Resumen
The cooperation process between university and industry is complex . It presents a set of factors that motivate and interfere building these relationships. The aim of this paper is to compare the main cooperation process’ motivations and barriers between university and industry in Brazil and Ireland. This is a study of multiple cases and configures itself as exploratory, with a qualitative approach . Data collection was executed by conducting a questionnaire with six technology transfer offices from Brazilian universities and three from Irish universities. The results show that the main motivations of Brazilian offices stem from financial issues and the possibility of being recognized whilst the Irish offices derived from social aspects. Regarding barriers, for the Brazilian offices these are mainly cultural and for the Irish offices the lack of entrepreneurial culture and the focus on basic science are the more common aspects, however, both experience excessive or rigid regulations.

Resumen
The FinTech industry includes crowdfunding companies, which consist of collaborative financing platforms. The potential use of crowdfunding among Chilean undergraduate students is empirically analyzed. An ordered probit model is used to test the determinants of the probability that a student will use a crowdfunding platform in the future. Also, a qualitative analysis containing arguments by which students would or would not use crowdfunding in the future is presented. The results indicate that trust in financial institutions and prior crowdfunding knowledge have a positive and significant effect on the probability of using these platforms. This paper constitutes one of the first to explore the growing crowdfunding market in Chile from the demand perspective.

Resumen
The goal of this study is to assess the relationships between the country’s regulatory institutions and the relational capability and performance of strategic clinical trials alliances. The country’s regulation is made up of a set of formal institutions, i. e. codified rules, which aim to determine social actors’ practices. Strategic alliances are long-term cooperative relationships voluntarily established between two or more autonomous companies with shared interests and goals to create competitive advantage. Clinical-trial strategic alliances are organized according to the contractual relationship and parties’ relational capabilities that aim to overcome difficulties in the partnership activities and ensure intercompany cooperation, reflecting on organizational efficiency and effectiveness, and impacting on alliance performance. This work developed a critical review of the literature and expanded it through the establishment of novel relational propositions regarding the relationship between formal regulatory institution of countries and strategic alliances for clinical trials of new medicines.

Resumen
The objective of this research is to identify the factors that affect the negotiation process of SMEs in trade shows, which represent one of the most important export promotion instruments. Semi-structured interviews were carried out with Peruvians who participated in negotiations. A conceptual model was developed, which integrates the various factors identified in the literature such as (1) background factors, (2) strategic factors, (3) cultural factors, (4) negotiator factors, and (5) psychological factors, in order to confirm their impact on the negotiation process. The results revealed factors that had not been previously considered in the literature, providing a valuable insight for a future study. This research seeks to maximize the effectiveness of negotiations at trade shows, which impact the performance and export activity of exhibiting firms, allowing better export promotion policies to be developed.

Resumen
The extraordinary growth of the information technology (IT) industry has had innovation as a key element, motivating research on innovation management. The objective of this study is to organize and analyse the literature on innovation management in the IT industry. Through a systematic mapping study (SMS), 7259 studies were obtained of which 76 studies were selected and classified. This SMS made it possible to structure the knowledge developed in categories: research topics, types of research, contribution, research methods and bibliometric characteristics. The studies were mostly focused on the operations, organizational context, and support for innovation. In addition, a greater number of philosophical articles were found. Among the most used research methods were surveys, interviews, case studies, and literature reviews. Also, the frequency of published articles shows an increasing trend, especially in recent years. Finally, This SMS provides information on spaces that are still pending to be investigated or amplified.

Resumen
The purpose of this article is analyse the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem of Guadalajara Jalisco, México (EEZMG) through its technology-based, fast growing startups and ‘entrepreneurial-employees’, their growth dynamics and interactions as well as to explore the factors that impact their growth, and discover the policies or programs that have the greatest effect on their development. Therefore, using as analytical framework the ‘Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Model’ proposed by Stam (2015) this research applied a mixed research method through in depth and semi structured interviews to entrepreneurs, key informants, and influencers. The study has confirmed the hypothesis of ‘entrepreneurial-employees’ and its ambition about job creation that previous research has predicted. Moreover, the study shows that both the ‘institutional framework’ and the ‘systemic conditions’ have created a ‘productive entrepreneurship’ promoting ‘value creation’ and furthermore, the entrepreneurs have capacities to develop, globalize and strengthen the ecosystem. After the conclusions, the study provides some implications for policy design and cumulative development of entrepreneurial ecosystems.

Resumen
This document aims to predict the level of innovation in manufacturing companies in Colombia between 2017-2018. A forecasting mechanism for innovation performance has been constructed using Neural Networks (NNs). This model considers the objectives of innovation, obstacles to innovation, knowledge networks, and technical information of each one of the firms. Results show that demand push, vertical sources, financial obstacles, and qualified personnel are the most important variables in predicting innovative performance. Our empirical analysis uses firm-level innovation survey data from the EDIT (Encuesta de Desarrollo e Innovación Tecnológica in Spanish, Technological Development, and Innovation Survey in English) for Colombia for the years 2017-2018.

Resumen
In this work, we explore the dynamics of microfoundations dimensions (individuals, processes and structures) of research organizations (ROs) in order to diagnose the challenges faced by researcher management in Brazilian ROs and improve cooperative actions. To this end, analytical variables were defined from the theoretical fields of management (people and microfoundations) and research-industry cooperation, and applied in three exploratory-descriptive case studies. The results show that the effectiveness of research-industry cooperation depends on paradigm shift and long-term actions, such as the implementation of a collaborative organizational culture and the prioritization of innovative governance. Furthermore, the development of these capacities is hampered by the low maturity of career development processes, structural and financial-budgetary constraints. This research contributes to theoretical development, establishing constructs from the ROs specificities and proposing initial relationships among the analytical variables structured. For practice, we highlight the organizational diagnosis and actions for a better cooperative performance of ROs.

Resumen
The research objectives were to develop the digital transformation process measurement model and to study the correlation structure between the digital transformation process and firm outcomes. The population consisted of 466 agriculture & food industry companies in Thailand. Data were collected by online questionnaire from an entrepreneur/chairman/executive of each company, and 224 responses were received. The data were analyzed by exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and path analysis. The results showed that the newly developed digital transformation process was consistent with the empirical data and this results in 3 steps of the digital technology operation process which are (1) the internet of things (2) big data (3) the platform business model. In addition, the digital transformation process had a statistically significant positive influence on firm outcomes. The digital transformation process could be a guideline for the digital transformation of the agriculture & food industry to be successful in the digital economy era.

Resumen
Growing recognition exists in developing countries that technology transfer from public research organisations to the private sector should be part of a long-term strategy that encourages a culture of innovation, technological learning, as well as stimulating the commercialisation of technological innovations. With the same aim as the Bayh-Dole Act (1980), almost twenty-eight years later, the South African government published the Intellectual Property Rights from Publicly Financed Research and Development (IPR-PFRD) Act (Act 51 of 2008). The rationale for the IPR-PFRD Act lies in the widely held view that a more frequent and faster rate of transfer of technologies developed in universities or public research organisations (PROs) to the private sector can significantly accelerate national or regional technological innovation. In this regard, the IPR-PFRD Act explicitly requires designated institutions to establish a TTO. However, even prior to the IPR-PFRD Act, some institutions established TTOs, while some institutions established TTOs after the IPR-PFRD Act was enabled. This study, amongst other aspects, provides overview of the TTO models used in South Africa and investigates the successes of TTOs at universities and PROs, emphasising the nature of their activities and their performance after the introduction of the Act in 2008.
