Resumen
The janeiro grass (Eriochloa polystachya Kunth) is a species used in forage with characteristics welcome to thrive in marginal conditions that need to be improved in its nutritional value or other agronomic characteristics. Gamma rays can be used for the genetic improvement of plants and generate mutations that can be useful. The research was carried out with the objective of determining the best cutting time. The study was carried out in the field of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the Technical University of Babahoyo. Five doses 0; 25; fifty; 75 and 100 gamma ray gray Co60. Two cutting times 25 and 40 days after the equalization cut and two doses of fertilization with N-P-K were evaluated. A randomized complete block design (DBCA) with factorial arrangement was used, which were contrasted with the Tukey test at 95% probability, with the statistical package InfoStat. The averages were for branch length 1.94 meters, leaf length and leaf width 30.76 cm and 1.82 cm respectively, the best protein percentage was present in the control with 12.29%.

Resumen
This research was established with the help of corn producers from the Ventanas sector, a city known until now as the corn capital, which is located in the province of Los Ríos, Ecuador. The objective of this work was to somehow describe the situation of farmers in the social, economic and environmental framework, to determine the sustainability of the production systems they manage. For which a sample of 40 farmers was taken, and through a survey, which included questions related to the objective pursued, obtain the information that allows us to characterize these producers. The materialized results indicate the difficulties that this union has to survive, especially the small producer, due to its high dependence on the sowing of this grass and being able to maintain its family nucleus. Only a small percentage of families have in their agricultural activities the planting of other crops and the sale of animals to obtain additional income. Added to other problems such as difficult access to basic services, education and technology that hinder the progress of this agricultural sector. The results were systematized by analytical, descriptive / observation method.

Resumen
The tolerance to salinity of advanced rice lines F5 was evaluated in segregating populations derived from interspecific crosses between Oryza sativa L. ssp. japonica x Oryza rufipogon G. and of japonica type line crosses; through physiological indicators. 30 accessions were tested in two environments (0,2 and 7,0 dS / m). In this analysis, the differences between the dry matter yield under optimal conditions and the yield under stress conditions (salinity) were considered, to select the most tolerant genotypes, 8 tolerance indices were evaluated: relative reduction percentage (RR%), salinity susceptibility index (SSI), salinity intensity index (SII), mean productivity (MP), geometric mean productivity (GMP), stress tolerance (TOL), salinity tolerance index (ITS) and intensity of stress (IS). According to Pearson's correlation, the most adequate indices to identify salinity-tolerant genotypes were: RR%, MP, GMP, and ITS. The Salinity Tolerance Index (ITS), selected the genotype Puyón / JP003P11-103115 (7) as tolerant and the lines Puyón / JP002P8-30552 (6) and Puyón / JP002P8-294930 (11) as moderately tolerant to saline stress.

Resumen
Intestinal parasitosis are etiological factors for infectious diseases especially in schoolchildren in rural areas. In Ecuador, they occupy the first causes of outpatient care in pediatrics. This descriptive, retrospective, cross-cutting study, with a qualitative-quantitative approach, used documentary review, bibliographic data analysis, scientific observation and surveying at two rural schools in Ecuador in January 2020. In the María Luisa de Sotomayor Educational Unit, El Porvenir, Babahoyo, Los Ríos, a sample of 70 schoolchildren was worked on, while at the Francisco Pizarro School of Basic Education, Caluma, Bolívar, the exhibition consisted of 56. For coproparasitological examinations, wet and concentration direct examination techniques were used, in addition to the Kato-Katz quantification technique, allowing the diagnosis of 88.1% of infected schoolchildren. In both institutions, the group of 8 to 12 years, was where intestinal parasitosis predominated, excelling the male genus. In the María Luisa Educational Unit of Sotomayor, 87.1%, the total sample was found parasitic and at the Francisco Pizarro School of Basic Education, 89.3%. The symptomatology presented by children at both educational institutions was abdominal pain, anorexia, vomiting and diarrhoea. Risk factors included weather conditions such as frequent rains, high relative humidity and high temperatures; insufficient hand washing, poor water quality for human consumption and the lack of a sewerage system were evident.

Resumen
The objective of the present investigation was to determine the effect of the use of lactic acid bacteria in the inhibition of the microbiological deterioration of red tilapia fillets (Oreochromis sp), for which two genera of BAL (Streptococcus termophylus and Lactobacillus acidophylus) were analyzed in two impregnation times (1h and 2h). The fillets were kept at refrigeration temperature 3±0.5 ºC for 30 days, every 10 days the pH was evaluated (6.20 to 6.54); the percentage of water loss was (5.91% for the 1-hour level and 5.35% for the 2-hour level). Regarding the assessment of BVT-N, all BAL treatments had values (17.29 and 23.98mg 100g-1) that did not exceed the normal value of 125mg 100g-1. Within the microbiological analysis of this study, the mesophyll count in tilapia fillets treated with Lactobacillus a., presented a value of 5.47 ± 0.40 log CFU g-1 and for those treated with S. termophylus., 5.03±0.15 log CFU g-1; for E. coli., the fillets treated with BAL, concluded the analysis with an average of 5.17±0.09 log CFU g-1 and 3.42±0.21 log CFU g-1 for each of the times immersion; in both cases within the ranges established by the NTE-INEN 183-2013 norm and in the case of the BAL count we have an amount of 8.04±0.04 log CFU g-1 for Lactobacillus a., while for S. termophylus., 7.90±0.03 log CFU g-1.

