Resumen
With the fall of the Wall of Berlin and the socialist pattern, the European readjustment for a market without frontiers will mean a cultural readjustment equally for the new generations of the Old Continent. Those comfortable paradigms in those that was secured, the scientific investigation, they suffer a revolt, also reflected in the historical investigation. During the same period, the Venezuelan historiography got rich with investigation that gave a new perspective to the study of the national history: the rescue of the regional and local histories began by means of the use of the geohistorico method in a differentiated time and new space perspective, whose results located in specific integrated work lines, give new meanings to the National History. For Venezuela, the continuum proposed by Braudel, is not drained consequently still in the process of to write, one more time, our history.

Resumen
The project of Networking Services and Information Resources for Academic Libraries: Library of Human Sciences and Education, facing the challenges of a knowledge-based society, has the objective of fulfilling and granting the community’s information requirements. In order to accomplish that, the Electronic Information Services were configured according to the diversity of activities that the university expects and requires from its library. These Activities include the traditional services to undergraduate, graduate and research information requirements, and other like distance learning. The new Electronic Information Services include: The Intellectual Production Database of the Universidad de Los Andes, the Organization of Internet’s Resources, the Article’s Database and Current Contents for Periodical Publications, Ask your Librarian, The Service of Selective Dissemination of Information, The Electronic Reserve Collection, and the Virtual Expositions allusive to personages and historical events.

Resumen
The author proposes using archives information make a Mérida's urban history following writing-reading materials, publics and privates one. The former has a moral and religious orientation because of its readers and the private one has political considerations, probably because of relatively freedom from public opinion. the experts considerer before XVIII century reading a page was a sacred activity when later on became instrumental. The premise is that Merida people’s readers were educated under a sacred conception of the world.
