The academic performance of university students is one of the most important quality indicators of the higher education system. It is often observed that the lowest academic performance occurs in the first year of the course. However, the results that have been presented in previous studies, on the incidence of possible intervening variables, differ from one university to another and, even, each career within the same university requires a particular analysis. In this paper a group of variables that may influence the promotion results of first-yearstudents of the Computer Engineering course at the Technological University of Havana is identified. A correlational analysis is performed to estimate which variables show a greater association with the promotion towards the second year of the course. The information registered in the Faculty of Computer Engineering of the Technological University of Havana José Antonio Echeverría during three courses has been taken into account. The results obtained suggest that the most influential variables in the promotion towards the second year are the academicindex, admission score, the group size and score obtained in some subjects.

This article reveals the implementation of the Flipped Classroom or inverted class methodology in the process of pedagogical training of engineers in Telecommunications and Electronics, at the José Antonio Echeverría Technological University of Havana, Cujae.All this supported by the application of scientific methods that allowed tosystematize the theoretical-methodological references about the FlippedClassroom, as well as to monitor its implementation through the subject of Pedagogy. The assessment of the impact on the teaching-learning process was carried out by means of a survey so that each student evaluated their levels of satisfaction in this regard. From the responses, the medians of the indicators explored were determined using the Multidimensional Correlation Coefficient rpj, as a logical procedure to determine the degree of objectivity of the criteria issued. The results obtained show a trend towards high levels of satisfaction in the different aspects explored.

The Hydraulic Research Center (CIH) of the Technological University of Havana José Antonio Echeverría (Cujae), has trained many generations of hydraulic engineers. The curricular transformations that have taken place in the country caused it to pass through two study plans (D and E); these are containing environmental legal regulations, which enable the acquisition of professional skills in future engineers, to wisely manage the natural resources that are so affected, both in their availability and in their quality. The objective of this research is to reveal from the subjects of the undergraduate study plan, the projection of the tasks manifested in the State Plan for confronting climate change in the last three years. The article reflects the projection of these tasks from: the professional model; curricular strategies; specific basic subjects; and those of the exercise of the profession. As a result of the research, it was foundthat more than 50% of the subjects project, from their objectives, tasksmanifested in said State Plan, essentially in aspects related to the supply of water, basic sanitation, and the conservation of resources natural for the welfare of the population.

An activities system for the training in the work methodologies of the radiolocation equipment of the air navigation, based on a formative conception is proposed as the objective of this article. This system satisfies the needs of the work position and overcomes the traditional forms used in this process. The system is form by its objective, function, activities, implementation and evaluation forms; interrelations between them. The activities are structured in the semi-pressential modality or part-time and the main organizational form is training in the work position, to which conference-workshop, workshops, selfpreparationand tutoring are articulated. It is carried out through the cooperation, creativity and responsibility of thecnicals, tutors and teachers in thework scenario, with the use of material and technological resources, including the interactive website of the Aeronautical Service. The criteria of specialists and the results of their experimental application confirm work hypothesis, showing significant differences with previous training and technicians superior results in their duties performance.

At present, Information and Communication Technologies have acquired a boom in all areas of human life. The global trend towards development forces society to venture into the study of these technologies, since in the context of the knowledge society, technological advances emerge to respond to the needs of being in continuous connection with information and communication. That is why the so-called computer products emerge that configure a new paradigm of digital education. This article is aimed at systematizing the theoretical-methodological references on the interactive electronic textbook, all through the application oftheoretical level methods, such as; the documentary study, the analyticsynthetic study and the systematization that allowed establishing links, comparing references, determining common and divergent points in the existing approaches on the particularities of this type of book and deriving the pertinent conclusions regarding its didactic design that enhances the conscious and active role of the student in his training as an engineer.

Educational software, which takes advantage of the freedoms of free software in the teaching-learning process, has potential in subjects related to computer programming. Although authors have researched about educational software development and the integration of technologies to the teaching-learning process, we have not found an integration model that addresses the use of free software freedoms in the teaching-learning process of subjects related to computer programming. The present work aims to analyze the integration of educational free software to the teaching-learning process, in order to obtain the necessary elements that allow its study and evaluatin. The research included the analytical-synthetic method and the modeling with a systemic-structuralfunctional approach. We propose two dimensions, each with 5 sub-dimensions, which respond to the proposed objective.

In the process of preparation for the practice of teaching, the importance of learning to learn is emphasized, which means to acquire the necessary habits to develop intellectually. Some of these habits are: the ability to deal with new ideas; to understand a text; training to stay reading for hours, developing ideas from the reading, taking notes, comments, references and linking new concepts to those already acquired. You learn to develop the ability to sustain a great intellectual effort, objectively, to consider what is doubted, what you disagree with, what is the relationship between what is being learned and previous knowledge that is possessed? Every learning situation means a break in a balance achieved. Learning is possible when facing situations that challenges previous points of view and changes are achieved to make them compatible with the new facts, instead of assuming the subjective security, the balance that had been reached in previous knowledge. The objective of this article is to socialize contents about the construction of knowledge, among university students and professors, as help in the application of the method learning to learn, as part of the new transformations of Higher Education. As a result, there will be supportmaterial available to learn how to build their own knowledge, based on previous experiences and learning, using the method learning to learn.
