Resumen
During the XVI Mexican Herpetology Congress, the symposium "Studies on Turtles and Tortoises of Mexico" was organized, featuring seven presentations, each dedicated to a different species. These presentations covered various aspects of the biology and conservation of this group. The research findings hold significant value for the management and conservation of turtles and tortoises in Mexico, offering insights into their ecology, threats, and future prospects. This paper provides a summary of the key findings and conclusions from the symposium, emphasizing the importance of these studies and the need for future research in the field of turtle/tortoise conservation in the country.

Resumen
Amelanism can be defined as the lack of melanin (black-brown pigments) from all or parts of the skin, including eyes, as a result of the congenital and heritable failure of the pigment-producing cells during embryonic development. Amelanistic (and albino) reptiles can produce the red-yellow pigment xanthin thus retaining these colorations. To our knowledge, there are no records of amelanism on captive-reared freshwater turtles Trachemys venusta. Herein, we describing the aberrant color of three specimens (two adults and one juvenile): red pigmentation of the iris of the eye, and the rest of the body with smoky white, yellow, green and orange shades. These kind of color aberration is quite rare in nature because the affected individuals may be disadvantaged in their environment.

Resumen
The jurisprudential precedent in Ecuadorian law must be analyzed from its scope of application in the judgments of the Constitutional Cost. Therefore, the objective will be to analyze the illegitimate distances between the precedents issued by this high Court. The right to legal security is also analyzed from a jurisprudential and normative perspective, since it can be violated by the unjustified deviation that the Court has sometimes made of its own rulings; without this action being duly motivated, and without manifestly substantiating its change of argument. This unjustified distance causes that there is no certainty of the criteria that the constitutional forum will apply in its decisions, which generates distrust in the constitutional justice system.

Resumen
Autism Spectrum Disorder is a condition that has been on the rise in recent years. The objective is to analyze the recognition of constitutional rights to children and adolescents suffering from ASD in Ecuador, in addition to assessing the effectiveness of institutional mechanisms for compliance. The approach to the problem must be from a theoretical, normative and institutional perspective, which allowed us to conclude that, despite the fact that there is protection by the State and the norm regarding the rights of children and adolescents with ASD, there are violations of rights, especially due to the lack of effective institutional protection mechanisms that respond to the needs of these vulnerable groups.

Resumen
The objective of the article is to analyze the reasons for the failure of the productive promotion projects implemented in Chachi communities in the north of Esmeraldas between the years of 1990 and 2000. Since the research has a social and human focus, the use of ethnography as a method to achieve the proposed objective has become relevant. It is concluded that the failures of the productive promotion projects, in the Chachi case, were due to the lack of understanding of the structure of the relationships and social networks under which the communities operated and continue to operate, and, as well as, to the lack of commitment on the part of the organizational leaders and those responsible for the projects with the cause.

Resumen
Pension systems around the world have evolved dynamically, it is necessary to achieve the sustainability of the system to provide its contributors and pensioners with confidence in the model. For the IESS pension system, it is important to obtain predictions to warn stakeholders what could happen if corrective measures are not taken. The IESS pension sustainability predictions were obtained using the Markov Monte Carlo Chains (CMMC) and Least Squares method, using data from January 1, 2012 to June 30, 2022 and their processing with the GNU Octave Software. The results of the models reveal that the pension system would be sustainable until December 2023; therefore, the authorities should implement the appropriate strategies to sustain the system.
