The current pandemic situation caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus has surpassed the capacity of intensive care units in much of the world with patients with acute respiratory failure. The necessity of protecting the health-care personnel that is in contact with this group of patients has led to the modification of existing protocols. The scheduled tracheostomy is a procedure of proven benefits, although it is considered a method that implies high risk of spraying. The aim of this work was to provide, on the basis of updated studies, a clinical practice guide aimed at determining the ideal moment to carry out this surgical act, taking into account determining factors. By taking the surgical decision, respecting the criteria described in the proposed guide, it was possible to prevent, to a greater extent, the intrahospital contagion.   Keywords: COVID-19, Pandemic, Tracheostomy

The purpose of this paper is to determine the factors that influence the flooding of agricultural areas of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the Technical University of Babahoyo, where in its 225.3 hectares the exploitation of diverse crops is carried out, both of short cycle, perennials and livestock activity. These lands present a major problem mainly in the rainy season, where floods cause significant agricultural losses. For the development of the study, the historical precipitations produced in the region were analyzed, a histogram of the last 37 years was made with the records obtained in the meteorological station of the faculty with the purpose of analyzing the behavior of the rains. An analysis of the walls constructed of earth that are in the perimeter of the property and of the sedimentation of the river in this zone. The results obtained show that the existing protection works need a redesign, due to the high levels of river water during the rainy season due to the intense rainfall that occurs in the area, the sedimentation in the river and the lack of a drainage system that allows to evacuate the volumes of water produced by the rain.

The methodology used was quantitative, non-experimental descriptive design, it consisted of applying Likert scale surveys to a sample of 285 teachers, 371 students, 236 administrative personnel and an assertiveness test applied to academic coordinators; Among its main results there is evidence of a fragile communicational assertiveness between teachers and students in online classrooms, with special attention to elements such as the use of language, handling of expressions, thoughts, feelings and emotions. It is concluded that Universities should continue to promote with holistic humanistic pedagogy, the same one that has given the transforming and non-dominating meaning to education, consequently it is necessary to promote training programs for the development of teaching skills in virtual learning through the use of assertive techniques for teaching, with emphasis on the generation of two-way teacher-student dialogues with critical thinking in the search for the truth.

The estimation of malnutrition in hospitalized pediatric patients is difficult to determine, however the application of validated tools favor its evaluation, for this reason the present study was intended to determine the relationship between protein consumption and nutritional status by scoring the STRONGkids tool. It was a non-experimental design of a transversal type of descriptive-correlational scope. The method for determining protein consumption was performed by means of a 24-hour reminder. The samples were 60 pediatric patients hospitalized at the Icaza Bustamante Hospital in Guayaquil, 32 female with a mean of 4.75 ± 2.92 years and 28 male with a mean of 5.57 ± 3.23 years. The results showed that female patients had a high risk of malnutrition and male patients had a medium risk of malnutrition; 81% of animal protein consumption, 12% of vegetable protein consumption and 88% of total protein consumption are determined by age; 94% of animal protein consumption and 11% of vegetable protein consumption is determined by total protein consumption. According to the Coefficient of Nutritional Adequacy, a low protein consumption was evidenced in the average population. In conclusion, the relationship between protein consumption and the STRONGkids tool score was not evident; however, there is a tendency to find pediatric patients at high risk of malnutrition in those with low total protein intake.

The Google Classroom platform that according to the study carried out by (Ortiz, MachinMastromatteo, & Romo Gonzáles, 2019) is a simple and practical platform, easy to understand, totally free, you only need to have a Google account to enjoy all these tools, it can be used as if it were a social network since it can be freely modified by loading various tools to carry out the study processes such as pdf files, word, links to videos, when adding topics the most recent ones remain at the beginning, which is familiar to social network users, uploading questionnaires, carrying out the qualification process and delivering them so that students can easily know them in real time, the objective was to establish the development of virtual classrooms through Google tools. Methodology, the deductive method was applied which go from the general to the particular to extract the logical conclusions from premises, it was also pertinent to use the analytical method to decompose the object of study into different parts to facilitate the research process and help to understand in depth the elements that are part of it. Conclusions, Once the research process is completed, it is very important to know the advantages that Google tools offer us to continue with the learning process, in the educational field it is very effective since documents can be created and edited, forms can be created, have access control for the information that is stored in the cloud.

In this life zone of moist forests from western Ecuador; were captured 2,391 specimens, grouped into 16 orders. This work is a contribution to the knowledge of the arthropofauna in moist forest of Ecuador. Here we describe new assessment areas for biodiversity studies at the western slope of the Andes. Chrysomélidae, a great defoliator family within the Coleóptera represents the most abundant between 175 families recorded from 20 experimental units. Diversity indices and paired t-test helped identify the most diverse experimental units (8, 10, 11, 12). Equity Pielou Index shows equal abundance of families in sample unit (9).

The policies that are committed to providing the elderly with well-being and quality of life tend to privilege attention to physical health and access to certain rights that are assumed as an alternative in the fulfillment of the social responsibility that is assumed with those who we they precede and have created the wealth that the later generation now enjoys. However, one of the aspects that are not prioritized are comprehensive actions to preventor overcome the cognitive deterioration thatis typicalofold age and thatdemands the prolongation of the stimulation of perception, attention and memory at this stage of life. The project "Usability and accessibility strategies of recreational technological tools to improve the cognitive capacity of the elderly in the Clemente Baquerizo and Camilo Ponce parishes of the Babahoyo canton" that is developed at the UTB in Ecuador, emphasizes this aspect and as part of the The study carried out presents key ideas that support the proposals that are being prepared for this purpose.
