Resumen
Introduction: Vestibular dysfunction and anxiety disorders appear to be intimately related. The literature supports the high levels of anxiety in population with vertigo through the neurophysiologic link between the vestibular and limbic system. Objective: To describe the scientific researches that approached the anxiety disorders in population with vestibular dysfunction. Method: A review of articles was carried out in Pubmed, Chocrane and Science Direct databases. The selection of articles was based on the following inclusion criteria: published between 2000 and 2018, in English as original language and whose population presented confirmed vestibular dysfunction. Results: A total of 26 articles were included in the literature review. The information was reported through seven categories of analysis: anxiety disorders are the result of vestibular dysfunction, vestibular dysfunction does not trigger anxiety disorders, the course of anxiety in the vestibular rehabilitation, the need for interdisciplinary management of anxiety in the patient with vertigo, anxiety levels and their relationship with sex in patients with vestibular dysfunction, self-perception scales and levels of scientific evidence. Conclusions: Although most studies report that vestibular dysfunction causes anxiety disorders and are higher in women, there is heterogeneity in the reporting of results. It remains to explore in depth the causal relationship between these two conditions. However, the presence of anxiety symptoms in the course of vestibular dysfunction is convincing.

Resumen
Anxiety disorders and depression are the biggest problem of mental health in the world. It can be present by anyone, causing biological and psychological alterations that affect the activities of daily life.Method: Systematic review based on the search for ECAS that linked physical exercise as a therapeutic strategy for these disorders. A search was performed on the databases: Redalyc, PubMed, EBSCO host, Elsevier, PeDro, DialNet, Scielo and ATGC (Pubmed) with cut-off point March 2018. 136 articles were analyzed and evaluated with the CONSORT checklist creating 3 formatsof quantitative analysis, highlighting the incidence of depression and anxiety disorders in the age groups of youth, adulthood and older adulthood, identifying post-traumatic stress factors, occupational origin, drug dependence, mental disorders, diagnosed illnesses, age-based behaviors and gynecology. Results: Physical exercise performed in a structured way significantly decreases depressive symptoms(p≤ 0.001)evaluated on a number of scales including Beck Inventory, Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS), DASS-21 and BDI tests. The reduction in the level of anxiety, assessed with the HADS scale (p=10.0007) in all subgroups, highlighting the individualized prescription. Discussion:The positive effects of prescribed physical exercise are confirmed, on the symptoms of depression and anxiety of various populations, being effective and inexpensive, which opens the need to prioritize it and apply its principles to activities such as taichi and/or yoga to improve their effectiveness.

Resumen
Mental health a subject that has not had enough recognition, management, and prevention over the years, especially in work areas. Mental disorders can significantly affect the health of the workers, and therefore reduce labor productivity in a company. This review aims to learn about the evaluation tools and intervention strategies in mental health over Physical Therapy in work environments, from the review of the literature. Method:Systematic review type study, based on the search for scientific articles in the databases of Bireme, Medline, PubMed, ScienceDirect and SpringerLink; obtaining a final sample of 20 according to the fulfillment of all the inclusion criteria, which were subsequently analyzed in levels of evidence and degree of recommendation according to the Oxford methodology. Results:Of the 20 selected articles, 2 categories of analysis were identified from the objectives of the studies, 1) Interventions for mental health management and 2) Mental health assessment tools in work environments 3) Conceptualization in the subject. Discussion:The studies show positive results of mental health programs carried out through the promotion of the human body movement where diversity is evidenced, together with the fact that the evaluation tools are in line with the organizational culture context.

Resumen
Manual therapy is a physiotherapy area that uses techniques on muscle, bone, conjunctive and nervous tissues with therapeutic purposes, to favor physiological reactions that promote pain reduction. Objective: To describe, by reviewing the effects reported in the scientific literature, the techniques of myofascial release and dry needling in patients with fibromyalgia and myofascial pain syndrome. Method: A review of controlled clinical trials was made in terms of intervention, with myofascial release techniques and dry needling, in patients with a diagnosis of fibromyalgia and myofascial pain syndrome. Studies with participants with psychiatric and neurological disorders, or with participation in another type of treatment, were excluded. The inquiry was made in different databases: Pubmed, Elsevier, Ebscohost, Proquest, Pedro using DeCS terms. Results: The results analysis was made from clasifying the documents according to myofascial release techniques (massage, myofascial induction, manual or ischemic pressure) and dry needling. The effect measures vary according to the different intervention protocols, with a p value of <0.001 and 0.005. Discussion: It is demonstrated that both myofascial release and dry needling techniques, manage to reduce pain, improve range of motion and functionality mainly in patients with fibromyalgia and myofascial pain syndrome.

Physiotherapy in Mental Health (PMH) is a physiotherapy specialty that encompasses a high number of techniques directly applied to improve mental disorders. In European countries like Sweden, Norway, Belgium and England is a common fact to find physiotherapists working within mental health teams. This article shows the historical background of MHP to give to the physiotherapist a theoretical framework and to offer a starting point in order to create new experiences and/or clinical trials in this field. From the Ancient World there is evidence of the use of physical agents to treat mental disorders, but the most important historical background was originated in the XXth century. This comes from different fields of knowledge like body psychotherapy, philosophical traditions and expressive arts. Since 1950, physiotherapists have adapted this knowledge to the own practice to create the specialty in Physiotherapy in Mental Health.

Resumen
Physiotherapy in mental health care and psychiatry is recognized by the World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT) as a specialty within physiotherapy. Physiotherapy in mental health offers a wide range of interventions in regard of body functions, physical activity, exercises, sensory, body and movement awareness, stress and tense regulation and pain management, based on clinical and scientific evidence-based literature. Additionally, the promotion of a healthy lifestyle and “physio-education” (i.e. the process of providing education and information regarding specific physiotherapy related topics to patients and their family members) should be a responsibility of the physiotherapist. This paper gives a short overview of the interventions in the field of mental health to offer appropriate care to a specific vulnerable but growing group in our society.
