An application is presented to build the knowledge in the subject PhysicalGeology of the Geophysical Engineering career, on the processes that happen in the surface of the Earth and the relationship among them, using a technical of meaningful learning that allows the tansfer from the perceived information, to the conscious knowledge. As many investigations have shown, the meaningful learning can be achieved through the construction of concept maps. The present work shows an experience of application of those maps in the Physical Geology, to build the knowledge about the processes of the planet dynamic and its relationships, which allow to visualize the Earth like a system. The result of this work is the conceptual map with the context of the Earth system conceptualized that illustrates the processes and the relationships between them like evidence of the dynamics of the planet. This map has been used teaching PhysicalGeology, with good results for the structuring of knowledge.

This paper is aimed at presenting some activities which were put into practice by using songs during the teaching-learning process of General English II in the second semester of Automatic Engineering major at “José Antonio Echeverría” Technological University of Havana (CUJAE), during 2018-2019 academic year. The activities were designed by taking into consideration the students’ difficulties related to the motivation and interest for learning the English language which hindered their academic performance in classes. The use of songs in the teaching-learning process of General English II contributed to encourage students for learning English in an attractive and interesting way. It also made possible that they acquired and strengthened their linguistic knowledge and develop their communicative skills in the socio-cultural context associated to this language, thus promoting their overall formation as future professionals.

Listening comprehension is considered the most important and the mostdemanding among all language skills; however not enough attention is paid to its importance in the English language teaching. In addition, the listening comprehension practice provided in class does not help students develop effective English listening comprehension. As a result, many students have low English listening comprehension level or fail to reach level A2 in listening comprehension, which make evident the need to improve the teaching of the English language listening comprehension. The aim of this paper is to explain the listening comprehension as well as its significance in the English language teaching and learning in order to develop the students’ listening comprehension in the English language course A2. The study of the specialized literature along with the analysis of the listening comprehension in the English language course A2 allowed to identify deficiencies in the teaching of the listening comprehensionand demonstrated the importance and pertinence of the adequate design of listening comprehension tasks as well as the use of suitable materials to help students achieve level A2 English listening comprehension.

Gamification applied in education is a practice that is expanding in the world in the same way that the interest in games, specially videogames, and the level of integration of information and communication technologies in the teachinglearning processes are also growing. However, this practice has not been exempt of controversy and contradictory results, besides, most of both the results that endorse and those that demerit the more common practices of gamification are not identifiable with the characteristics of the conceptions that are hold in Cuba about education.In the current work it is discussed one of the possible reasons why gamification applied in education is considered that may fail. Also, a set of conditions for its application are given, starting from a point of view of a teaching-learning process with a formative character.

The pedagogical model of the medical sciences in Cuba has, among its main objectives, the quality of the comprehensive education of the student. It is important then, to understand the comprehensiveness in the field of teaching, research and after-school activities. The elective course is an essential proposal for the fulfillment of the study requisites in the training period of the students during their course. Objective: to characterize the elective course Let’s speak English in the School of Dentistry of Havana in the academic year 2017-2018. Methods: a descriptive study was conducted in the School of Dentistry of Havanain the academic year 2017-2018. The universe comprised 20 students of fourth year who selected the elective course. The technique of positive-negativeinteresting criteria was used. An open question was added to enquire about some aspects which could improve the course. The description of the main characteristics of the elective course ended with the application of a survey which produced the following results: Of the 20 students who participated, 100% considered the course as positive regarding the development of the speaking and reading skills and writing and listening skills. Sixty percent (60%) evaluated the opportunity for interaction as positive, and 40% as interesting. The features described here support the good quality of the elective course: the syllabusdesign, the fulfillment of the expectations, the satisfaction with the chosen topics and the development of the teaching-learning process regarding the development of the communicative skills confirmed in the technique used.

The objective of this article is related to the improvement of the teaching of the subjects of Structured Programming and Object Oriented Programming (OOP) in the semipresencial modality of the Computer Engineering career taught at the Technological University of Havana “José A. Echeverría. " The research is carried out due to the shortcomings detected in the teaching and learning process, including: poor interpretation of problems and design of algorithms or classdiagrams, poor application of the study method, so research is necessary, limited study time, as well as an insufficient literature available for selfpreparation. The main results are framed in the definition of some particularities of the teaching of the subjects under study, identification of a group of reflections for their teaching and obtaining two digital manuals. The results obtained that have been applied during two courses in Introduction to Programming and in P.O.O base the theoretical and methodological contribution to the teaching of Programming.

In this work, the foundations of the Cuban higher education model are adapted to structure the main discipline integrating Professional Practice, specifically to work practice. The proposed foundations guide the process of organizing work practice through the use of dynamic diagnosis in the Computer Science Engineering degree. The intra-inter-transdisciplinary relationship is proposed as a methodological basis from which curricular methodologies have been developed. The didactic foundation establishes the relationship between the protagonists of the teaching-learning process with the didactic categories, enhancing the guiding role of the objectives. As part of a theoreticalmethodological conception to structure labor practice in the ICU, the theoretical foundations that support the proposed conception (philosophical, sociological, psychological, intra-inter-transdisciplinary, pedagogical and didactic).This work has the objective of guiding how each foundation influences work practice with the use of dynamic diagnosis, for which theoretical (historicallogical, analytical-synthetic, among others) and empirical (consultation with experts) methods are used, such as ways to fulfill it.

In a software development team each member plays one or more roles. Each role has associated certain skills that the people who play it must possess. In the formation of the Computer Engineer, the academy has the responsibility of contributing knowledge and promoting the development of skills that contribute to these roles. Of course, you also have to evaluate how students acquire them. This paper presents a proposal on how to use gamification in the evaluation of roles. The platform described is expected to generate mobile applications that contain a strategy for evaluation, customized by the teacher. The tool incorporates the mechanics, components and dynamics of the games that are interesting for the segment for which it is intended: university students of the Computer Engineering degree. It constitutes a qualitative investigation that uses the action research method, with the purpose of generating a benefit for the students and knowledge of relevant research on the application of gamification to the object of study.

This research is developed within the framework of the work process of the Chair of Teaching Management belonging to the Center for Studies in Technologies Informatic and Communication, which is linked to the professional improvement of specialists in Information and  Communication Technologies. The objective of this article is to analyze the use of didactic infographics in the postgraduate pedagogical process of the center, based on the research carried out to demonstrate the theoretical references and the background of the use of teaching means, as well as the potential they possess the didactic infographics that allow the use of these in the pedagogical process that is developed in theCenter of Studies of Technologies and Systems. A bibliographic analysis of a series of publications was carried out to make comparisons and achieve a theoretical review of the various concepts of teaching aids and didactic infographics. It is concluded that the possibilities and advantages of using didactic infographics can be assessed in the postgraduate pedagogical process developed at the center.

The Professional training of teachers has always been a priority of the Cuban state because of its great concern about students’ formation. The potential technology of institutions is used in order to optimize professors ‘time thus promoting their preparation. However, technology is less used in some subjects where practice is predominant, for instance, Personal Defense. The objective of this paper is to present the particularities of the professional training in Personal Defense that favor the use of digital resources as the multimedia during the training process.Professional preparation of teachers has always been in the first places in state policies for the great significance it has in the formation and learning of the students, potential technology of institutions is used to seize the time of professors that is a way for their preparation. Technology is not taken in to consideration in subjects where practice is predominant, for instance, in Personal Defense. In such sense directs our objective, expose the particular properties of the professional superacion in personal defense they favor employment of digital media as the multimedia in the proces.