Resumen
Intestinal parasitosis are infections by protozoa and helminths, which represent a serious public health problem, with wide distribution in the world and a great predominance in underdeveloped countries in rural areas, with children being the most affected. The objective of the research was to establish the frequency of intestinal helminthiasis in children under 12 years and their relationship to environmental and social determinants in the María Luisa de Sotomayor Educational Unit of el Porvenir Campus, Babahoyo, Los Ríos. A field, exploratory, descriptive and cross-cutting study was conducted, with a qualitative- quantitative approach between October 2019 and January 2020. Direct and concentration qualitative coproparasitological examinations were performed, in addition to the Kato-Katz technique as an appropriate method of quantification; the technique of direct unstruct structured scientific observation and surveys was used. Of the total sample of 70 children under the age of 12, 87.1%, parasitized, of this percentage, 42.6 %, was infected with helminths, predominantly Ascaris lumbricoides with 27.9% and Ancilostomides with 21.31%. There was a greater predominance of parasitic minors in the range of 8 to 12 years, so the male gender prevailed with a higher percentage. The social determinants that most closely related to intestinal parasitosis were hygienic, environmental and socio-economic factors, such as the consumption of uns boiled water, lack of sewerage systems and poor health education in the population. In the geographical area, climate risk factors also played a significant role.

Resumen
Skin cancer has been increasing in recent years, to the point that it is considered a public health problem. Objective. Establish the epidemiological profile of non-melanoma skin cancer in Guayaquil, between 2001 and 2015. Methodology. Observational study, with a longitudinal descriptive research design; its population and sample is Guayaquil city from 2001 to 2015, patients diagnosed with non-melanoma skin cancer. Results. On a five-year basis, it had a rate of 19.67 cases 100 000 inhabitants in the period 2001 - 2005, (men 9,95; women 9,72). Period 2006 - 2010 of 33,30 cases (men 19,87, women 17,05). Period 2011 to 2015 of 59.8 cases (men 30,7; women 29,1); observing an increase in a general way, and in both sexes that triples the cases between the first and third period; with a slight majority of cases in men. With the tendency to increase the crude rate in 2001 of 14.60; 2005 with 22.33; in 2010 with 45.70 and in 2015 with 62.98 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, corroborated with the polynomial trend where 91.1% variability was obtained. The age group of 75 years old and over had the highest rate, followed by those between the ages of 60 to 75 years. Conclusions. Non-melanoma skin cancer affects older adults and the more the age increases, the greater the risk, so an early diagnosis should be encouraged.

Resumen
In the city of Babahoyo, the sale of fresh cheese is a common activity, however, there is a lack of knowledge of good handling and hygiene practices that must be maintained for this type of process. The objective of this research was to carry out a microbiological analysis of the fresh cheeses that are commercialized in the city of Babahoyo and thus determine if this food complies with the quality standards for its consumption as indicated by the Ecuadorian technical regulation NTE INEN 1528-2012: For this purpose, 35 samples of 250g each were taken, which in turn underwent a microbiological quality control examination regarding the determination of Staphylococcus aureus, Enterobacterias and Salmonella sp., A Completely randomized experimental design (DCA) with 3 replications. After having carried out the respective microbiological analysis, the presence of bacterial load was reported in the following order: Staphylococcus aureus, presented an average population of 82.88±30.58 CFUg-1, Enterobacteria, were reported with an average of 754.57±292.84 CFUg-1 and Salmonella sp, presented an average value of 0.70±0.98 25g-1 of product, showing that there was a significant difference between the groups of pathogenic bacteria analyzed (p<0.05). Therefore, it could be concluded that the inadequate sale of fresh cheese in the 3 municipal markets evaluated represents a threat to food safety and public health of consumers in this city.

Resumen
One of the main problems in public health is child malnutrition, which affects almost 80 percent of Ecuadorian families. The research presented will show that nursing professionals take as support the current public and regulatory policies for the nutrition of children in which they attend the Nicolás Infante Díaz health sub-center during the first half of 2018, in order to prevent health problems In the short and long term, such as obesity, diabetes, malnutrition, anemia, learning and behavior problems. The present study had to objective to determine the actions of nurses in the prevention of cases of malnutrition in children under five years old, through the actions carried out by mothers. The quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional methodology was applied, with a total sample of 43 children with malnutrition, their mothers, the intervention of nursing staff in the case of nutrition. The nutritional status of children forms the basis of sustainable development and poverty reduction, so that nursing professionals in the educational and assistance role promote strategies for strengthening the care and knowledge necessary to improve eating habits. Conclusions: The nursing intervention is immersed in the process of nutritional training of the mothers of children under five years old without the intervention of age, schooling, accessibility of families.
