Resumen
The purpose of this paper is primarily to analyze the effect of the mandatory implementation of IFRS in Peru on the accounting quality and subsequently, corporate governance (since transparency and comparibility in financial reporting and disclosure practice are primecorporate governance mechanisms to reduce the information asymmetry), and secondarily, to review the evolution of corporate governance and to suggest ways to improve the corporate governance situation in Peru. In order to reach those purposes, both primary andsecondary data were analyzed. Primary data were gathered through interviews to relevant stakeholders and surveys to non-financial listed companies. Secondary data were obtained from government official sources as well as databases like Osiris and Thomson.In order to complement the analysis of the impact of the mandatory adoption of IFRS, two studies were reviewed: earnings management and value relevance. The most important conclusion from this research is that the implementation of the IFRS has helped to improvethe quality of the accounting data and consequently, corporate governance, since before the adoption of the IFRS a not-well defined set of accounting standards was applied in Peru (a combination of tax rules and US GAAPs). Although a number of mechanisms have been implemented to improve the corporate governance in Peru, the situation is still incipient, a number of proposals are advanced,including the mandatory compliance of listed companies with the¨“Code of Good Corporate Governance for Peruvian Companies” and the corresponding penalties in case of no adherence to the principles.

Resumen
The main characteristic of great leaders is their ability to perceive the depth of their inner world and interact with the surrounding universe. In terms of this characteristic, in Peru there are two historic figures that stand out: Luis Bedoya Reyes and Víctor Raúl Haya de la Torre. These two men possessed higher levels of consciousness. There are 11 different levels of consciousness, considered as permanent features, and which are classified according to the spectrum of colors, from infrared to clear light. Peruvian politics is at low levels of consciousness, and conscious leadership can be a very effective, advantageous, and practical means to reach higher levels of consciousness, both in the field of politics, as well as in companies and organizations of all kinds.

Resumen
The role of Hipolito Unanue in shaping the new Republic of Peru was important. He headed the Ministry of Finance for two non-consecutive periods. In the first one he dispatched almost two years, between August 1821 and June 1823, while in the second one, he worked between September 1823 and February 1824. In September 1822 he presented a report to the Constituent Congress. In it, he gives an account of the various dispositions that he dictated in order to face the income deficit that the so-called fiscal box was facing. His conservative initiatives to achieve a fiscal balance are recognized today.

Modern management shows that one of the foundations on which organizational results rest is people, and everything that surrounds them within a group: values, mission, vision, organizational culture, ethics, etc. Under this logic, for companies, it becomes imperative that their human resources, as a whole, develop all the potential they have, in a favorable and ideal environment, for the achievement of the objectives that the organization sets; but it is even more important that these people get to know each other internally, so that, through the so-called “soft skills”, they facilitate this achievement of objectives. This essay focuses on these issues, combining theoretical arguments on emotions, with proposals based on actual professional work experience.
