Resumen
The present research was conducted with the aim of taking advantage and evaluating the cocoa mucilage and placenta (Theobroma cacao L) in the formulation of a non-alcoholic beverage in combination with yellow fruits, pineapple (Ananas comosus), and mango (Mangifera indica). Physical-chemical analyses were carried out according to NTE INEN 2304:2017 to determine °Brix, pH, titratable acidity, sensory analysis attributes in consumers such as odour, colour, appearance, and consistency. A random design (AAC) was applied, with six treatments and three repetitions. We established the statistical differences between the means of the treatments with the Tukey test (P>0.05). The best formulation of the combination of non-alcohol beverages range with yellow fruits, pineapple (Ananas comosus) and mango (Mangifera indica) are T1 and T4 present preference in colour, smell, appearance, and consistency. The best cost/benefit ratio is T1, for every dollar invested returns 0.604 cents for a 1 L drink.

Resumen
Chlorophyll-a (Chl-a) is an indicator of phytoplankton biomass, which can be used to predict the presence of fish in the ocean. By predicting the Chl-a with sufficient time, this data can be used to better plan naval operations that combat illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing by increasing surveillance of the identified areas where the greatest fishing activity would take place. In this work, a new technique is proposed, based on the application of the discrete Fourier transform theory to develop multivariate spatial-temporal regression model, which considers physical and biogeochemical ocean variables to predict the presence of Chlorophyll-a around Galápagos Islands. This work considers open access data taken from the Copernicus space program, used in the European Union.

Resumen
Soil fertility can be determined through different processes, one of these is through the analysis of environmental DNA (eDNA) which allows identifying the genetic diversity found in said material, essential in the formation and maintenance of soil productivity. soil, this study is the first of its kind in the province of Loja, it was carried out by selecting 9 areas, in which 26 soil samples were collected, eDNA was measured and the number of microorganisms was estimated from of the amount of eDNA obtained. 35% of total soils (9) showed bacterial counts greater than 6.0 x 108 cells/g-soil, 15% (4) between 2.0 x 108 cells/g-soil (minimum bacterial counts required for the mineralization of organic compounds) and 6.0 x 108 cells/g-soil. However, the remaining 50% (13) had less than 2.0 x 108 cells/g-soil in these soils mineralization with organic nitrogen is extremely low, found in the Saraguro, Paltas and Catamayo cantons. This study is important because it identifies the bacterial counts of different soils and the need to incorporate microorganisms to improve yields, thanks to standardization, the technique can be applied to all the soils of the province and the country.

Resumen
Female entrepreneurship in marginal communities presents many obstacles to its growth, one of them is the digital divide due to lack of internet access and digital illiteracy. This study presents the testimony of a group of women entrepreneurs from a marginal community in Guayaquil - Ecuador, who start businesses to cover their basic needs. The methodology used was mixed, qualitative through the use of structured and in-depth interviews using the NVivo software, and quantitative trough a survey applying logistic regression in SPSS. The findings of this study demonstrate the digital illiteracy of women entrepreneurs from marginal communities, who require technological training to avoid difficulties when surfing the net, even more so in the current times when, due to the pandemic, most businesses apply digital strategies to stay in the market.

Resumen
The objective of this research was to evaluate the efficiency of a sequential batch reactor operating in the treatment of effluents from an ice cream producer. They implemented two times of 10 and 12 hours, an anaerobic, aerobic and anoxic operational sequence, and a cell retention time of 25 days. The physicochemical parameters measured were chemical total oxygen demand, ammoniacal nitrogen, nitrites, nitrates, orthophosphates, total phosphorus, pH and total alkalinity at the beginning, end of each phase and outlet of the reactor for each treatment evaluated. According to the results obtained, the percentages of COD removal were between 89.8 and 94.6% for 10 and 12 h, respectively, without statistically significant differences between the applied times. The SBR was efficient for the removal of the nutrients present in the industrial effluent, reaching a maximum removal of total nitrogen of 81.0% and total phosphorus of 51.0%.

Resumen
Cities are composed of images that fill us with senses, memories, and emotions to our sight, filled with memories according to the experience of the observer. With this idea, this research was carried out with the purpose of studying the new urban image perceived by the citizens of the rehabilitation of the central area of Portoviejo. A comparative analysis was performed before and after the earthquake to show the main components considered in the renovation of the public space. To do it, we employed mental maps and interviews; using qualitative techniques and interpretation of the perception of the population. Thus, a map was built-with the elements that characterize the new image of the city.

Resumen
There are many reflections and conclusions derived after the seismic event of April 16, 2016, an event that had a strong impact on the infrastructure of the so-called ground zero of the city of Portoviejo, in some cases reconfiguring its urban and mobility dynamics. The role of professionals is one of the aspects most questioned by the community after the damage suffered by buildings and other civil works, causing great economic and human losses. The objective of the research is to identify the seismic vulnerability to which infrastructures are exposed to earthquakes based on the experience with the 16-A earthquake, using a documentary (bibliographical) and field (survey) research methodology, applied to the actors of the construction sector. The results obtained show that the aforementioned sector, with all its implicit branches, requires constant training and updating of knowledge and modern construction techniques.

Hypoplasia of the ascending aorta is a rare variant of left ventricular outflow obstruction. Its presentation as an isolated pathology is unusual, as it is more frequently accompanied by other congenital malformations that make it a complex condition. We report the follow-up of a 25-year-old pregnant woman with a previous diagnosis of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy who was diagnosed with hypoplasia of the ascending aorta during gestation, accompanied by high aortic valve implantation, tetracuspid aorta and left ventricular hypertrophy. She was followed up and evaluated by electrocardiogram, echocardiogram and cardiac magnetic resonance. The objective was to present the satisfactory results of the interdisciplinary management and follow-up during pregnancy, delivery and puerperium of a high cardiovascular risk patient with hypoplasia of the ascending aorta.
