Objective. To identify the relationship between healthcare-associated infections according to invasive procedures and characterization variables in the neonatal intensive care unit of a regional referral hospital. Methods. The study had a quantitative approach, type and design of correlational study. The population consisted of 273 neonatal medical records, the sample being 160 neonatal medical records from the intensive care unit. A descriptive analysis of frequencies and percentages was performed. Results. Among the microorganisms found,15% (24) belonged to Klebsiella sp.; 11.3% (18) to Pseudomona sp.; 39.4% (63) had a hospital stay of 16 to 28 days; 53.1% (85) had low birth weight; and 80% (128) were preterm. To verify the relationship between X and Y variables, a reliability test p < 0.05 was obtained, which confrmed the relationship between health careassociated infections according to invasive procedures in the neonatal intensive care unit and the characterization variables (sex and hospital stay). Conclusions. It is concluded that health care-associated infections according to invasiveprocedures in the neonatal intensive care unit are related to respiratory access, vascular access, hospital stay, birth weight and gestational age of the neonate.

Objective. To identify the clinical-epidemiological profile of the metabolic syndrome in adult patients treated in a Peruvian jungle area. Methods. The study was observational, retrospective, cross-sectional, qualitative approach, descriptive level and design. The sample consisted of 300 adult patients; the type of sampling was non-probabilistic by convenience. The technique used was the documentation of clinical histories. Six experts were used to validate the instrument. The data obtained were tabulated in the statistical program SPSS Statistics V22, which, for easy understanding, were presented in tables. Finally, the principles of beneficence and confidentiality were considered. Results. Of the total number of patients [100 % (300)], 46.3 % were aged between 22 and 44 years, 68 % were male, 80.7 % worked actively, 84.7 % had a history of high blood pressure (HBP), and 83 % had diabetes. It was also evident that 55.7 % of the adult patients attended had the presence of metabolic syndrome based on the clinical profile, expressed by means of the chi-square test (x2 =13.653; P = <0.05), which was statistically significant. Conclusions. Metabolic syndrome exists on the basis of the clinical-epidemiological profile in adult patients seen at the medical post.

Objective. The objective of the present study was to know the eating habits and behaviors of students who are studying the first year of their degree in Nutrition, in the San Salvador Academic Department of the Catholic University of Santiago del Estero, Jujuy, Argentina, in 2022. Methods. The research was conducted from a flexible qualitative approach and used the dietary anamnesis as an instrument for collecting information. The interviews were semi-structured, individual and virtual, with open questions to learn habits and behaviors referred to what, how much, why, what, with whom and where students usually eat. The analysis was carried out through the process of discovery, codification and relativization, considering the categories defined a priori and emergent. Results. It was possible to know the behaviors and eating habits of the students, the context of the commensality, the tastes, preferences and food aversions, as well as the complexity underlying them. Conclusions. Research on food practices should not be reduced only to the selection of foods in variety and quantity, but it is necessary to know the context and circumstances in which the food event takes place on a daily basis. It is important to know the accepted and denied tastes, preferences, aversions and dislikes, food strategies, senses, meanings, types of commensality, among other characteristics. In this way, it is also intended that food anamnesis is a research tool to systematize the professional practice of work in the office performed by the professional of nutrition.

Currently, cases of severe infection in the newborn are occasional. Omphalitis is an infection of the umbilicus and surrounding tissues; it traditionally presents with erythema, induration, foul odor and  hypersensitivity of the periumbilicalskin associated or not with purulent exudate. We report the case of a 20-dayold newborn who presented to the emergency department with neonatal sepsis, fnger abscess, periorbital cellulitis and umbilical hernia. We describe the onset of the clinical picture, evolution and treatment. Thus, the quality of life of neonatesdepends, to a large extent, on the health care provided to them. Although omphalitis has a favorable progression, cases complicated with necrotizing fasciitis, myonecrosis or systemic disease can lead to high morbidity and mortality

The application of ergonomics at work is based on the first ergonomic disorders that people who suffered from similar ailments received, since these present more risks in offices and that there may be more possibility that they suffer injuries and pain as time goes by, the which ergonomically designed equipment was established to help protect workers from one or more musculoskeletal disorders. Ergonomics is a science that studies the key tools to design, evaluate and redesign workplaces in organizations to the dangers that each one of them is exposed to in order to model a system that safeguards its integrity, reduces risks, such as bad posture at work, considerably reducing during implementation the program is divided into five stages, which are carried out by the workers: analysis of the company, evaluating ergonomic risks, development and implementation of the action plan, and follow-up of the rules to the control measures, with the intention that this analysis allows to know the levels of risk that are exposed and provide solutions such as reducing working hours, also reducing health expenses by the company as well as locating the break points that can be modified. places and comfortable areas for the well-being of the worker. Water is a fundamental need for human beings, however, it was not until 1958 that the "International Standards for Drinking Water" were created, establishing the parameters to indicate when water is for human consumption; later it underwent several modifications for its better understanding. In the case of Peru, the consumption of drinking water is a constitutional right by Law No. 30588, where 90.8% have access to the service, but most doubt its quality; On the other hand, the inhabitants who do not have it look for other sources, risking consuming water that does not meet the admissible parameters, thus affecting their health. Therefore, the objective of the study is to analyze the applicability of the IRCA methodology in Peru to improve drinking water quality standards. The type of approach of this research is descriptive to facilitate the deepening of the details of the subject to be treated. According to the results, there are several similarities regarding the analysis of the parameters between Resolution 2115 of 2007 and Supreme Decree No. 031-2010-SA. It is concluded that there is not enough information on the application of the IRCA methodology in Peru; however, its applicability is possible if said method is readjusted, mainly to indicate a minimum number of water samples analyzed so that it is statistically viable and the results are reliable.
