The present article proposes to bring to the margin which psychiatric institutions were founded until the year 1950 in the State of Rio Grande do Sul (RS), and which researches produced by historians of formation on these institutions. We seek to carry out this analysis through two parts: the first on the historiographical references about the Hospital Psiquiátrico São Pedro (HPSP) and its formation; and the second part regarding the existing academic research on psychiatric institutions created after the HPSP, revealing, in part, the developments of Psychiatric History in RS

 We are interested in the bodies during the processes of initial formation in physical education. How they are presented, observed and understood in these experiences, taking into account the discursive practices that occur (specific didactics) and the body knowledge that is produced. Intention that responds to the need of unravelling the discursive and power effects on the bodies that, despite the criticisms of immobility, the lack of focus and coherence between theory and practice (Cebreiro, 1995) are still perpetuated.

In this article, we study Georgina Martins work The boy who played at being (2000), investigating how gender, body and identity are addressed in the universe of children’s literature. The analysis emphasizes the playfulness of being from the character Dudu, who has an unconventional taste for copy by imitating characters from fair tales – usually of the opposite sex. A situation that accentuated problems of male-female borders and highlighted the potential of the imaginary in the production of new subjectivities.

The article aims to analyze the actions of normalization of daily life and the practices of the population of Jacobina between 1955 and 1959, clipping in which the city went through a process of modernization and reconfiguration of the urban landscape. From the intersection of sources such as journalistic texts and municipal administrative documents, we sought to analyze the daily pulse of the streets and institutions, the performance of power devices in the city and the daily practices, which produced another urban scenario, the reverse of order.

The rock and counterculture youth bodies became leading figures in the years post WWII. They reached that position in despite of all the coercion and censorship methods implemented by the disciplinary techniques and civilizing processes of the modern western society. Our article aims to discuss that process, verifying how general behavior, including movements and gestures, as well as ideas and representations of rock, constituted an ideal path to release accumulated social tensions.

The ethnographic research presented here was carried out at the Leonardo Villas Bôas Polo-Base - Xingu Indigenous Land. It was concluded that, in addition to the difficulties encountered by health professionals responsible for primary health care, which seem to be inherent to the very model structured in indigenous areas by DSEI-Xingu and the subsidiary IPEAX, there are others difficulties, such as the lack of training/qualification of professionals to deal with other systems of thought, or with practices of antagonistic semantic horizons in contexts of intermedicality.

This article reviews the conceptual constraints that weigh on multiculturalism and interculturality, in general, as forms of pluralism that manifest themselves from the cultural diversity observed in the cultural processes of contemporary reality. Interculturality is analyzed, based on diversity, understood as a cognitive scenario where intercultural conflicts are arbitrated. Be part of the multiculturalism approach to understand how the diversities are dynamized from their social and political connotations, and then reach interculturality, as another approach but now of cultural interaction and dialogue that tries to overcome the schematic view of the multiple condition of societies, to move to a situation of construction of intercultural processes as forms of encounters and disputes for inclusion. To analyze these processes, three major fields of intercultural reflection are indicated: the philosophical, the model and the dialogical, which situates the concept as part of a transversal perspective that can address different cultural problems and, at the same time, proposes interculturality as a field of study of such importance for the understanding of current realities from that point of view. Finally, we try to conceptualize the body to point out its commitment as an emergent cultural process, which is built on the conflict and collects the difference in the coexistence between cultures. The importance of multiculturalism and interculturality in the analysis of cultural diversity, social inclusion, and collective identities is enhanced in order to make them visible in the body as an authentic material and symbolic intercultural creator, the place of the intersection of flows, tensions and contradictions of the intercultural process, always precarious.
