Resumen
Aim: This study analyzed the recruitment and selection practices in small- and medium-sized (SME) hotels in the city of Villavicencio. Method: This was descriptive study wherein affiliated SMEs, mostly COTELCO, were taken as sample for analysis. A “staff recruitment and selection” questionnaire was used as an instrument, which was created by the GYDO Mp02 research group from Universidad de los Llanos. Results: The study results revealed that external recruitment is predominant aspect and voice communication is the most frequent technique used to inform about job searches. In the staff selection, interviews stand out, and skills and experience are the key factors in decision-making. Discussions: This study also examined whether the size of the hotels is related to their economic capacities, and vital efforts to meet their goals was evidenced. Conclusions: This study concluded that the city’s SME hotels have a clear tendency of not giving the necessary importance to the recruitment process, and informality and lack of resources for the proper execution of the recruitment process evidenced several situations that prevent such hotels from attracting candidates suitable for different positions.

Resumen
Purpose: To analyze the contribution of non-banking correspondents (NBC) to financial inclusion (FI), considering different dimensions. Method: Analytical-observational research using the methodology of surveys and interviews applied to both users and NBCs in a rural population. Results: The main findings showed that the financial services offered by the NCBs reflect few characteristics of access, although they externalize liquidity risks; they reflect a limited use by the target population, especially because of the lack of trust and transaction costs. Discussions: It is not entirely clear that the strategy of the NCBs is the only one that should be promoted to obtain greater FI of the neglected population. However, they are being used mostly as collectors of payments made to public and private companies. Conclusions: The most used services in the NBCs do not imply the inclusion of the neglected population. Services such as the opening of basic accounts, deposits, and related withdrawals are subject to fees that must be paid by users and that do not differ from the fees for services in traditional banking channels.

Resumen
In this review paper, we first address the communities, the elements that constitute them, their features, the types of communities, communities of practice (CoP), and their backgrounds. Subsequently, is followed by an approach to the concept of CoPs, followed by a definition and a model proposed to guide the document to the outcome according to the literature review. Next, the guidelines for design, implementation, and lifecycle are drawn and the factors that condition success, the components, and the role of the moderator-driving individual are identified. Finally, pertinent conclusions are outlined.

Resumen
Aim: This study investigated the progress in the training of human resources for science, technology, and innovation activities in the Colombian industrial sector over the past 10 years. Methods: It employed a mixed methodological design wherein the qualitative approach was based on the documentary review of the National Policy on Science, Technology, and Innovation and the quantitative analysis focused on the bivariate analysis of the results of the Survey on Technological Development and Innovation for 2009 and 2018. Results: The study results revealed greater participation of doctors and people with certified skills in science, technology, and innovation activities; however, a decrease in the participation of human resources with primary and secondary school qualifications and of SENA qualified workers was observed. Discussions: The study suggested that due to the ineffectiveness of the National Policy on Science, Technology, and Innovation, except from the human resources with the postgraduate level qualifications, the participation of human resources with primary, secondary, and higher school level qualifications and with certified skills has decreased in the science, technology, and innovation activities. Conclusions: The study findings highlighted the need to implement the follow-up mechanisms to encourage the participation of human resources at all levels of training in science and technology activities that will facilitate greater development in innovation within the Colombian industrial sector.

Resumen
Aim: This study characterized teleworking through a psychosocial perspective by considering the opinions of government officials, employers, and teleworkers. Methods: The proposed research met the criteria of a qualitative descriptive study with nine in-depth interviews in the three abovementioned social groups (three participants from each social group) that have an impact on teleworking. Discourse analysis by maps of association of ideas was employed as an information analysis technique. Results: The study results suggested that the meaning and value that the workers assign to organizing their work, social interactions, routines, and the use of objects and positioning is unknown to the policy makers. Moreover, the discourses of the government and the employer are similar, and therefore, a time of psychosocial narrative is consolidated; the second psychosocial time is developed by the discourse of the teleworker. Discussions: In the first psychosocial time, teleworking means an opportunity to help workers regarding their quality of life and productivity. In the second psychosocial time, teleworking means a different way of working in which individuals occupy a physical space as workers, but they are actually in a virtual space that allows to give work a meaning other than the traditional one. Conclusions: The study concluded that teleworking is perceived by the government as an opportunity to improve employability indicators and give access to people with special abilities to the market; for employers, it is a mechanism for increasing flexibility that would help them with cost reduction, and for workers, it involves freedom and work flexibility.

Resumen
Objective: This study aimed to identify whether small and medium sized textile companies (SMEs), located in the Department of Atlántico, Colombia, currently carry out Eco-efficiency practices for the control of waste, contaminating residues, among other aspects. Method: A descriptive type of research was used, with a quantitative approach and a non-experimental field design, in which a closed survey was applied, directed at a sample of 53 companies. Results and discussion: Among the main findings, it was found that 56% of the participating SMEs do not take actions to reduce the volume or hazardousness of their waste, since they do not consider it important or profitable. Therefore, these processes are not eco efficient and the commitment to environmental preservation and sustainability of the SMEs under study is insufficient. Conclusions: Given that the textile sector is one of the resources with the lowest rate of reuse in the world, it is fundamental that this link with the processes of sustainable management and eco efficiency be clear and constant, aiming at an internalization of the processes of social responsibility, relying on the State, families, people and laws for their constant evolution and development.

Resumen
Purpose: To analyze the social representations produced by directors and employees during training process. Method: Qualitative research involving the administration of surveys to 18 human talent directors and 33 workers in different economic sectors in the City of Medellin. To create the representations, the associative card was used to identify the characteristics of the training. Results: The directors’representation of training is that it is a strategy used to align employees and enhance the skills that add value to the company. The workers’ representation of training is related to the knowledge received and sense of security in their value to the company upon the training session. Discussion: It is not easy to establish a causal relationship between training and individual performance, as suggested by literature on human resources, because the companies that offer training only assess perception and learning but fail to evaluate the application of knowledge and training results in terms of performance. Conclusions: Workers and directors share such representation, i.e., the causal relationship between training and performance. Moreover, the mere existence of training is considered proof that companies care for their employees.
