Resumen
An unusual fish die-off occurred during a bloom of diatoms from June 10th July 3rd 2006 in Bahía de La Paz in the Gulf of California. The prevalent organisms were Pseudo-nitzschia spp. (2.4 × 106 cells L1), Thalassiosira eccentrica (2.3 × 106 cells L1) and Chaetoceros spp. (9.65 x 105 cells L1). Three toxic species were identified: P. pseudodelicatissima-complex, P. fraudulenta, and P. pungens. Fucoxanthin was the dominant pigment during the bloom, peaking at 9.3 ?g L1. Sea surface temperature dramatically increased from 19.0 °C to 27.0 °C during the bloom, with inorganic nitrogen (1.0 ± 0.6 ?M) and Si(OH)4 (15.5 ± 8.0 ?M). Low content of domoic acid measured by HPLC-UV from net samples ranged from 24.0 to 52.0 ng per filter and tissue of the chocolate clam Megapitaria squalida (0.55 ?g g1) and the white clam Dosinia ponderosa (0.06 ?g g1). Domoic acid analysis of dead fish tissues was negative. Fish necropsy indicated that death by asphyxia was probably caused by Thalassiosira eccentrica and Chaetoceros spp. Alternate mixing processes and instability of the water column, as well as sudden changes of both temperature and nutrients created conditions for proliferation of the diatoms.

Resumen
ABSTRACT The emergence of the Digital Humanities in Latin America and the Caribbean has given place to a heterogeneous set of objects that articulate different academic and cultural heritages, and that are being gradually incorporated into the curricula. Although preexisting practices can be identified, it is worth highlighting how, since 2011, different associations began to shape the field using Spanish and Portuguese as their academic language. This article is an exploration of the associative behavior of the Digital Humanities, mainly in Latin America and the Caribbean, taking into account some experiences with communities of the Iberian Peninsula. It also reflects on the variables that would strengthen the field, such as the culture and value of the communal, the open, the commons, and the use of a vernacular language for communicating science. Keywords: Digital Humanities; Associations; Community of Practice; Commons; Scientific Language.

Resumen
The installation of any type of stomatological prosthesis, necessarily produces changes in the oral environment, which force him to react to adapt to the new situation. Among the nonphysiological modifications that may appear is the subprosthesis stomatitis. This work was carried out in order to determine possible association of some risk factors with the appearance of stomatitis subprosthesis in patients aged 35-44 years admitted to the primary care service of the Stomatology Clinic, during the first semester of 2017. He carried out an analytical study of cases and controls. A sample of 66 patients was used; in the group cases with 22 and the control group with 44, all met the inclusion criteria. In the patients studied, predominance was observed in the case group of patients with misaligned prostheses (86.4%) and in the controls (95.5%) of patients with adjusted prostheses. It is concluded that the morbidity was mainly related to the mismatch of the prosthesis and to the improper use and without rest of the prosthetic device.

Resumen
Dental retention is one of the main pathological entities that daily come to stomatological services. In principle the treatment of the same is the surgical exeresis, without forgetting the idea that all teeth included with aesthetic and functional value should be assessed the possibility of being placed in the dental arch, which is only possible with the help of specialties such as orthodontics and maxillo facial surgery. We present the case of a 10-year-old patient with a retained upper right incisor, who received multidisciplinary treatment for orthodontics, maxillo facial surgery, periodontology and E.G.I, finally obtaining magnificent results.

Astrocytomas are brain tumors with a high frequency of occurrence. A non-experimental study with descriptive and analytical component was carried out, with the objective of determining the predictive value of tomographic variables in the diagnosis of cerebral astrocytomas in 52 patients with tomographic diagnosis of cerebral neoplasia confirmed by Computed Axial Tomography (CT) of the skull treated at the Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Bayamo Hospital in the period from January 2017 to December 2018. In the present study we found that the region most frequently affected by astrocytomas was the frontoparietal followed by the frontal and temporal region. The tomographic study diagnosed 23 patients with the diagnosis of astrocytomas and 29 as non-astrocytomas, high sensitivity and specificity were found, as well as high positive and negative predictive values. As for the tomographic variables evaluated, the low contrast enhancement and hypodensity had high sensitivity and specificity, as well as their predictive values of what turns out to be useful characteristics in the diagnosis. The validity index calculated both in the tomography and in the variables studied in a general sense brings high veracity.

Resumen
CT-guided fine needle aspiration biopsy has become the world standard as the most accurate starting point for the behavior and prognosis of lesions suggestive of lung cancer. An epidemiological, prospective, quasi-experimental, epidemiological intervention study was conducted in a cohort of 78 patients with lesions suggestive of lung cancer with the aim of evaluating the usefulness of BAAF guided by Computerized Axial Tomography in the histological diagnosis of lesions, suggestive of lung cancer in the Provincial Clinical Surgical Teaching "Celia Sánchez Manduley" of Manzanillo. We included 9 cases older than 80 years, 40% of the patients were between 50 and 64 years old, with a mean of 63.3. The right upper lobe presented 89% of the lesions. The average distance between the skin and the center of the tumor was 4.3 cm. The highest positivity was obtained in the right upper lobe with 82.5%. The histological diagnosis evidenced the presence of benign processes in 20.7% of the cases. Adenocarcinoma accounted for 51.3% followed by non-small cell carcinoma (21.8%). The relative risk of not being useful for diagnosis was higher in small lesions (4,3). Pneumothorax was presented as a complication in two patients. Fine needle aspiration biopsy guided by tomography in lung lesions is a safe procedure, with low complication rate, allowed to safely define the histological characteristics of lung lesions in most lung locations.
