Resumen
The history of the book becomes an open line of research that allows the approach of printed materials as cultural products, in this sense it is linked both to typographers and those who have generated their circulation on a global scale over time. Consequently, the study of printed works, the demand for a systematic analysis on the different forms of production, the diffusion and the destination of the copies; Emphasizing the significant role that travel has played since the 15th century. Therefore, for the Spanish-American context, critical double reading is imperative: the value of the European book and the importance of the displacements that make its circulation possible during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. In this work, we seek to recognize the aspects related to the passage from ancient times in Europe to Mérida and in the colonial period, in an attempt to place in the “cosmography of the book” possible cultural routes that made it feasible to form libraries in this part of the world.

Resumen
The present paper aims to analyze the expansion and growth of major representatives of European retail fashion in Latin American and Caribbean countries over the last twenty-three years, paying attention to companies such as: Inditex, Hennes & Mauritz (H & M), Cortefiel and Mango, which are currently four of the most successful commercial entities in the sector. Th e fi ndings of this study reveal how the arrival of these groups was related to economic events such as the implementation of neoliberal policies in the 1990s and the economic development of the 2000s, and politicians such as: the rise/fall of leftist projects on the continent and the increase of the middle class in recent years. Despite the variability of scenarios planned in these years, it was concluded that the long- standing European influx in relation to taste made European fashion a cultural consumption that was strengthened by the occurrence of various conjunctures.

The life of Antonio Leocadio Guzmán had a before and after his death sentence and the commutation of the sentence. In the time before he founded the Gran Partido Liberal of Venezuela with strategies that clearly preceded the modern parties of the 20th century, including the deployment of that party supported by a newspaper, just as Lenin will do with the foundation of the Russian Communist Party. They called Bolívar and followed him with the conviction which it was followed as a hero. He disappointed everyone and committed suicide politically, as his own comrades told him. He died in 1847 before actually dying in 1884. This work synthesizes these facts analytically on the basis of documentary research.

This text approaches three documents that were produced in Mérida, Venezuela, between 1564 and 1588. Through relevant information from the history of Mérida as well as theoretical tools from Discourse Analysis and Systemic Functional Linguistics, the analysis looks for textual elements that allow the reading of the context in which the documents were produced. The analysis shows the way ideational (in the first document), interpersonal (in the second document) and textual meanings (in the third document) function as gateways through the texts analysed to some of the discourses that framed the process of conquest and settlement of Mérida. Finally, the reading of these documents invites us to propose a discursive construction where beginnings of a Venezuelan Andeanness, which brings together the peoples and towns in what is nowadays the Venezuelan states of Táchira and Mérida, might be conceived.

In this article, we revise the public governance carried out during the biennium 1890-1891 by Laureano Villanueva as President of the Grande Carabobo’s State adopted by the entity between 1881 and 1893. This judgement about Villanueva´s government, in his first presidential administration in Carabobo, it will present through a group of policies understood under the context of Liberal Venezuela, during the last third of 19th century, as expression of the offered progress in different areas: economic, social, cultural and material; among them: peace and public order; administrative and statistical organization; welfare, public health, social assistance; public education; agriculture and policies of development.
