An adult dog of 22 kg, American Staffordshire Terrier, was treated at the Pet Stop Unaí veterinary clinic, being diagnosed with intestinal intussusception. The animal presented intense dehydration, congested mucous membranes, bloody emesis, hypotension and prostration. Physical examination showed abdominal tenderness to palpation. To define the diagnosis, an ultrasound examination was performed, which clearly showed a target-type lesion in layers and parallel lines with hyper and hypoechoic characteristics, in addition to the presence of a foreign body causing intussusception. We opted for resection and anastomosis of the affected portion. Post-surgical recovery was favorable and the patient was discharged on the fifth day after the procedure.

The main objective of this article is to present to the entire Brazilian academic and scientific community the multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary productions that aimed the greatest scientific impact calculated by Google h index in the Portuguese language, conceptualizing covid-19 in several areas. In other words, an approach to the most cited and referenced productions in the Portuguese language that deal with covid-19. The objective is to update researchers on the most researched topics in various areas and present, in a state-of-the-art form, these most relevant researches that had the greatest impact based on bibliometric indicators.

Reflecting on the passage of time, the author draws a parallel between the myth of Sisyphus in the work of Camus and the possibility of a contemporary psychoanalytic view of healthy aging.

Prezados(as) leitores(as) Com entusiasmo oferecemos o novo número de nossa Revista, mantendo a expectativa de que o seu conteúdo venha a estimular e frutificar reflexões sobre o ENVELHECER. A partir da constatação do aumento significativo da porcentagem de idosos na população mundial e da crescente mudança de seu papel, circunstâncias estas relacionadas à construção social do presente contexto histórico e econômico, buscamos interrogar como a psicanálise, teórica e clinicamente, pode contribuir para o estudo de tal parcela da população. Em termos gerais, observa-se que as inexoráveis mudanças corporais, quando o tempo mostra sua face mais explícita, trazem um estranho a ser recebido, simbolizado e integrado na linha da vida, mas que, de outra forma, poderá ser desmentido ou até mesmo tornar-se uma sombra sobre o Eu. Assim, interrogamos como seria possível conceber metapsicologicamente o envelhecimento, quais ilusões e desilusões nos acompanham e o que conquistamos com a experiência de envelhecer, analisando como isto se apresenta na clínica psicanalítica com idosos. Ampliamos a indagação para refletir acerca de como envelhecemos na condição de analistas e como envelhecem igualmente os preceitos e as instituições psicanalíticas. Iniciamos com a publicação de trabalhos que abordam as vicissitudes do envelhecimento. Abrão Slavutzky, em Aprendendo a envelhecer, inspirado em uma carta de Freud, então com setenta e nove anos, endereçada à Lou Andreas-Salomé, discorre sobre a presença da bondade, expressa na gratidão, e do humor, como elementos auxiliares para o enfrentamento dos inevitáveis horrores advindos da decadência corporal e mental causada pelo envelhecimento, acrescentando ainda a paciência – elemento tipicamente analítico – como balizadora do processo. Silvia Flechner, em Envelhecer é humano, estuda os fatores presentes no corpo, na psique, na sociedade e na cultura contemporânea que se entrelaçam no processo de envelhecimento, dando uma qualidade específica ao seu desenvolvimento. A seguir, Vivian Peres Day apresenta um paralelo entre o mito de Sísifo presente em Camus e uma visão psicanalítica do envelhecimento saudável no artigo O paradoxo da finitude. Prosseguindo com essa seção, Maria Lucia Castilho Romera, no artigo Envelhec(S)endo: temporalidade interpretante?!?, advoga sobre o direito de ser velho nos termos de cada individualidade, rompendo com a categorização de como o outro vê aquele que envelhece, permitindo que o contato com a experiência particular seja o elemento autorizador do ser nesta etapa da vida. Um vértice metapsicológico sobre o envelhecimento está presente nos dois artigos seguintes. Em busca do infantil na velhice, de Cláudio Laks Eizirik, aborda a busca do elemento mais genuíno de cada um como condição para, de forma verdadeira e profunda, nos envolvermos na experiência de estar vivo ao longo de todo o ciclo vital, tanto no indivíduo que envelhece quanto na escuta analítica, à medida que o analista também envelhece. Juan David Almeyda Sarmiento e Herivelto Pereira de Souza, em “‘Tenho dois relógios, sempre tive dois, um no pulso e outro na cabeça.’ Notas sobre o Unheimlich e a velhice a partir de O pai (2020), estudam a experiência da velhice nos termos do tempo, do corpo e da família, contida nos limites presentes nas noções de o Inquietante e de o familiar de Freud. Um terceiro conjunto de artigos está direcionado ao estudo clínico do envelhecimento. Abrindo a seção, em Envelhecendo. Tudo é Rio, Miriam Altman, Esther Abramo Gonçalves, Greice Priscilla Kökény de Oliveira e Francisca Izabel Pereira da Silva Teixeira trazem dados quantitativos de pacientes com mais de 55 anos atendidos ao longo de oito anos no CAP da SBPSP, os quais ajudam a qualificar o universo da chamada clínica psicanalítica do idoso, mostrando, por meio de exemplos clínicos, a contribuição que a psicanálise pode trazer para pessoas que atravessam este período da existência. O artigo seguinte, Onde me encontro? Não me reconheço! de Tereza Guimarães, busca estudar as ansiedades dos idosos, decorrentes das mudanças físicas e psíquicas e de suas manifestações clínicas. Por sua vez, Francisca Izabel Pereira da Silva Teixeira, em Atando as pontas do fio da vida: o acompanhamento clínico de Alice, apresenta-nos o sensível relato clínico de uma paciente que inicia o seu atendimento psicanalítico em uma fase inicial de Alzheimer, demonstrando as vivências internas da dupla ao longo do processo, assim como orientando sobre algumas adaptações técnicas neste campo de trabalho. Cibele M. M. Di Battista Brandão, no trabalho Transformações e expansões do envelhecer, ao longo de situações clínicas, orienta sua abordagem para as vivências do paciente e do analista frente ao envelhecer e seu trabalho de significação. Seguindo neste caminho, publicamos a tradução do texto de Peter Fonagy, When analysts need to retire: the taboo of ageing in psychoanalysis, para quem agradecemos a gentileza da autorização. O autor disserta com sensibilidade e profundidade sobre o difícil período que antecede a decisão da aposentadoria por parte de um psicanalista, assim como suas particularidades psicodinâmicas e éticas, tanto individuais quanto institucionais, alertando para este tema desconcertante, por vezes objeto de negação, mas inevitável de ser enfrentado. Completando o rol de artigos temáticos, publicamos Passagem do tempo, ilusões e desilusões em um grupo societário: Fato clínico psicanalítico, de Germano Vollmer Filho, em que a coexistência de diferentes gerações, com suas ilusões e desilusões, são impactadas pela dor da diferença, pois, ao se tentar sobrepujar tal coexistência por meio de sua abolição, corre-se o risco de perder a autenticidade proveniente da aceitação da realidade externa e da aceitação de si próprio. Por fim, na sessão de Temas Diversos, encontra-se o artigo Clínica de casal. Somos diferentes? O estrangeiro no casal, de Lisette Weissmann, que, a partir da Psicanálise das Configurações Vinculares, estuda a dificuldade de aceitação das diferenças subjetivas no seio do casal, inserido e influenciado pelo contexto social. A research work developed from the field rupture psychoanalytic method, in the sense proposed by Fabio Herrmann. The concept of the unconscious is transmuted into relative and plural unconscious, understood as the logic regulating human relations or the phenomena under investigation. This text is circumscribed by the apprehensions of becoming old and the possible creations/inventions of a specific temporality in which one is no longer only what one apprehends to be, but also what the often conflicting confluence says about the way the other sees the one who grows old. Thus, we seek through a questioning-interpreting methodological posture to unveil some constitutive rules of the reality-world in the aging process, as well as the vicissitudes of instincts/drives, which no longer seem to pulsate in the familiar measure. Following conjectures regarding the principle of the absurd, in which one glimpses, through exaggeration, the inverse of what one would like to show, we consider policing actions to utilize the term ‘elderly’ in place ‘old,’ taking away the right of old age to institute itself as a particularity. The condition of subjection is delineated through a narrative arising from clinical experiences with adults, elderly and old, as well as the author-psychoanalyst herself. Exit paths are noted, traced from sublimation, humor, and psychic suffering itself.

