Malaria is a parasitic disease with a wide distribution in tropical and subtropical areas, endemic in more than 100 countries, caused by four species of plasmodia. It is a pathology present in areas with abundant Anopheles mosquitoes, so its prevalence is directly related to the socioeconomic and environmental conditions of the patients. As a disease capable of rapidly causing death, it must be considered a medical emergency. In this context, a male patient case is presented, who comes to the emergency service with a clinical picture which symptoms make us suspect a malaria outbreak. The early diagnosis of malaria by Plasmodium falciparum allowed an optimal approach to the patient a few days after the confirmatory test; and after the antimalarial treatment, it allowed a favorable evolution of the patient.

There are many protocols that vary according to the use of different materials for zirconium cementation. The purpose of this study is to see how different types of surface treatment can change zirconium adhesion. The advantages of using a good adhesive system and zirconium conditioning prior to cementation must be taken into account  as well as the different types of primers and bonding agents to provide greater longevity to the restorative treatment. Materials and Methods: For this work, a systematic search was carried out in the different bases as Pub-Med, Science Direct, Medline, Google Académico and virtual system of  Universidad Católica de Santiago De Guayaquil; in which were chosen 30 articles dating from 2006 to the present were chosen for this work, among them bibliographic review articles, in-vitro studies, meta-analysis and systematic review. Results:  Comparing the different types of mechanical and chemical treatments, the adhesion strength of the dental substrate to the zirconia ceramic drops to 0 when the zirconia is not previously treated. Conclusion: It is recommended to use the primer set and cement with 10MDP content of the same commercial brand to provide greater longevity to the treatment.

Multiresistant tuberculosis constitutes especially serious stages of the disease, due to the shortage of effective drugs to treat this group of patients. It is endemic worldwide, however the vast majority of cases are concentrated in countries with few resources in Asia, Africa and South America. Treatment contemplates the use of first and second line drugs, however it becomes difficult, it requires management with less effective alternative drugs and with less tolerance, requiring longer therapeutic regimens and extraordinarily reducing the chances of success. In this sense, we present the case of a woman who attends the health center in the city of Guayaquil-Ecuador due to control for a productive cough, odynophagia, nasal congestion, diaphoresis and general malaise, a history of tuberculosis, corroborating multiresistant TB through a MTB real-time PCR test, with a sputum sample, determining medium resistance to RIFAMPICIN, opting for the use of other antibiotics such as amikacin, pyrazinamide, clofazimine, ethambutol, favorable evolution with discharge after 9 months of treatment.

The essay addresses the processes of deep configuration of the “Ladina” American culture from the perspective of a sociology of myths and archetypes. Three of which are collated through a / leitmotiv of the meaning return to the land, a problem examined through the rather than millenary topic of displacement. José Carlos Mariátegui who guides the inquiry with a famous phrase from his “Seven Essays”: “Through the universal, ecumenical paths, which are so much reproached, we are getting closer and closer to ourselves;” that of the Inca Garcilaso de la Vega with his deed of appropriating in a first phase of his life the world of his Spanish father and in the second part unveiling the world of his Inca mother and finally, Orlando Fals Borda in his epic for transferring a Universal knowledge for the benefit of an understanding of the local worlds of life. Mexico possess a system of Intercultural Universities built “from the top” (of the government) that after ten years of implementation presents important limitations derived from the hegemonic state indigenism. As an alternative, education experiences have emerged  “ from below” ( from the indigenism people) to build a counterhegemonic and autonomous  higher education , closer to the local necessities, however financing and legality of these process put them in a juncture that mark their relations (conflict- business) with the government. This dispute scenario becomes even more complex when the territories where this projects take place are conflict scenarios between the government, political parties, local guerrillas, drug trafficking and different forms of the own local community justice, as it is in the Guerrero area in Mexico.  In this context, this document: I) show us the way the dispute has been increase in relation to the reason and the duty of the Intercultural Higher Education, in Guerrero.  II) It places as a variable, the relation of the experiences with the local violence context and, III) it shows the lack of dichotomy “from the top” vs, “from below”, all of this considering the creation and development of two local intercultural universities.

Each indigenous people in each Latin American country has its own sociocultural and historical characteristics that have developed in a specific local space, therefore each town is different. However they all share something in common, the fact that they are named “Indians” and they are identified as the opposite of something called “modern”. On the other hand, in recent decades we have seen a dynamism and a transformation among these inhabitants that suggest a rethinking of these ideas.  In this article, I will describe and address the relationship that exists between indigenous groups and the idea of “modernity” and also how they have developed in their recent historical trajectory on this issue considering the socio-historical development that the Amuzgo people have lived in Xochistlahuaca located in the region of the Costa Chica in the State of Guerrero in Mexico.

This article proposes a review of the Renaissance utopias from their urban approaches and their architectural proposals based on a specific analysis. Although the utopias pretend not to take place, that is, they lack precise location, spaces and architectural forms are revealed by the authors and their respective books. In the first part we will underline the link that exists between the encounter Europe and America with the future production of utopias. In the second part, we will present the profile of four great Renaissance authors (Moro, Campanella, de Andreae and Bacon) with a commentary on their explicitly utopian literary works. Here we propose a critical vision of utopias based on their main urban and architectural characteristics, where we try to show how meanings, limits or contradictions are revealed in each of them in relation to the treatment of space.
