Resumen
Introduction: The treatment of posterior fossa tumors involves surgical resection, either alone or in combination with adjuvant treatments, such as radiotherapy and chemotherapy. After surgical resection, 20-30% of children experience posterior fossa syndrome. In this case series, we describe the medical approach and functional recovery of three children with posterior fossa syndrome in a rehabilitation center in Buenos Aires.
Case presentation: Three children (two male and one female), between 5 and 15 years of age, with posterior fossa syndrome within 30 days after surgery, and hospitalized for neurorehabilitation between 2016 and 2021 were analyzed. We evaluated imaging findings, neurological manifestations with the scale for the assessment and rating of ataxia (SARA), and functional mobility with the functional mobility scale (FMS) before and after rehabilitation.
Conclusion: Upon discharge from the rehabilitation center, all three children showed improvement in neurological manifestations, functional mobility, and imaging findings. We suggest conducting prospective studies on a larger sample size and with validated scales.

Resumen
Introduction: The objective of this study is to describe the clinical course of two adult patients admitted to a hospital of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires who required invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV) and developed tracheal lesions found by fiberoptic bronchoscopy.
Case presentation: The first patient, aged 34, was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) with severe pneumonia secondary to COVID-19. The patient required IMV and a tracheostomy. He was subsequently diagnosed with a tracheoesophageal fistula. After weaning, he was fitted with a Montgomery prosthesis and voluntarily discharged.
The second patient, aged 55, was admitted to the ICU with severe pneumonia secondary to COVID-19. The patient required IMV and a tracheostomy. Fiberoptic bronchoscopy showed necrosis of the first and second tracheal ring, generating subglottic stenosis and excessive dynamic airway collapse. After weaning, he was fitted with a Montgomery prosthesis and finally transferred to a rehabilitation clinic.
Conclusion: We described the clinical course of two patients with severe pneumonia due to COVID-19 who developed tracheal lesions.

Resumen
Objective: To analyze the effects of different training interventions for the prevention of injuries in runners ofdifferent levels.
Materials and method: A systematic review without meta-analysis was conducted. A literature search limitedto controlled clinical studies, non-randomized controlled studies, and randomized controlled studies conducted on runners of all levels and published from January 2002 to January 2022 was performed. We analyzed the effects of training for injury prevention, compared with normal training or non-intervention, and its effectiveness on the incidence of injuries in this population.
Results: We included 10 articles (N=7960 runners) for full reading and data analysis. Multiple interventionswere applied for the prevention of injuries in runners, with contradictory findings regarding the effectiveness in reducing race-related injuries (in total, 3134). The most effective training methods were professionally-directed and monitored programs, focused on strengthening foot muscles; multicomponent programs; and functional training with neuromuscular re-education of the dynamic valgus knee and running re-training. The programs that did not show a significant impact on reducing race-related injuries were online and self-regulated programs.
Conclusion: We cannot confirm that one strategy is more effective than another in reducing the incidence ofinjuries in runners. Individualized programs and multicomponent programs focused on neuromuscular aspects and proper running technique, regularly monitored by professionals, may be considered effective; however, the number of reliable studies is limited. Further research is needed on this field.

Resumen
Lateral ankle sprains (LAS) are the most prevalent musculoskeletal injuries among subjects participating in physical activities and sports. In addition, up to 70% of the general population has sustained a LAS, with the highest rate of recurrence of all musculoskeletal injuries of the lower limbs. Subjects with a history of LAS have limited ankle dorsiflexion range of motion in closed kinetic chain (CKC), which is a common movement during functional tasks and essential in return to sports. The weight-bearing lunge test is used to assess ankle dorsiflexion range of motion in CKC and may be performed through different procedures. The objective of this study is to describe two procedures of measuring ankle dorsiflexion in CKC through the use of mobile applications.

Resumen
A complete vestibular and oculomotor assessment is the key to differentiating between peripheral and central causes of acute vertigo
The physical therapist must be trained to perform a specialized assessment of the patient
The objetive this step by step guide is to provide the reader with detail on the procedure and interpretation of the most relevant evaluation tools of the physical examination, with and without visual fixation, to perform a differential diagnosis of a patient who enters the physiotherapy consultation.

Resumen
One of the main characteristics of the artistic context in Ecuador in the mid-nineteenth century is the complete absence of schools for this purpose, supplying this lack by learning, repetitive many times and with little variation, in the workshops. In addition and in what corresponds to painting, religious themes or portraits of aristocratic families, were the genres mostly practiced. However, it will be from the stays of the costumbrista painter Ernest Charton -in 1849 and from 1862 to 1864- or, from those of the romantic Edwin Church -in 1853 and 1857- in the country, which -very especially and in the first instance - will imply a resounding change in the plastic representation itself, by teaching new and more modern pictorial techniques to a whole generation of Ecuadorian artists. For this reason and in this work, the teaching exercised by Ernest Charton in this regard is exposed, as well as his important contribution and influence in the renewed plastic arts of Ecuador.
