-GO. This is a cross-sectional study of 1,328 pregnant women submitted to prenatal screening in the period from 2011 to 2016, using the filter paper technique. After confirming the positive results on the paper filter, confirmation was carried out and the frequencies found were 22.52% for syphilis, 14.23% for toxoplasmosis, 7.45% for Chagas' disease, 4.74% for hepatitis B virus (HBsAg), 3.77% for HIV virus, 1.73% for hepatitis C virus (anti-HCV), 1.05% for HTLV virus, 0.98% for cytomegalovirus and 0.15% for rubella. The importance of screening for infectious diseases with vertical transmission is not the present study, mainly due to the frequency of the number of cases, toxoplasmosis, Chagas disease and hepatitis B virus, even though it is low in comparison with other studies. Through early diagnosis, it is possible to avoid vertical transmission and/or decrease fetal impairment. KEYWORDS: Infectious diseases, Pregnant women, Prenatal care, Vertical transmission.

It is common in Brazil and around the world the use of pesticides in agriculture. In 1950 intense use of pesticides began in the United States, with the so-called 'Green Revolution', aiming to modernize agriculture and increase productivity. In general, these substances serve to prevent or combat some kind of pest in crops. However, when improperly used they can cause risks to the health of the population and the environment, thus becoming a public health problem. Given this, this research aimed to perform a literature review about the consequences for health and the environment, resulting from the indiscriminate use of pesticides. The research was conducted from April to August 2019, being of a qualitative nature, through bibliographic survey in digital databases. The use of pesticides has been around for a long time, being used in all Brazilian regions, including the Northeast and the State of Alagoas, where there are two very strong and representative crops that require the use of pesticides, which is tobacco growing, present in the municipality of Arapiraca, and the sugar cane plantation that is widely distributed throughout the state. Thus, such knowledge should be brought to the general population and also prepared by farmers to handle these products properly. KEY-WORD: Environment, Agricultural Poison, Agriculture.

ABSTRACT: The gastronomic inventory is considered as cultural heritage for its immaterial importance and is inserted in the collective memory of different social groups. This set of knowledge and practices are linked to the subsistence and survival aspects of different social groups that guarantee the sense of identity not only in the historical context, but also in the symbolic context. The aim of this study was to register the gastronomic inventory, identifying which are the recipes and traditional condiments that best express the knowledge of semiarid of the state of Sergipe. The data are the result of participant observation in the “way of doing” of foods, analysis of handwritten recipe booklets and semi-structured interviews applied to women from rural communities in the Nossa Senhora da Glória, Sergipe. Our data indicate that the gastronomic inventory of the semi-arid is based on different types of foods based on milk, cassava, corn, eggs and sugar, having sweets as the main stimulus for different sensations and gastronomic affective memories. Our data also point out that the main condiments used in the country cuisine are salt, cumin, pepper and coriander and that the exchange of ingredients and techniques have shown a tendency to hybridize the gastronomic inventory in the rural region of Nossa Senhora da Glória. At the end of this study, we found that the gastronomic inventory of the semiarid of Sergipe is characterized as being an important cultural heritage as it communicates identity, geographical, historical and cultural issues of the semiarid people KEYWORDS: Food inventory; semiarid culture; cultural heritage.

Pesticides have a major impact on the health of populations. Some examples of the consequences of their indiscriminate use: environmental and human contamination, hearing problems, the development of mental disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, respiratory complications among others. From this perspective, this article aims to report the experience of the process of building an educational health resource for the health of rural workers. As an educational resource in health the book was elected. It was titled Health in the Field - 1st edition: Use of pesticides and was divided into five chapters. Subsequent to the process of building this resource, a Health Educational Resources Show was held in which guest teachers with expertise in health education resources and other educational technologies, undergraduate and graduate students participated. The process of conception, planning and execution of educational material requires the development and/or improvement of multiple competencies, skills and attitudes that are paramount in health education, such as the use of information and communication technologies in their various forms, the look at the social determinants in health, the recognition as a political actor and its intersection with the university education in health.

ABSTRACT: Pollinating animals are fundamental components in terrestrial ecosystems and essential for the good performance of ecological services in natural and agricultural environments. The most harmful consequence of threats to biodiversity is undoubtedly the extinction of a species. Thus, it was necessary to know the perception of elementary school students about the importance of pollinating insects and the plants that attract them, passing information with emphasis on their conservation. The intervention was applied at the Maria Iraci Teofilo de Castro Municipal School of Basic Education - Taquarana, AL to 59 students, referring to two 6th grade classes. The action was developed through a lecture emphasizing awareness of the importance of conservation of pollinators and their habitats, together with a workshop of planting 150 seeds of floral plants. Before the information was passed on, the students' performance in answering the questionnaire was negative. The lack of knowledge of the students on the subject implies the triggering of serious problems, because, when the public does not know the problem in question, he becomes unable to solve or reduce it. There is a clear need to work with students on the importance of pollinators to natural ecosystems, as environmental education will only be effective if it gives students insight into the world around them, engaging them in a way that awakens them. a critical awareness that seeks solutions to the problem.
