Resumen
Bamboo as a structural element itself goes back to several hundred years ago, where the availability of both economic resources, raw materials, construction equipment and construction methods were very scarce. In those times, bamboo was already used by man, you could see some furniture, wax or household objects (beds, chairs, brooms etc.).
In China the use of bamboo is very common, it is one of the few places in the world where man has managed to give it a wide variety of uses, from medicinal, to ornamental, to include it in the construction of various types of Projects.
The inclusion of bamboo in the construction activities carried out by man, is largely due to the myriad advantages it offers from a constructive point of view, as well as the advantages from the ecological point of view. The various research programs that have been carried out have shown that there are different techniques and methods with which the constructive characteristics of bamboo can be improved.

Resumen
It has been proposed to solve the problem of transporting objects at the domestic level using a four-legged robot, and inthis case we worked with an Arduino board. It has been considered whether it is possible to create a four-legged robot that works atthe domestic level, for which it seeks to walk and that it can be controlled. This research describes the approaches of how the structureshould be in terms of mechanics, and the programming of the Arduino board for the robot to fulfill its mission. The problems thatarose about the robot such as stability and its control are also raised, and this has given different twists to the investigation, whichleads to also include factors such as the angle at which the motors will move and the material for the final structure of the legs, sothat it has enough resistance to load or transport different objects. In addition, the components that must be included, both the structureand the softwares with which we work, are presented. Keywords Robot, Arduino, servomotor, four-legged robot.

Resumen
This research aimed to identify wich year of the civil engineering career generates more stress in university students. The study was conducted during the first semester 2019 of the Technological University of Panama. In order to know, in what year the highest level of stress was generated, a survey was applied to a representative sample of students each year where different points related to physical, psychological and cognitive reactions, stressors and coping mechanisms were analyzed. Due to the results found it was concluded that the year in wich students generate more stress is the fourth year of the university degree, highlighting different stressors such as, overload of tasks and jobs, limited time for assignments and evaluation by teachers, and the most commonly used coping mechanisms were the elaboration of a plan and execution of their tasks, and the ability of assertiveness.

Resumen
The following research project is aimed at people who suffer visual impairment, whose needs to have access to information are ignored, forcing them to stay out of all activities, in this case we focus on the way in which they can identify an object (product) in front of them. For this reason, we decided to implement a new and innovative Eye QR, a project that facilitates the recognition of objects for these people, thus improving the perception of blind people when using this device.

Resumen
Water scarcity is a growing problem, which we cannot ignore, because it negatively affects the social development of the population worldwide. One of the alternatives to face the lack of water is the efficient use of rainwater. The main objective of this research was to study the feasibility of using a rainwater harvesting system and how it could save on a large scale the amount of drinking water consumed in dry season nurseries in Panama City. By applying a data collection instrument to the managers of the nurseries studied (Jardines Del Bonsái SA and Arboretum Genera Palmarum LTD SA), the measurements corresponding to theconsumption of drinking water in the months of January, February and March were obtained, with the purpose of comparing them with the average level of rainfall in Panama for those same months. Using the data provided by the Empresa de Transmisión Eléctrica S.A. (ETESA), it was observed that the first three months of the year are the months with the least amount of rainfall, therefore, the demand for drinking water for plant irrigation increases. A system was proposed that consists of the installation of channels on the roofs of the nursery to collect rainwater in the last months of the year, which are the rainiest. With the implementation of this system, more than 2.98% could be saved from the use of drinking water in nurseries during the summer.

Resumen
In this work, the predisposition to purchase generic products and recognized brands is evaluated with respect to the predominant color used in advertisements published on social networks. The analysis was performed on a sample of seventy-one individuals, segmented as users of social networks between the ages of 18 and 25. The primary colors of the visible color spectrum (red, yellow and blue) were considered according to the traditional color model. This study is framed in the field of neuromarketing, considered as the application of neuroscience techniques to the marketing of products and services. The methodology used is based on the collection of documentary information, application of instruments for the collection of sample data and interviews with specialists in psychology and neuromarketing. The results show that the use of primary colors as predominant colors in the ads published on social networks could be a factor in the willingness to buy the advertised products.

Resumen
The management and disposal of solid waste is a worldwide problem; Latin America, and Panama does not escape to this reality. The goal of this work was to estimate of the amount of domiciliary recyclable plastic and glass discarded in the Province of Chiriquí. While developing the research, environmental information about benefits of recycling was presented to educate people about the problem of residual plastic and glass. During a month, the accumulated recyclable plastic and glass waste was collected and weighed. A total of 26.03 kg/month of recyclable plastic was produced from eight sampled houses, with an average of 3.25kg/month of recyclable waste per house. Only one of the houses provided data to estimate the disposal of recyclable glass; which was 1.94 kg/month of glass containers, this could indicate that families trend to reuse glass more than plastic. Based on the information generated, it can be estimated that these houses could be producing about 0.312 tons of plastic per year. This work represents the first published estimate on the production of household recyclable waste in David, Chiriquí; which could be information of relevance for the formulation of local solid waste recycling and management initiatives.

Resumen
During the last years in Panama, noise pollution has increased, which, although it may seem harmless, manages to reach such high levels, progressively affecting people's health. For this reason, both in closed and open spaces it is necessary to monitor the decibels of the noise. Expert systems enable expert knowledge to be represented, facilitating more accurate decision making. One of the techniques for building expert systems is through the concept of fuzzy logic. This article presents the prototype of an expertsystem based on fuzzy logic for noise monitoring and an alert mechanism in educational spaces. The developed system proposes the use of artificial intelligence techniques for decision making and exit mechanisms that act as alerts, specifically through state traffic lights, indicating the level of noise captured. This work presents the problem, a prototype of the functional expert system, and the results obtained from the tests carried out.

Resumen
This paper analyzes the influence of five types of thermal pastes on the performance of three personal computer models. A quantitative research approach was applied, the design was non-experimental. The study population was three personal computers to which the thermal compound was exchanged for five different types of thermal pastes. The investigation was conducted in the district of Changuinola, province of Bocas del Toro, Panama. The results indicate that, with the silver-based thermal paste, a high thermal conductivity was reached, while the coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) was adopted, achieving a significant increase in the thermal capacity of the dissipater to undo the heat generated by the microprocessors. Therefore, it was concluded that, the selection of the thermal paste is a variable to take into account when selecting the appropriate compound for the processor- The study showed that, for the environmental conditions of Bocas del Toro, Panama, the thermal paste with better performance of thefive tests, was that of the silver-based compound.

Resumen
CO2 production has a negative impact on the environment, which leads to opting for solutions that can counteract the emission of this gas efficiently. This project presents the reforestation with the Paulownia Tomentosa species to mitigate the atmospheric impact produced by the existing motor vehicles in the cities of Chitré, Herrera Province and La Villa de los Santos, Los Santos Province. They are located in the Arco Seco (dry arch) of the Republic of Panama. Taking into account the carbon dioxide absorption capacity of the species, the number of vehicles within the places studied and the existing natural reservoirs in the area, the data indicates that the number of trees of this species to be planted is less than 2000 seedlings.