Based on the conception of psychic temporality as the manner in which psychic processes create their own time management, and the concept of the psychoanalytic clinical fact, the author studies the illusions and disillusions in a social group. The theoretical developments of John Steiner, Irma Pick and Ignês Sodré are utilized to investigate the emotional experience of members of social groups in which different generations live together in the same time period: one younger and with illusions about facing fears and uncertainties of the future, and an older one who must deal with the same uncertainties and mourn losses. When facing the painful reality of this difference, they consequently try to abolish it. Loss of authenticity would occur, based on some acceptance of external reality and some acceptance of oneself, originally the result of an alpha function capable of transforming the emotional suffering of the child into the real figure of the mother. In this sense, the encounter with psychoanalysis is not only initially authentic, but a continuous process.

One of the objectives of this article is to present and publicize the work of a group of psychoanalysts from the Sociedade Brasileira de Psicanálise de São Paulo (SBPSP), comprised of Affiliated Members and Associate Members who have been gathering for about 8 years to provide clinical care to patients aged 55 and older. Based on a sample of clinical data collected at the Centro de Atendimento Psicanalítico (CAP, Psychoanalytic Care Center), we encountered a picture of aging among the population that comes to us for help. Through clinical vignettes of some of the patients we also follow how analytical listening can benefit them at this specific moment of life, correlating the clinic with some psychoanalytic concepts that help us to understand aging, transience, and the finitude of human beings. We conclude with reflections on the need for a greater number of analysts interested in the subject and the service, as we perceive the contribution of psychoanalysis to people going through this period of existence, as well as the need to expand this type of activity in our society.

This paper aims at establishing a dialogue between psychoanalysis and philosophy, more precisely between kleinian object relations theory and the social and political philosophy of Habermas. The kleinian theory shows how our identities are formed through projections and introjections in our relations with others, coloured by love and hatred, guilt and reparation. Habermas’s theory of discourse shows how, in communication, we anticipate an ethical ideal which recognizes the other as an equal partner. The dialogue between these two currents reveals the possibility of a type of reflection and interpretation (R. Britton’s “third position” or Wittgenstein’s critique of a private language) which goes beyond objectivism and subjectivism.

The author studies the aging process and its impact on the career of a psychoanalyst, both as an individual and institutionally. Studies are presented demonstrating the inherent human neuro-cognitive changes in the aging process that need to be considered since they require professional ethical care of the individual in the exercise of their work and also from the psychoanalytic institution in which they are inserted, given that such changes and limitations will, at some point, determine the professional’s decision to retire. The author notes that, despite the considerable variation of limitations to the exercise of the profession arising from aging, this topic has been a taboo and needs to be confronted.

In this article, the author aims at considering the perception and visual contemplation of the hand by a newborn infant as being linked to the representation of a primary object comprising continence and its internal skeleton. Then, the hand would be one of the earliest radial forms of continence, which has already been discussed by the author. By the way, the interconnections developed between the hands, during the same period, seem to be part of and witness of the construction of such representations in identification games ranging from the adhesive register to the projective register. In support of the observations and considerations made by Ester Bick, in her article concerning the observation of breast-fed infants, already toward that sense, and of the author’s own works on intra-corporeal identifications, she relates clinical materials drawn from the psycho-analytic treatment of two girls who have emerged from autistic defences and who place the same problematics into “having one draw” or drawing the outline of their hands in several configurations.
