Introduction. Numerous studies prove the importance of emotional intelligence in promoting emotional regulation, self-knowledge, empathy and the ability to develop strong social relationships. Some of them highlight the fundamental role of emotional vocabulary, being the good development of this a key factor to name, interpret and regulate our emotions correctly.
Method. This study focused on knowing the differences in written expression of short-term emotional vocabulary according to age and gender, in a sample of high school students between 12 and 16 years old, with a total of 442 participants, belonging to the region of Lleida, Spain.
Results. The results showed that there was a significant increase in the number of negative words as age increased, as well as a significant decrease in ambiguous words. Differences were also detected in the expression of emotions according to gender, with girls reporting a greater number of both positive and negative words.
Discussion and Conclusion. In conclusion, this study proves that there are differences in the expression of emotional vocabulary according to the age and gender of students.

Resumen
The objective of this paper is to analyze the epistemological bases of the Juche ideology as the axis of the foreign policy of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to achieve international autonomy. This theoretical-practical proposal has unique characteristics and emerges as an alternative to the knowledge produced from the West. It was established in a period dominated by the Cold War bipolar logic and gave support to the regime of Kim Il Sung, becoming today the main axis of foreign policy. We will approach how the idea of international autonomy is stressed by the notion of power and domination in the terms of Michel Foucault, addressing the development of this ideology, the main aspects of Juche and its implications for international studies.

Resumen
Japan has been a proactive contributor to development cooperation, ranking among the top five OECD donors worldwide. Latin America and the Caribbean have been traditional recipients of Japan’s ODA due to their long-standing relationship. However, the U.S. interests, and recently, the rise of China, have influenced Japan’s aid to the region. This paper aims to study how the influence of foreign interests, especially those of the U.S., and the rise of China as a nontraditional donor has challenged Japan’s ODA to Latin America and the Caribbean during the 21st century. Since this is hermeneutical research, the analyzed documents were selected based on impact criteria, and the contents were grouped following a chronological evolution. The findings unveil that even though Japan’s ODA has been influenced, at some periods, by pre-established U.S. guidelines, in other cases, it has relied on different reinterpretations to those suggested by the U.S. This dynamic turns into a set of ideas and concepts that, despite seeming unrelated, have Japan’s national interests as the fundamental principle and translate into diverse strategies of Japan’s ODA to the region. Japan’s approaches to global and regional contexts bring a strategic debate on how the elements that characterize its ODA were adapted to the needs in the period under study. This debate is still unfolding and allows Japan’s ODA not to lose its identity. Thus, even though China has taken the lead in some developmental initiatives in Latin America and the Caribbean, the core elements of Japan’s ODA remain valid.

The explanations on the determinants of democratic attitudes often assume that people have prior experiences with democratic regimes. Haiti has been historically characterized by political, social and economic instability, even after the process of democratic transition that began in 1986 and despite the continuous foreign interventions and humanitarian aid. Based on LAPOP poll results between 2006 and 2017, we test three hypotheses that the evaluation of the regime performance, trust in government institutions and the economic assessment significantly affect the presence of democratic attitudes in three dimensions, preference for a democratic regime, justification of the closing of the legislature by the executive and political tolerance, differently in Haiti than elsewhere in Latin America. With Ordinary Least Square (OLS) models, we find that the determinants of democratic attitudes show some particularities for the case of Haiti, but also for other countries in the region.

Resumen
The article analyses the preference formation of Brazilian legislators in the deliberation of international agreements, through a case study about the Protocol of Accession of Venezuela to Mercosur. We hypothesize that the motivation of Brazilian congresspeople (and of the government itself) are based on immediate interests rather than long term ones. The aim is to contribute with the debate about the role of the National Congress in the decision-making process of foreign policy, verifying that the Legislative seeks to have larger participation in this topic, as an instrument to redistribute the powers at the domestic level.

The Malvinas Islands in the Argentine defense policy: from relative relevance to strategic relevance
Magnani, Ezequiel

Resumen
The place that the Argentine sovereignty claim over the Malvinas, South Georgia, South Sandwich Islands and their adjacent maritime territories has in defense policy of Argentina has not been studied by defense studies of that country. This article takes up the main theoretical contributions of the literature on defense linked to the strategic and international dimension and establishes as a central argument that only since 2019 the "Malvinas Question" has been a factor that strongly influenced the planning and design of the country's national defense. After carrying out an empirical analysis on indicators linked to military doctrine, strategic planning, and military deployment; The work concludes that after the Malvinas War, only from 2019 it is possible to observe a concrete change in the Argentine defense policy regarding the inclusion of the concern for the sovereignty of the Malvinas Islands.

Resumen
Informed by qualitative evidence obtained from interviews with Moroccan farm workers in Italy, the article argues that the itineraries and the process of legalization of immigrants show that the agricultural sector can be conceived as a “Refuge Sector”. As it stands, the agricultural sector is where migrants can find a job and stabilize their situation in order to calculate their possibilities to obtain a legal status. Also, the results show that the type of permits owned by migrants do not reflect their legal situations but are the product of an opportunity they have been able to catch.
