Resumen
Objective: to reflect on the potential of the Theory of Recognition for the professional practice of rehabilitation nurses.
Method: reflective theoretical study based on the framework of Axel Honneth and the specific skills of rehabilitation nurses.
Results: two analysis topics emerged - the theoretical framework of Axel Hornet; and the contribution of Axel Honneth's theoretical framework to the professional practice of rehabilitation nurses.
Discussion: the support of professional practice in theoretical frameworks has been deeply defended in the last decade, and in this context, Axel Honneth makes a significant contribution to the intentional and systematic performance of the rehabilitation nurse.
Conclusion: during the rehabilitation process, in addition to the importance of recognizing the person, it was clear that in the context of the therapeutic relationship, the rehabilitation nurse must attend to the three pillars presented by Honneth, love, right and solidarity, so that the person be completely respected.

Resumen
EDITORIAL

Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant global impact on health and socioeconomic status. At the same time, it has caused an overload on health systems and their professionals, including rehabilitation nurses. The real expression of this impact at the level of rehabilitation nurses is unknown.
Objective: To assess the impact of the COVID19 pandemic on Portuguese rehabilitation nurses.
Method: Observational, descriptive and cross-sectional study, with a non-probabilistic sample of Portuguese rehabilitation nurses who performed functions in any type of service in the three months prior to data collection. Data collection took place at the beginning of the third quarter of 2020 through an online questionnaire provided by email.
Results: Sample consisting of 146 nurses specialized in Rehabilitation Nursing (EEER), of which 31% (n = 45) had to cease providing specialized care during the pandemic (increase of 2.7x). Regarding satisfaction with the quality of care provided, the average before the start of the pandemic was 3.95 (SD ± 0.75) and during the pandemic it dropped to 2.9 (SD ± 1.11) (scale of 5-point Likert). Of the participants. 73.3% (n = 107) refer that they had, at some point, to follow institutional guidelines in disagreement with their ethical and deontological principles, with 69.9% (n = 102) reporting having had a need, at least a situation, to prioritize which sick people to care for. During the pandemic, the EEER relied on expert colleagues and online resources to increase knowledge and skills regarding the care inherent in the pandemic.
Conclusion: During the first pandemic peak by COVID 19, a significant part of the EEERs had to ensure only general care. The main challenges faced by EEER were in the field of organization and management of care due to the greater complexity of patients, the greater bureaucratic burden, changes in the relationship with co-workers and the need to balance professional and personal life. There was a decrease in satisfaction with the quality of care provided, as well as a high percentage of EEER who experienced ethical and deontological challenges. In order to ensure their continuous training and to update their skills and guarantee the quality and safety of nursing care, the EEERs have shown dynamism and a willingness to use information and communication technologies.

Resumen
Introduction: Pulmonary Rehabilitation (PR) is a central component in the non-pharmacological treatment of COPD. One of the primary elements of PR is exercise training. However, little is known about the effectiveness of conducting these programs by nurses.
Objectives: Identify the impact of an PR program, prescribed by nurses, on the capacity for self-care of the person with COPD.
Methods: Systematic literature review until February 4, 2019, using MEDLINE, EMBASE, Web of Science Core Collection, Scopus, and CINAHL.
Results: The systematic literature review included 1 article which showed that people undergoing PR programmes, supervised by nurses, revealed a decrease in fatigue levels, an improvement in their life quality and in the daily routine tasks/activities execution.
Conclusion: This review allowed to identify that nurse-led interventions has positive impact over fatigue, health related quality of life and in daily living activity performance of COPD patients.

Resumen
Introduction: Early mobilization in critical patients as been considered as an intervention capable of decreasing morbidity risk factors and functional decline.
Objectives: Evaluate safety of a rehabilitation program in a Portuguese Intensive care unit (ICU); evaluate if it has an early beginning; evaluate if critical patients did the sit/stand-up position early and identify the strength gains.
Methods: A quantitative descriptive study was performed. The data was analysed with Microsoft Excel and Tableau 10.1 software. The sample was composed of 146 critical patients of both genders, submitted to 800 sessions of a rehabilitation program.
Results: The average age of the patients was situated at 63,9 years with an average hospitalization length of 20,6 days; 7,25% experienced adverse events and 8,5% suffered motor complications; 56,62% started the rehabilitation program in the first 72 hours; 25% of the rehabilitation sessions resulted in sit/stand-up position and average strength gains from 0,364 strength degrees, for the lowest performing group analysed, to a maximum of 2,6 strength degrees in the group that revealed the best results.
Conclusion: The results revealed an early and safe implementation of the rehabilitation program, resulting in health gains to critical patients. However, data relative to the timing of the fulfilment of the sit/stand-up position in critically ill patients is inconclusive.

Resumen
Background: The triage process contributes to early stroke treatment, reducing mortality and disability.
Objective: To analyze nurses' difficulties in triage and activating the Code Stroke protocol.
Method: Descriptive and cross-sectional study. The data were collected, by convenience sampling, in an emergency medical-surgical service through a questionnaire.
Results: The sample included 21 nurses (39.7±7.4 years), mostly women (71.4%). In terms of professional experience, the working time in emergency department was 9.5 (±6.2 years). The verbal and physical violence of patients and family members was the most mentioned difficulty regarding triage. About 29% partially and 19% fully agree that inadequate information about two symptoms at the time of onset constitutes a difficulty in activating the Code Stroke.
Conclusion: Triage and the Stroke Code protocol are considered facilitators of care, with sporadic difficulties in some phases of the process.
