Since a case of thymic cyst has been observed, its clinic, radiologic and histopathologic elements are briefly summarized. The small number of cases of this disease is emphasized; a possible embriologic origin is synthetized and the necessary elements to perform a diagnosis of the case of true thymic cyst are exposed.

Background: Biliary lithiasis is a high prevalence disease among general population being one of the most common surgical cause to attend to ambulatory appointment or to the emergency room. Due to the disease high prevalence and the potential complications,  treatment is indicated. The best treatment option is still a matter of debate, admitting either surgical, endoscopic or percutaneous treatment. The aim of this series was to present the surgical management of choledocholithiasis, either as symptomatic presentations or as an incidental finding during intraoperative colangiography, at Surgical Clinic 2, Maciel Hospital. Methods: An electronic search was done among all colecistectomie's records between January 1st and October 7th, 2018, selecting those with choledocholithiasis confirmed by intraoperative cholangiography. Results: 115 colecystectomy were done in the time period previously mentioned, 113 patients had laparoscopic colecistectomies and 2 patients had open conversions, choledocholitiasis was confirmed in 20 cases. Stone clearance was done with Dormia basket, angioplasty balloon catheter, Randall stone forceps and flushing with saline, it was successful in 18 cases. Discussion: Either transcistic or choledochotomy approach allowed to solve the disease in one surgical act. Intraoperative cholangiography was successful in 80% of cases and lithiasis extraction was complete in 90% of cases, no difference with previous published works found. Conclusions: Transcystic or choledochotomy approach is a safe and effective treatment

Mesenchymal tumors account for 1% of primary malignant gastrointestinal tumors. The most frequent location is the stomach and their average size is a few centimeters at diagnosis. We present the case of a 79-year-old male who was admitted for sudden dyspnea. He was diagnosed with pulmonary thromboembolism (PTE) and treated with anticoagulants. The tomography showed a mass compatible with a gastrointestinal stromal tumor of 18 centimeters dependent on the gastric anterior face. During admission, the patient experiences hypotension and sudden anemization. The tomography was repeated, showing an increase in size secondary to intratumoral hemorrhage, indicating urgent surgery.

Itussusception is a rare cause of intestinal occlusion in adults. The clinical case of this condition in an older adult is presented. In this case, computed tomography (CT) identified intussusception and the treatment was an intestinal resection. Pathological anatomy provided the definitive diagnosis. The most frequent etiology of the obstruction corresponds to malignant organic lesions at the level of the colon, and benign in the small intestine. Preoperative diagnosis has now increased, thanks to the advancement of imaging tests. Intestinal resection continues to be the treatment in most cases, due to the high percentage of malignant pathology as the underlying cause.
