Resumen
The pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2 has not only affected the physical health of millions of people, but also affects the mental health of the population, especially front-line health personnel. However, there is a large information gap in this regard, which is why it was proposed to evaluate the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the mental health of health personnel in the state of Mérida, Venezuela. Method: This is a descriptive and cross-sectional observational study, where the DASS-21 scale was applied to 150 individuals belonging to the health personnel of Mérida State, Venezuela. Results: Among those surveyed, 34.7% presented stress, 33.3% anxiety and 34.6% showed signs of depression, at different levels. It was determined that 42.7% of all participants were working in areas intended for care of COVID-19 patients, and those who have the positions of resident doctors and nurses, presented notable increases in the levels of the emotional variables studied. Conclusion: As a consequence of the pandemic, the demands for the medical practice increased, resulting in higher rates of stress, anxiety and depression in the health personnel who are responsible for dealing with it. For this reason, the importance of approaching these individuals in order to evaluate the status of mental health should be emphasized, and, if it is necessary, provide adequate therapy from the hand of psychiatrists and psychologists to ensure the integrity of those who represent the first line of defense against this new disease.

Resumen
The teaching strategies of Mathematics are conceived as a set of actions carried out by the teacher, with the conscious objective that the student learns in the most effective way; they are actions controlled by the teacher and have a high degree of complexity and include the teaching aids for their implementation, control and evaluation of the purposes. Therefore, the research aimed to “evaluate the teaching strategies used by the Mathematics teacher that promote Mathematics competence during COVID-19. The research was framed within the interpretive paradigm, it was descriptive and its design was a case study. The research was carried out in four phases: the first “preparatory” phase; the second phase was carried out "field work" where an in-depth interview was applied to the teacher. In the in-depth interview, it was found that teaching strategies that promote Mathematical competence present deficiencies in some categories. The third “analytical” phase where the information was reduced, synthesized and transformed; and the fourth “informative” phase where the results are made known and the research is disseminated. It is concluded, the teaching strategies of Mathematics are decisive in the promotion of competences in students, so it should be emphasized that teachers include in their didactic sequences teaching strategies that emphasize the solution of problems based on competencies and not in repetitive and mechanical processes.

Resumen
This investigation aimed to find out the way a group of Indigenous students perceives the occidental educational system of the English class. This Emic micro-ethnography was conducted with a sample of 30 participants, who are students of distinct English levels of a Public University located in the highlands of Ecuador. This sample was divided into two groups. Phenomenological interviews were carried out with the first group, in turn, its data were compared with that of the Questionnaire of the second group. The obtained results disclose that the lack of a real cognitive justice in the English class leads Indigenous students to feel as folklore producers, and not as Ecuadorian citizens who can teach different realities that contribute to the construction of an inclusive society. In general, this target group kindly demands in English classes not only a development of their national identity but also of their ethnic one.
