Resumen
El autor reflexiona sobre el debate que enfrenta y opone la Historia Local y Regional con la "nacional" y "universal", a partir de la experiencia historiográfica venezolana; sosteniendo ―al respecto― que tal oposición es falsa y carece de sustento, puesto que son complementarias, porque el Ser Humano es, en esencia, universal, y su acción en el tiempo y el espacio se manifiesta, como tal, en los planos concretos de la espacialidad y la temporalidad, adquiriendo aquél significatividad y explicabilidad en lo regional y local y éste, a su vez, sentido, en el contexto de la globalidad. Recurre a los contenidos de los números 176 (1992), 177 (1993-1995) y 178 (1996) de la Revista de Historia Canaria, editada por la Universidad de La Laguna en Tenerife (Islas Canarias-España).

Resumen
La expansión europea y particularmente el descubrimiento de América replanteó la concepción del mundo y del hombre que lo habitaba, con explicaciones propias de una etapa de transición de la Edad Media a la Edad Moderna y en la que la religión y la ciencia confluían y discrepaban. El autor explica dentro de ese contexto la apreciación que el descubridor Cristóbal Colón tuvo, a finales del siglo XV e inicios del XVI, de dos problemas de ciencia como la variación magnética y la inflexión de las líneas isotermas, y uno religioso referido a la situación del paraíso terrenal, aspectos que posteriormente fueron reinterpretados por el viajero y científico Alejandro de Humboldt a finales del siglo XVIII e inicios del XIX.

Resumen
In the present study the land appropriation process is analyzed in the jurisdiction of the Nueva Zamora of La Laguna de Maracaibo, between 1574-1720, in particular on the forms of allocation, comprehensive of the legal instruments and the authorities that they granted the property of the land, also the relation between the number of properties, owner and their location, the value with which the possessions were valued to cancel the real taxes and measure the properties. The investigation is based on the documentary review carried out on the visit made by the judge composer of the lands don Diego Manuel de Eguiázabal y Samaniego, carried out between 1716 and 1718. The applied analysis is of quantitative type and is aimed at determining, the authorities that they granted the property, number of properties, owners and the tax rates collected that were expressed in accordance with the estimated value of the possessions, whose indicators were tabulated and the results are shown.

Resumen
The events of the May 1968 are constantly taken up again for analysis by diff erent disciplines and by diff erent approaches of opinion, which shows the important historiography on this theme which seems to be increasing and transforming with each new anniversary decade: an emblematic period for many generations, as it was the sixties, and to its implications regarding the dynamics of the Cold War. From the Cultural History, in the present article we will show some representations that were generated from Venezuela around these events, following the revision of the articles of national opinion of the newspaper Últimas Noticias, during the months of May to December of 1968.
